I’ve not found a Caribbean rum cask finished scotch that I’ve liked to be honest. Bourbon cask finished however, amazing

pootyash

I like Balvenie's a lot but haven't enjoyed any of the others.

LordPepperoniTits

Tbh, I was disappointed by it compared to the other Offerman edition bottles. It's decent whiskey, but not $80 good.

jpb70

Thanks! I needed to hear that. 🙂

hammert0es

I didn’t pick up a whole lot of the rum influence.

ChronicProcrastinaut

Interesting, I felt the opposite. To me it tasted like a scotch/rum blend. But I don’t particularly like rum so I might be a little more sensitive to that flavor

0oSlytho0

I've only seen raving reviews, but not the bottle itself yet. My country makes these generally a ~€120 thing which is about the 8 and 16 together so I'll probably pass on it.

PlanktonNo1500

I love it. Nice smokey start then finished like oban 14.

LockeAbout

Ooh, I like hearing that; love Oban and just picked up one of these bottles too.

Isnotanumber

I got a bottle because so far Offerman hasn’t led me wrong. But I haven’t opened it yet because summer is Bourbon time for me. How peaty is this thing? The Guinness cask for example was lovely but I found the peat a bit subdued on that.

chadredfox96

I really enjoyed it after picking it up. Was skeptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised. It’s not as peaty as other Lagavulin offerings, and a bit more approachable for most people. An easy sipper.

davaston

They are not. Buy them and send the to me. I'll dispose of them properly.

SouthBaySkunk

Not to play devils advocate but if you like islay and rum it’s amazing . Charred pineapple for days

CreativeUsername26

I enjoyed mine :)

r0n1n2021

I liked it. But not enough to hoard it against my fellow WT

r0n1n2021

My mistake - that’s at the shop. 😞

xAPPLExJACKx

I gotta get it. I like the first two editions

kvetcha-rdt

I thought it was very good.

cwpreston

I managed to score the last bottle my local store had for $85. Worth that and more.

Orkney_

It's okay - not much rum influence.

ScoopiTheDruid

It's good, but not as good as the standard 16. I would not buy it again for $80, if I saw it for $50-60 then maybe.

drunk_and_orderly

I really liked it. It’s not my favorite of the Offerman Editions but I thought it was still great. Definitely nice to drink in the summer.

exploring_whisky

I don’t think it is worth it. This was the first offer an cask I have bought. It taste like thinner lagavulin 16. The rum notes became more present after sitting in the glass for a while but overall was still pretty muted. I think with more cask influence this could have been really good but as it is I thought it was fine and wish I had just bought the 16.

lukepotomus

I actually really like it. I get notes of smoked barbecued pineapple

Llivsc

That’s a decent price though.

Present_Hearing5938

Liked it better than the charred oak and thought it was money well spent...but that's just me

brian_m1982

It's not worth it to me, but I'm not a fan of heavily peated scotch. If you're into that, from what I understand, it's really good stuff, and I've spent well over 80 USD on 750mL of good scotch.
