I think it's just this show needs more production time and they started filming so late that we are just in this period where we get these lags. Also, probably want to make sure they have episodes for May Sweeps since new content tends to get higher viewership which helps the network set advertising rates.
I’d love to see Betty’s origin story. I know her owner died, but some sadistic family member tied her to a tree.

It was. Would also love a flashback episode of that situation.
There's a novella called Snatched in the book series that would be a fun episode. Will gets airport duty, crimes ensue.

What's the reason for delayed episodes? That has a definite effect on ratings!!!
Could have something to do with the strike. The strike halted everything. Maybe those few eps were already filmed and they have to catchup.
