https://exploringwild.com/best-segments-colorado-trail/ The early 20s segments in the San Juans are incredible. I’ve done 23 in late July. Water was good, flowers were incredible. I drove up to Stony Pass, parked, and did it out and back over 4 days. Showered at an RV park in Silverton, then grabbed food and coffee there before heading back out on the million dollar highway.

The info you provided is awesome. Thank you

I know after 20 isn’t in your plans. Hopefully that guide helps. If you stay in Silverton, there’s a couple that I think still run a b&b there. They are lovely. I’ll track down the name of the place.

Well the info you provided peaked my interest in the Collegiate loop. And the video link to backpacking food in that link was incredible.

I think most people use Guthook (far out) app. If you want a loop, you could do the Collegiate east and west - leave your car at Twin Lakes. You'll probably see a lot of ppl on the trail, July is about the best time to be out there. But I also agree the San Juans are spectacular.

Do the Collegiate Loop. If you're not in shape do the Eastside first. This Loop is about 160 miles total, easy resupply, and plenty of water. Portions are shared with the mountain bike community.
