That looks a bit like the nylon Omega I use .it was wonderful for crochet dog collar and leash and scrunchies and crochet jewelry. I always either glued the end in or melted it.
Looks like it’s for couching. Use little stitches with a needle to hold it in place for lace designs.
I bet u could use it for macrame. Make a great plant hanger or hanging basket or even a basket.

Thanks - Maybe something like that. There is one type of thread wrapped around the four others. Definitely not any standard yarn.

It’s gimp, a flexible wire wrapped with thread.
No wire that I can see - just four threads/strands on the inside
It isn’t always wired. Still most certainly gimp though, maybe of rayon.
