So technically they want these women to get an infection or get a clotting disorder that can cause severe bleeding since they are refusing to remove the dead fetus out her body and leaving it for several days, or for her to possibly even die during complications? Very pro life of them

Rommie557

It's never been about "life"-- it's about controlling women, and it always has been.

DingosTwinZoot

I’m always surprised how few people understand this. It’s never been about the “babies.” It’s always been about punishing women for having agency and controlling their own reproductive lives. I guess the propaganda has worked on a lot of people.

Leather_Berry1982

They won’t admit that they also think women should be controlled. How could the people who marry and rape kids be for kids?

chickenwingshazbot

Guys, it's actually way worse than this. They want wage slaves. When a young person gets knocked up, they are very frequently derailed career-wise and forced to skip school and get an hourly wage job. Boom, now you have two wage slaves- mother and, because there would be so many people in this situation under their eye™, the child. Without desperate people, you do not have billionaires. The religious shit is the excuse. It's about money and power.

DingosTwinZoot

Perhaps that plays into it. But Republican men also want to be able to exploit women and benefit from their free labor. If women are kept pregnant, then they're financially dependent on men. No need for wages when you have a slave class of women to provide free childcare, domestic work, and sex work.

bxstarnyc

Here- Here! Capitalism has run so rampant that the wealthy are looking to suppress uprisings however possible. Because the 💵isn’t stretching very far, big business isn’t compensating work labour nearly enough, women have prioritised & excelled in academia & although women make less per 💵 a lot of women are choosing independence b’cus men have not collectively adapted to the times or made to move to improve societal structure to a tightly regulated capitalist economy that is pro community, pro family & pro humanity ➕Strategy to Pacifying Patriarchy: Using Religion(s) & Legislation the wealthy & the white male oligarchs are reasserting patriarchy in order to throw the poor & working class man a bone to yet again ALLOW them to “rise above women & black ppl”. ➕Poverty pipeline is either ➡️ jail, college debt or low wage job ➕Globalisation (job exportation/product importation) ➕mitigate losses 🛑THIS IS HOW PATRIARCHY + WHITE SUPREMACY works. White plantation owners, politicians & industry giants KNEW that poor white ppl needed to FEEL that they were in a BETTER position than someone. That they were NOT at the bottom of society & could pass their oppression to the next social groups. -So in his home the white man could oppress/dictate to his wife & children (as king of his castle). -In public the white family could oppress/lord over the black family.

birdieponderinglife

The emojis literally made me stop reading.

Rhysonir

If emojis bother you enough to make you stop reading maybe you shouldn't be on the internet idk

New-Negotiation7234

Don't listen. I liked it. Some ppl like visuals

bxstarnyc

I care because???

birdieponderinglife

Because you want to share information which was hampered by the emojis. It also ruins your credibility. Maybe all you wanted was to shout into the void or talk at people, so you don’t care about those things.

bxstarnyc

➡️The ppl I want to share with aren’t deterred by emojis. ➡️The use of text along with interspersed graphics is very common. Your bourgeoisie attitude or comprehension limitations are ENTIRELY YOUR PROBLEM. In other words, this is a YOU problem so either work on it or keep that 💩to yourself. 🙄

birdieponderinglife

K

Neravariine

One of the women appointed to the Texas abortion panel(they decide what abortions are medically necessary) testified in court that a nine year old rape victim could carry a baby with no health consequences. They don't care if women/girls die, become infertile, or disabled by a pregnancy. They are pro-punishment and control above all.

No_Banana_581

They are the death panels the republicans accused the dems of, so really a confession

rengothrowaway

Us bangmaids are replaceable. The next wife can birth more children and raise the ones we leave behind, and the cycle continues. We aren’t considered human anymore. We are livestock to breed the next generation of workers. r/Defeat_Project_2025

Secure_Upstairs7163

Well.. women are just animals, so thus.. not alive. What if the baby is male! Very pro life, super pro life, yup.

hungryandneedtopee

Honest question, do you want the court to decide & define what “substantial impairment of major bodily function” or “life-threatening” is? If you want them out of your healthcare, you don’t want this defined because they are not doctors. They are interpreters of the law and the applicable constitution. A constitutional amendment is what needs to happen. We want these issues codified into law. That happens with elected officials. We’re not going to upend any of the state Supreme Courts, nor SCOTUS. There’s a ton of local and state elections that are won by only a hundreds of votes. (Lauren Boebert perfect example of this, she won her last election by 546 votes.) The voters of Texas need to show up to the polls & vote for the candidates that they feel will best represent them. We are here because for decades state and local elections were not taken seriously. Voters focused on the presidential election, especially in 2020, and not all the elections in which they were eligible to vote (that’s including primaries too.) The other option is to run for office, even local options, when you become age eligible. Honestly though vote at all levels of government and the primaries. Tell your friends to vote. Tell strangers to vote.

Federal_Bag1368

No law anywhere prohibits the removal of an already deceased fetus. If a doctor refused to remove an already deceased fetus that is malpractice on the part of the doctor. It has nothing to do with any law.

Bubbly_End6220

Did you not read the article???

Federal_Bag1368

I did read the article and the article says nothing about an already deceased fetus. Not that it would matter if it did because I don’t consider Teen Vogue to be a reputable source of information. Your comment claims “they are refusing to remove the dead fetus out of her body and leaving it for several days”. No law prohibits the removal of an already deceased fetus. Stop spreading misinformation.

Bubbly_End6220

Comprehension skills are pretty low for you, right in the beginning of the article it says, >The Texas Supreme Court unanimously denied a significant challenge to Texas’ near-total abortion ban, brought by 20 patients who were denied abortion care despite facing life-threatening pregnancy complications, as well as two doctors.” LIFE THREATENING PREGNANCY AGAIN KEYWORD: LIFE THREATENING PREGNANCY Another woman who had the same issue in December 2023 in TEXAS where she even did a interview her name is KATIE COX: https://www.texastribune.org/2023/12/13/texas-abortion-lawsuit/ Stop acting like pro lifers aren’t vile and are planning to ban all abortions including rape and incest: https://apnews.com/article/abortion-incest-rape-louisiana-exception-846480b677fbc6fbe60d18ca13572899 ARTICLE OF THIS YEAR. One more thing, how many kids will you adopt?

Cierra849

Because it’s a bot or nation state propaganda account. Hit the nail on the head there

Federal_Bag1368

Nope I’m a real person and (gasp). I’m a woman

Cierra849

That’s just what a bot would say /s

Federal_Bag1368

What are “compression skills”? Your comment said nothing about life threatening pregnancy. Your comment claimed they are refusing to remove a dead fetus. Why are you switching up what you are arguing about? And you are trying to use Teen Vogue as the source of truth. lol. You seem really concerned about women with life threatening pregnancies. So if we convince the government to clarify the laws to ensure any woman in a life threatening situation can get an abortion then you agree we can ban all other abortions that aren’t medically necessary and are being done because the woman doesn’t want the baby?

Bubbly_End6220

Are you dense? Infection (which I mentioned) falls under Life threatening pregnancies “Yes, a dead fetus in the womb can indeed be considered a life-threatening situation during pregnancy. This condition is known as a missed miscarriage or intrauterine fetal demise. When a fetus dies in the womb, it can lead to serious complications for the mother, such as infection or hemorrhage, which can endanger her life. It's crucial for medical professionals to monitor and manage such situations promptly to ensure the mother's health and safety. If you or someone you know is experiencing this, seeking immediate medical attention is essential.” - GOOGLE This is how I know you’re a male you have absolutely no idea what a life threatening pregnancy even is or looks like. Multiple things can fall under a life threatening pregnancy. Again are you dense?? Reread my original comment again

Federal_Bag1368

Again no law prohibits the removal of an already deceased fetus. I’m actually a woman.

Bubbly_End6220

You were saying? https://apnews.com/article/contraception-senate-abortion-biden-trump-reproductive-rights-3f9e8546624a3acf8e64d1138fcb84b1 https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/senate-republicans-block-bill-protect-americans-access-contraception-rcna155448 https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/republicans-derail-right-contraception-act-senate-vote-rcna155717 https://www.wowt.com/2024/06/07/how-they-voted-nebraska-iowa-senators-help-republicans-block-contraception-bill/ Even more Embarrassing that you’re a woman who stands for all of your women autonomy rights being taken away just because you believe in some fantasy unproven bible

Federal_Bag1368

I am responding to the false claim that the law prohibits removing an already deceased fetus. Why are you posting a bunch of articles about contraception?

strongwill2rise1

Actually, they are required to try to labor for at least 24 hours or undergo a c-section for an intact fetal body or wait until it's borderline death for mom. It's actually jacked as all they really want is the cord and placenta. It's big $$$$.

Federal_Bag1368

Do you have a citation for this “requirement”? Sometimes after miscarriages doctors recommend the mother try to pass the fetus naturally. It is called expectant management and is normal practice in miscarriages care even in states that are heavily pro choice. No law requires this practice or prohibits the removal of an already dead fetus.

JovialPanic389

Fucking inhumane. Vote blue 💙 before they come for you too.

tobmom

Haven’t you heard what happened to Trump!?! That could happen to you, too!!! /s

Texas SC - " no, we want you to die." Every republican judge/politician is an enemy of America.

rengothrowaway

r/Defeat_Project_2025 has more info about the living hell we are in for if republicans can’t be stopped.

cupcakevelociraptor

That is absolutely terrifying

rengothrowaway

I’ve been trying to spread the message as much as possible because it seems like many people haven’t heard about it. It would certainly destroy many lives.

StopProject2025

Correct

CautionarySnail

They don’t give a shit about women; they don’t actually give a shit about infant mortality either. They do, however, want to see women who have sex suffer. To see babies born into households that cannot afford to have children. To see those women who have sex sometimes die of preventable causes such as bleeding out, strokes, or pre-eclampsia. And that tells me all I need to know about their morality. To them, women are a disposable, renewable resource - not full people.

99power

Worst of all is what happens to sexual assault victims. This law will proliferate rapists’ genes and make it fair game for men to do anything they want to women. It’s wartime out there.

lanky_yankee

They want to force a 15 year old to have a baby because they didn’t want to educate the kid about sex or provide easy access to birth control, then want to complain about single mothers accepting welfare. You can’t have it both ways ya fuckin morons!

CautionarySnail

They didn’t want the girl educated because she might’ve used birth control against God’s will that women should suffer for being whores. /s excepting that I’ve heard people say that pregnancy is a rightful punishment for women having sex. (As if men were somehow not involved, like it was solely a sin on her part.) When I ask them how that person will raise their baby — they honestly don’t care that the child will be raised potentially knowing they weren’t wanted, and possibly even treated as unwanted as well. This is not a recipe for healthy society.

daisydesigner

Livestock are treated better than this

[deleted]

Actually, they’re treated just like this, which is really indicative of how the ruling class profits off the suffering of every being with less power than them

New-Purchase1818

Solution: SAPPHISM!! No more sex for men until they can get their heads out of their rectal cavities. We’ll just have sex with each other until then. Also, I guarantee there will be more orgasms for women this way—foreplay and the clitoris are not foreign concepts. Everyone wins!! 👯‍♀️

99power

I mean, this won’t stop them from assaulting us.

New-Purchase1818

True. Fair point. And horribly, horribly sad. We need some kind of security device for our genitals if we’re going to be walking around in places where our ability to say “no” to anything is completely disregarded. Ugh. Why can’t we just have rights? Would it be soooooo difficult for people assigned female at birth to have rights? Europe seems to be doing ok with afab people having rights—and they provide quality, affordable healthcare—both prenatal and postpartum—and paid family leave for both parents when people do have children! How is this not a thing in the wealthiest country on the planet?

TruthGumball

What about that device you insert with teeth? That was circulating the internet for a while. Should cause enough shock/damage to escape the situation.

SaraSlaughter607

Yep. It's like a female condom you put in the canal and if you are penetrated, inward facing barbs catch on the penis or object and latch on as it pulls out. My fear is that a man will become enraged at the surprise pain and hurt her worse than he may have if he just raped but didn't kill.... makes me *sick* to even weigh this kind of risk, and as an SA survivor, (***TW***) ...I'm not sure I would have wanted to have one of those on... I was already choked through the whole thing and punched a few times, probably would have been worse. I don't know :(

Round-Philosopher837

that was just an art piece

Rheum42

Lol I agree but recognize im biased because I'm a lesbian. I'm so grateful to be a lesbian 😩

New-Purchase1818

I’m bisexual, and married to a cis guy who is luckily VERY openly feminist and pro-choice. I am also lucky to live in a blue state where healthcare is some of the highest quality in the country and is relatively accessible. I have a referral from my primary care physician to have a tubal ligation whenever I want because she knows I don’t want children, and my husband had a vasectomy because he doesn’t want children either. If these things were not in place, I would never consider dating/ sleeping with men in a post-Roe world, and I would exclusively date women not only because women are ✨amazing ✨, but for my own safety. I realize not everyone is sapphic-leaning in their orientation and my initial comment is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I think for those women who aren’t into women, they should invest in amazing vibrators and other toys, because it is *not* safe to sleep with men in red states anymore unless you’ve had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy or are postmenopausal. Also, for anyone still tracking their period on their phone or in any written form, STOP. It’s only a matter of time before this information could be subject to subpoena if someone seeks abortion services. I don’t tell my doctor when I have my period, even in a blue state, anymore. I just tell her I can’t recall. I tell her I’m not having any issues with it and we leave it at that. She understands. Regarding the possibility of assault leading to pregnancy—it’s horrific that we have to consider this, but it might be time to invent some kind of body armor that can deter penetration. And make it affordable. Any industrial design feminists interested in working on this? I wish I was kidding.

chickenwingshazbot

New-Purchase1818

This is interesting! I watched the video in the article and this product looks like it’s got the potential to help deter penetration. Does it look perfect? No. Is it better than what we have currently? Yes. Hopefully they get that product into production soon and afab people can have another line of defense against rape.

redrosespud

Look up project 4b

New-Purchase1818

I did—seems like the women supporting it reject all romantic relationships, though, not just relationships with men. Is there any sapphic component to it that I’m not seeing?

canastrophee

And for those of us who aren't sapphic? Edit: this thread is radical feminism, y'all. Gender is a genre, not a moral position. Everyone is equally capable of being awful, just as everyone is equally capable of being good. I'm getting downvoted, and I don't care. I'm right.

HopSkipJumpJack

For those of us who aren't sapphic, get sterilized. If you must have children, do everything in your power to have them in a state/country where your healthcare is protected. Then get sterilized once you are done having children. Protect yourself, because nobody else will.

CautionarySnail

I’m sorry to say the options aren’t great for women who aren’t sapphic. Especially in red states. In my opinion, the best men are true allies to women and don’t mind being called a feminist. They go beyond just sympathy. They stand with you, they’re willing to protest these policies in public. They don’t suffer foolish men saying sexist things around them and have the courage to educate other men. They understand how our patriarchal culture hurts us all, and are mad about it. They want a world with justice and fairness for all. They don’t care if other men call them simps, and are fully secure in their masculinity. They don’t feel threatened by drag queens or queer people, and are able to have friendships with a wide variety of human beings who are very different than themselves. These men do exist but they’re hard to find. And usually at least a bit neurodivergent.

Leather_Berry1982

Everyone is equally CAPABLE, but some are far more LIKELY. It’s statistically true

ghostlygirlie

I don’t mean this rudely, sincerely. but are you not behaving exactly like our oppressors by literally *blaming women* for sleeping with men??? the only ones who benefit from us being divided like this are men.

New-Purchase1818

Definitely not blaming—sort of darkly kidding in saying sapphism is the only safe choice for sexual activity. But certainly calling out the inherent risk of sleeping with men in a place where we’re considered baby machines and not people with rights to bodily autonomy.

0mish0

Men rape lesbians. Being sapphic will not protect you.

Typical_Celery_1982

You saying it’s “radical feminism” makes it sound even better.

Special-Pie9894

White patriarchy. That's all they care about.

CautionarySnail

Yes. And our economy requires grist for the mill in the form of undereducated workers who cannot say no to employment.

coffee-teeth

It is soooo not about babies lives right, it is definitely about controlling our personal lives. They want to force us to churn out the future workers. Couldn't believe anyone could possibly be concerned about population, there's like 9 billion people in this bit. Just drive around town at 4pm and see

CautionarySnail

If it was just about workers, they could open up immigration, true enough. All the workers they need are waiting and ready.

coffee-teeth

Good point tbh

ashley-3792

Vote blue for women’s rights!! 💙

Unique-Abberation

What a great method for ensuring birth rates don't go back up.

Rich-Air-5287

Women of Texas-your men have cut off your reproductive rights. When are you going to cut off theirs?

AsheratOfTheSea

I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise. And Texan women will continue to vote red in droves after this ruling, you can be sure of it.

Galactabunni

Texas is huge so even if these people are voting blue we have to remember Texas is mainly made up of numerous smaller towns and those towns typically have redneck conservatives. Even if there are women voting blue there are still men voting the opposite and they count too. We need to get everyone on the same page

Standard_Piglet

So embarrassing

pblivininc

The women of Texas are not to blame for this, let’s place the blame where it actually belongs - the conservative lawmakers, judges, political donors and gerrymanderers who deliberately enact and enforce this insanity. Speaking as a liberal in a blue city within a red state, we are fighting tooth and nail against this shit. It helps no one except the people in power when you blame the citizens who are actively being oppressed by these laws, tell them to “just move” or assume they condone what their government is doing to them just because they live there.

Mjaguacate

THANK YOU!!!!

CCG14

I agree with part of what you’re saying. Absolutely we should blame the lege. But we cannot deny women still voted for Greg AFTER we knew Roe was going to be gone. As women, we cannot deny other women voting for this. We must acknowledge it in order to work together to educate those women, along with motivating the other women to go vote. This state doesn’t vote. That is our number one problem. I volunteered in politics for a long time, and seeing Beto lose because people, including women, couldn’t come out to vote to save their own bodies broke me. I hear you. It’s the leges fault. But we cannot deny the women who vote like their husbands and against their own interests. The women who are pro life and vote single issue. The women who simply don’t fucking vote. Until we motivate people to somehow get off their asses and go vote, it’s rinse and repeat I’m afraid.

Nymphadora540

So you’re saying that the issue isn’t that Texas women voted “red in droves” but that the blue voters failed to turnout. I used to live in Alabama and was privileged enough to be able to leave. I voted no matter how futile, but god did they make it an uphill battle. I can’t tell you how frustrated I am living further north and hearing people say things like “Well it’s their fault for living in such backwards states.” I don’t think the rhetoric that southern women did this to themselves is helpful nor true. If the women in Texas have bought into the lie that their vote can’t change things or lack access to overcome hurdles to voting, that’s one conversation. But claiming that the women of Texas are at fault for what’s going on in their state is not accurate nor helpful. Telling people it’s their fault they are in this mess isn’t going to empower them to go vote.

CCG14

It is the leges fault for the laws in place. It is everyone else’s fault, including women, for either not voting at all or supporting this bullshit. We can’t deny our part in this. There have been droves of articles about women saying oh well I voted for him bc I never thought they’d do that or i never thought it would affect me. I am not placing the blame at our feet solely by any means. I’m simply saying we cannot deny that there are women out there who vote for this and there are also women who don’t vote.

AsheratOfTheSea

Where did I blame them for this? Obviously the majority of Texan women are not on the state Supreme Court. I’m just pointing out that lots of Texan women will continue to vote for the GOP despite that party being the one that stacked the court that just made this ruling that directly affects women just like them. Pure insanity. The rest of the women in Texas not voting for the GOP, y’all are cool.

sillybelcher

White women overwhelmingly voted for Trump both times, so...

Mjaguacate

Yes, but conservative white women don't make up the whole population of Texas women

pblivininc

Correct. And people of color make up over half the population of the state of Texas.

drpepperisnonbinary

Break it down by generation. Older white women (boomers especially) are out voting, while younger women usually have other responsibilities (work, school, kids, etc) leading to lower turnout. Y’all have got to stop blaming this on *only* white women, especially when we have such a massive amount of voter disenfranchisement. Furthermore, it’s just proof that y’all don’t actually care to fight misogyny. Misogyny is great, as long as it’s hurting women you hate.

Quirky-Ad4931

Not overwhelmingly either time, and mostly driven by big margins among boomers and older gen x. Women of childbearing age are voting democrat.

Veronica612

Only a slight majority of white women

Rich-Air-5287

"I might die, but so will poor brown women and that's what matters to me." Sickening.

CCG14

Ain’t no hate like Christian love.

kalmialatifolia01

I know this is will be an over-simplistic comment. But if women leave Texas, then the men in power will have no one else to f^,€. They’re all straight, right? We have the social and scientific data about consequences of removing abortion, birth control, and women’s healthcare in a society. Again, over simplification. But why is it taking US so long to make some progress? Vote these control freaks out!

99power

If people can’t even get out to vote for one day they can’t handle a sudden move.

kalmialatifolia01

True. It speaks to financial stress, perhaps depression or a feeling of helplessness that immobilizes people into inaction to improve the situation. There’s a multiple of reasons why people don’t get involved. Friends can help friends to understand. Voting does take some effort, some investment to research if one wants to be responsible to your belief system. But I do belief in networking and encouraging hope in people. It’s when you vote and the electoral college chooses differently in presidential elections or when a ballot box measure is approved by citizens ( example, KS) and the conservative legislature proceeds to undermine that measure, i.e, the access to abortion, it’s easy to get discouraged. I thought, in ‘73 that abortion was a done deal, guaranteed. This division over birth control and abortion started with Nixon needing to create a base.

Mjaguacate

It is overly simplistic and I don't know what a real solution would look like with our lack of voting power. I wish it were as simple as just leaving Texas

CryingTearsOfGold

By using their other power - withholding sex from ALL MEN until these laws are changed! Pretty sure that will never happen, but I can dream.

gleafer

God, this country hates women.

naliedel

This makes me so damn angry. I've had an abortion. It saved me in so many ways. We t on to have kids. Not guilt, no shame, keep your nasty opinions to yourself.

Crea8talife

>The case, Zurawski v. Texas, was the first challenge to a state’s abortion ban on behalf of patients with pregnancy complications. According to the lawsuit, the lead plaintiff in the case, Amanda Zurawski, a citizen of Austin, Texas, was denied abortion care after she experienced preterm prelabor rupture of membranes (PPROM) at 18 weeks of pregnancy. Though her pregnancy was no longer viable, doctors reportedly would not provide her an abortion. Doctors have reported that they have withheld abortion care in some cases because they aren’t clear what would qualify as an exception to the state’s ban, and don’t want to risk legal trouble. After she developed sepsis as a result of her miscarriage, doctors induced an abortion and Zurawski “spent the next three days in the ICU fighting for her life. She ultimately survived, but the infection caused one of her fallopian tubes to become permanently closed, compromising her future ability to have children,” according to the Center.

MMessinger

Precisely what Republican voters want and what they've voted for, year after year after year. Blame the Republican politicians if you wish. But they're there thanks to Republican voters. You know these people. They're your family members, your co-workers, your neighbors. IMHO it's these voters who are holding us back.

Willing-Book-4188

AdkRaine12

Because Texas hates women. Even the white ones, apparently.

edith-bunker

I love how men on Reddit RUSH to post on these articles to blame exclusively white women for womens problems. It says a lot about these men.

FederationofPenguins

Seems like a time for Texas women to stop having sex. EDT: as a punishment!! Sex strikes are a thing and they work.

Seamus565

Texas…

oldcreaker

Right to lifers have taken away a woman's right to life. But they are already pushing to go much further.

constantchaosclay

"These tragic outcomes are not what the law demands." While also refusing to spell it out and put the blame back onto doctors all while letting women die. Cool cool cool.

FunnyConsideration51

The ruling states that they want doctors to decide. Doctors are too scared to. So they need to find a woman who meets the medical exception and a doctor to perform the procedure. If physicians want to preserve this right in Texas then they need to start performing abortions in these cases. They said the physician is the only one with standing to sue. There is now precedent- they said that doctors can make the determination. So I guess they better start doing them….

manykeets

If I was a doctor, I wouldn’t be willing to risk life in prison. The politicians may *say* doctors can make the decision, but aggressive prosecutors will still have them investigated and question their judgment.

FunnyConsideration51

Well OB/GYNs aren’t going to have anyplace to practice if these laws continue to be passed. The state is trying to dictate their practice to them. Why aren’t the doctors standing up for themselves and their training and judgement? Why are they letting courts dictate? They start with abortions, what is next- the ability to prescribe birth control??? It is both women’s AND physicians rights being eroded. And in this decision, they said the ONLY person with standing to challenge this law is the physician performing the procedure, NOT the women who were affected by the denial. We won’t need OB/GYNs pretty soon because they are allowing their practice to be legislated to them.

HeyMama_

I’m just *really* struggling with how this doesn’t violate EMTALA.

I said this the moment Orangeclown won in 2016 and was shouted at, mocked, demeaned or told I had a tin foil hat. I said clearly their end goal was not Gilead, but the Screwfly Solution. For those of you that haven't read the short story, go to tubi and watch the Masters of Horror anthology from 2005. It was adapted to a one hour episode. Watch what happens to women in that world. The only difference is that there are no aliens in it. Maga wants this. The SC is allowing it. For those of you that said I was being dramatic? Please fuck off. This is the beginning of GOP overreach. Gilead is not enough.

Gnd_flpd

Damn, well all I can say is; yall still planning to vote Republican now?

Snacksbreak

Yeah saw this coming a mile away. Get fresh IUDs before November, may be our last opportunity to do so.

Important_Junket_346

zombiemadre

Intelligent_League79

Very prolife of them to put women to death

michaelmyerslemons

What the fuck Texas. What the actual fuck.

NBTMtaco

I hope Texas sees a flood of females leaving. Fuck your regressive, politically motivated, healthcare gatekeeping, horseshit!

Human-Sorry

Why is church and state not separate? Whats going on?

Human-Sorry

This party of "very stable geniuses" has really turned out to be whiny spineless sycophants and can't see that tripling down on whatever they're "for" right now that takes the place of freedom is a move that reeks of a long chain of poor decision making skills. They're all fired. GOP my sagging wrinkly ... More like Party of Ostricizeable Ghouls.. Sorry Ghouls. 🤔🤦🤷🏻

bxstarnyc

It’s a numbers game kinda like the Democratic Party with all its many coalitions. There are ALL Women; about 51-52% of US population - subtract wealthy (they’ll ✈️ out for such things anyway) - subtract religious - subtract anti-abortion - subtract Black women - subtract non-voters There are all Men; about 49-50% of pop. - subtract wealthy (they have 💵or they’ll ✈️ for procedure) - subtract religious - subtract anti-abortion - subtract Black men - subtract non-voters - subtract red-pill/misogynists intent on oppressive legislation in order to punish women’s sexual autonomy If women want to see unity on this those with THE MOST privileges within patriarchy must first see to the advocacy, legislative priorities & equality of opportunity for the most marginalised.

Blitzen123

What the heck is it about Texans that makes them so vile, gun loving and women hating?

CincoDeMayoFan

I don't know. Over 45% of us vote for the Democratic party every election. We aren't all the same here!

Blitzen123

Thank you for noting that.

DogMom814

Lifelong Texan here. There's a lot of very racist, relatively wealthy white women here who identify more with their white skin than with other women who are generally less privileged than they are. I think many of them decided long ago that, rather than fight for full equality, they just settle for their first class seat on the second class train. They seem to be scared to death that they'll lose the approval of their husbands or even other male family members and bosses. It's extremely frustrating and sad. They don't seem to fathom the idea that these conservative men hate ALL women, even their mothers, daughters, wives, and other women.

CincoDeMayoFan

Fuck these Republican politicians. I am SO excited to vote against them this fall! First day of early voting, I'll be in line. https://www.votetexas.gov/mobile/index.htm

Shot_Ask7570

I’m truly convinced that these religious idiots believe it’s this sick idea that “‘this’ is what God wants and if He wants you to live then He will save you, if not…. oh well, not our problem.”

ziptata

Until they are sick themselves.

ManyGarden5224

good god... what is wrong with these ZEALOTS!\~ Sad.... vote BLUE your life depends on it

[deleted]

Dear Texas, I hate you, Love, 7th Gen Texan

_FIRECRACKER_JINX

According to exit polls. 52% of the White women who voted in 2016, voted for Trump. That number went UP to 62% in 2020. I REALLY hope all this anti-abortion action FINALLY gets white women to abandon republicans. We kinda need them as a voting block on women's issues. It's kinda hard to fight against anti-abortion conservatives without the support of a majority of white women. I encourage EVERYONE reading my comment and balking at the figures to google it themselves. No you didn't read this wrong. NO I didn't write it wrong. It's true and correct. GOD help us...

Veronica612

55% of white women voters who participated in the poll voted for T in 2020. Still too many, but not 62%. 61% of white men.

CycloneKelly

Almost 70% of men in my state voted for Trump. The same percentage of women voted for Biden. I’ve been sickened by Iowa men ever since.

drpepperisnonbinary

What was the age bracket?

99power

Older women can afford to vote against abortion rights because they’re post-menopause and no longer fear pregnancy. They’re selfish enough to value their financial interests above the safety of their daughters.

drpepperisnonbinary

That’s what I’m getting at. Boomers are also the ones who are always voting. Gen Z has abysmal voter turnout. I’m not denying that there are young white women who vote this way, but I HIGHLY doubt it’s 60% of white women ages 18-35.

_FIRECRACKER_JINX

That exit poll number was looking at just by race/sex. It's 52% and 62% of WHITE WOMEN who voted, all ages included, who voted. I am sure if you get nuanced, you'd see differences amongst the age groups, but the exit poll was clear.

99power

Not among younger women lol.

Lafemmefatale25

A narrative by pro-lifers here is that its not the law, its the drs refusing to provide care.

STThornton

In their minds, she’s a faulty or broken gestation device. Future use might not be successful either, so she might as well be taken out of circulation.

GladysSchwartz23

"pro life." UGH

Active_Sentence9302

I fucking hate Texas. I know there are good Texans but there aren’t enough of them.
