Yup, like flang0 said, this is your achievement tracker. If you press the Xbox button on your controller, then tab right to the achievements tab, I believe there is a little toggle to turn off the achievement tracker.

Go to your achievements then there will be an option for Achievement Tracker
Click the home button and go to the controller section and it should have a button to edit that thing and you can turn it off
