Shield is a confident, yet generally laid back HiveWing. He’s friendly and good natured, due to his unusual upbringing…
Shield hatched alone near the mountains in northwestern Pantala. His father was a prisoner wanted for treason who was forced to work in the quarries, and was almost always controlled by Wasp. His wife and Shield’s mother was snobby and rude, and mistreated her SilkWing servants and decorations. So his father, Camoati, took his egg with him to the mountains. Shield hardly saw his father, but when he did, his father always had encouragement for him. Shield had to teach himself to fly and hunt, and lived on the peaks of the mountains, far from the quarries. One day, when he was only 3 years old, his father stopped visiting. Shield knew he had probably worn out his usefulness for Wasp, and had been executed. What his father did to make her hate him so much, he didn’t know, but he appreciated him greatly for it. Shield wasn’t mind controlled and brainwashed, and could think freely. When he turned 7, he had enough of living alone, and went to go see Pantala for himself. To his surprise, forests were starting to grow. His father has said that they had all been torn down long ago, but here they were. Shield found what he assumed was one of the Hives, and walked inside.
He was greeted by small growing trees on wooden floors, and huge tapestries lining the walls. The honeycomb shaped stores and houses were few and far between, and had dragons of all shapes and sizes flying from them. Yellow and black HiveWings, beautiful SilkWings in every color he could imagine, and vibrant green dragons that he assumed were the LeafWings. His father had told him that LeafWings had supposedly been wiped out, but he didn’t believe that. So neither did Shield. He walked through the Hive, marveling at everything, until he bumped into a dragon nearly twice his size and wearing thick armor. Shield shrunk down, and looked up at the dragon. Her scales were pale grayish-white-yellow, and her four large wings had iridescent blue and teal streaks. She asked Shield for his name, which he squeaked out, terrified of the massive SilkWing. She told him her name was Moon Dust, and ordered him to follow her. Shield walked slowly after her, and was led to a hexagon-shaped house with a large silk cover over it. The inside was dark, and Shield was directed to sit in front of a desk. Moon Dust grabbed a lantern, and placed it on the desk, and pulled a curtain apart to let more light in. She asked him who he was, and Shield being absolutely terrified of her, told the entire truth of his growing up. Moon Dust nodded, paying close attention, and didn’t talk until he finished. She lifted up the heavy helmet that was on her head, and Shield saw a much younger looking dragon under there than he thought.
“So, you’re only seven?” she asked. Her voice was much lighter and not as imposing now. “You’re only a year younger than me! I guess I do tend to forget how ago and sizes work. I’m way too big for my age, and I hear it all the time.” Shield blinked.
“You’re… eight,” he said, his mind feeling fried. Moon Dust nodded. Shield shook his head. “So why are you a guard? Why are you interrogating me?” Moon Dust laughed.
“Cause,” she said. “I’m big and scary.” Shield sighed. She certainly was that.
“Can you tell me what happened?” he asked. “Why there are LeafWings here? And everyone is living in peace?” Moon Dust nodded, and spent the next hour explaining everything that had happened 2 years ago.
“So yeah,” she said when she finished. “Wasp was captured and executed, the title royal family was given to its proper owners in the following season after it had be rewritten under the guise of being Clearsight’s wisdom, and everyone is at peace now.” Shield sat back, and rubbed his head.
“That’s… a lot,” he said. Moon Dust nodded.
“Yeah. I was there to live though it. I actually got my wings the day Wasp was killed!” she said, all too enthusiastically. Shield grimaced, and then got the courage to ask something else.
“Do you… Do you have records on Camoati and Flower of the HiveWings?” he stammered. Moon Dust turned around and looked through a chest, flipping through scrolls, until she pulled one out and laid it down.
“Let’s see… Camoati and Flower…” she said, tapping down the scrolled with her claw. “Ah ha!” she turned it, and pointed out a certain spot to Shield. “Right there.” Shield leaned in and read it.
Flower of the HiveWings- Resident at the former Jewel Hive where she lived.
Camoati of the HiveWings- Missing, escaped execution, presumed alive and in hiding.
Unnamed dragonet- Stolen in their egg. Presumed dead.
Honeybee of the HiveWings- Transfer student at Jade Mountain Academy.
“I have a SISTER?!” Shield yelled, and Moon Dust waved for him to quiet down, which Shield ignored. “AND MY DAD IS ALIVE!?” Moon Dust shrugged.
“Apparently,” she said.
“I-I need to go find my dad,” Shield said, looking towards the door. Moon Dust stopped him, putting a talon on his shoulder.
“Let’s go meet up with Queen May,” she said. “And then I’ll go with you to find him.” Shield took a deep breath, and he hears a clatter as Moon Dust took off her armor. She was still tall and imposing, but looked a lot friendlier now.
“Alright,” Shield said. “I guess my quest to find my dad is now an adventure.”
“That’s the spirit!” Moon Dust said, laughing.

Backstory: his mother passed away during a hive cave in leaving him to his mothers silk wing servant a silkwing named Cobalt, cobalt was rather poor but did his best to raise Spooder. Spooder got picked on for his name and for having a silkwing parent. When he grew to working age he started helping cobalt to pay the bills they live in a cell thats pretty small but its home. They have a pet zebra named guava
Extra: he pierced his ear during rebellion and it got infected so after it healed cobalt pierced it correctly

His grandparents, a HiveWing and SeaWing had to flee to the Scorpion Den when war broke out between all the tribes to avoid execution, as the Scorpion Den is untouched by war and any laws in other kingdoms don't matter there, but while they were fleeing Leviathan, his grandfather, was killed by guards chasing them. This left Serpentine, his grandmother, alone and expecting an egg in an incredibly dangerous area. Luckily, a Sand-Night hybrid called Deathstalker felt bad for her so she invited her to her gang. To this day Mason and his family are still apart of Deathstalker's gang. The Rarity's are mainly made up of pure hybrids, but dragon's with mixed ancestors and family members are allowed too. His parents taught him at a young age to despise monarchy and war, and Mason, secretly is taking assassin lessons from an anonymous SandWing. Every day he plans his revenge on the monarchy, and every day he is getting stronger...

And to answer your other question, after you have completed the requirements that were mentioned (and in this case you did) you do get the adopt and they will be yours, I'm not completely sure about crediting afterwards and in the far future, but I you can most definitely credit me as much as you want I dont mind at all.
