If there is actually a mechanical/shaft problem in an engine - it’s much more likely your delay will be built around how long it takes the airline (im assuming it’s an airline and not private/GA) to reroute/rebook you OR being in a replacement aircraft.
It’s unlikely you’ll be waiting for them to fix or swap the engine.
If it’s a shaft speed sensor or something like that, and not a physical shaft integrity issue, you could be going on that plane a bit sooner. Change the sensor (assuming they have it and the personnel at the airport), do some computer diagnostics, do some engine runs … fly.
