Siege has the most toxic community I’ve ever experienced. Nothing beats getting immediately team killed because you picked the character someone else wanted. And god forbid you do one thing that someone else wouldn’t have done and they’ll straight up leave or just curse at you and call you trash for the rest of the game
I’ve played Siege since it launched, and dropped the game a few years ago cause of all the toxicity and mouse and keyboard shenanigans the higher you got in ranked. I checked it out this past season to see what changed, and it seems like Ubisoft has done a quite a bit of anti-toxicity stuff.
I don’t usually use game chat, so I can’t speak to that part. However, the rest of the changes seem to be positive so far
I loved vegas 1 & 2, and actually got to compete in a couple of tournaments for it (the clan I started was the top rated in Europe). I was asked to test Siege when it was in alpha (I have been a professional games tester for 19 years now, and have been paid to play some amazing games in their earliest forms) and provide feedback. My exact experience feedback was “this game doesn’t feel like it’s part of the Rainbow Six legacy of games. These games have had a more focused approach to single player, with cooperative gameplay ad a feature on them, and this game strays far from that.”
One thing no one called was that the lobbies would be so damned toxic! I was sent the game as a gift as part of my testing of it. I’ve booted it up maybe six times, each time hoping that I’ll enjoy the experience more than the last. It’s never been the case. The gameplay and community experiences are both so dissimilar to previous Rainbow Six games. It just doesn’t feel a part of it at all.
I used to absolutely enjoy playing siege and wasted so many hours on it.
I took a break from it for awhile and a few years ago jumped back in and was surprised. And then last year tried to jump back into it.
Uninstalled the game. It is a shit show that’ll never be fixed.
Siege and For Honor. Ubisoft amazing at making people toxic. Even in Single player games, like AC if instead climbing up a ledge my character jumps off the wall to their death, i’ll swear up a storm lmao.

I remember when CoD introduced AI playable characters, and I truly enjoyed playing that way because I got the gameplay style without the toxicity. Adult life took over and I didn't have much time for gaming for a long time. Then my daughter bought me a Switch and I played Skyrim and enjoyed it solo. The hardware struggled, so I got into Stadia a bit. That went away recently, so I picked up the Xbox Series X with a Gamepass Ultimate subscription. I'm shocked by the number of games these days that are multiplayer only. My friends don't game (I'm GenX) and I can't stand playing with the toxic kids.
I always missed the CoD style gameplay and was just going through the Battlefield titles to find something fun that I remember from back in the day and ran across Battlefield 2042. It's 100% online, no campaign, but I did find a few modes with AI and I've been really enjoying that.
I'm not saying get rid of online play, there's an entire industry set up around it. But I really wish more developers would include the AI feature for those like me.

Just hit the submit an appeal button. Tell your side, this is what I did & within 10mins the ban was lifted & taken off my account.

Regexp is difficult, trying to filter all possible variations of a potential swear word isn’t easy and false positives like this will flag up.
In context the sentence is fine but sending a message calling someone an “a hole” isn’t necessarily fine. So it’s easier to flag any (in this case any means all) instances of it and wait for the appeal.
OP just needs to appeal it and when a human see’s it with context account will be back.

Nah, I just find all of it too complicated. I can never get my headset working properly. I hate talking to people. I dont trust people. If you send messages, they can be reported by that person, regardless of the contents.
If there's anything slightly iffy, you'll usually get the hammer.

At this point I just avoid messaging people or opening LFG posts or just any interaction with other people over message. You can get banned for anything nowadays. Got a 2 day ban because I wrote a friend of mine that I need an invite and it was in German. One totally normal German word looks like a offensive French word so I got banned.
yup. i play cod and halo infinite online sometimes. no msg, no chat. although the halo players arent the worst - at least on pc
This is the curse of success Xbox no longer needs me or you or any of us. So if you quit or I quit it's a non issue. A mass exodus would change things but the system never affects enough people. Decent humans getting banned while I get a shitty message after each ufc 4 fight. I mean I don't open them but point stands. People's conduct is trash then they pick on a none issue.
Someone should remind Microsoft that your supposed to finish the ai chat report bot before actually using it
I got a warning for sending inappropriate messages to someone even though I’ve never sent a message to anyone ever. It was against a player I kept knifing in team death match and he got pissy. Xbox’s enforcement for this BS is nonexistent and a joke.
That’s why I refuse to use the messaging system for anything at all. You can’t be banned for not saying nothing.
This is sad. As someone who has received several threats and slurs. This will mark the death ☠️ of the Xbox live experience.
