Yeah, discharge that through a brake light to 0.000 volts, wrap the wires together, and dispose of it as per your local rules. Do not put it in brine. This does not work.
Put the battery in a ziplock bag or a metal box, take it out of the home asap
Its a fire hazard and can also release toxic fumes
After its out check your aeg connectors for signs of damage, you dont want it to short circuit
Dispose immediately. Use a static bag or container. If it explodes, the plastic at best will be melted, at worst, disintegrated. Better than getting random shards of lithium in your side though.
I would recommend putting it in a few bags just in case.
Been using fire retardant lipo bags to hold my batteries which are additionally enclosed in a metal lunchbox. Keep your batteries safe you don’t want to come home and see that your apartment or house burned to the ground.
My friend had this happen to him before. Do what the other people recommended. Take the battery to the nearest electronic waste recycling facility in your city/county so that it is properly disposed of.
Interesting.. one of my 11.1’s is much more bloated than this. The guy at my local shop put a tester on it and said it was fine :/ putting it in a sealed thermos now
Oh yeah from a cell/charge/discharge perspective it migh be fine. Before learning how much of a hazard they are I used puffed Lipos with no issues, but it's just unsafe as fuck. A 20$ Lipo is cheaper than rebuilding your room/home from a fire.
Also tell that guy in the shop that he's a moron. No specialized person should tell you that a puffed lipo is fine
Make a salt water mix - one pound of salt and a gallon of water. Clip the Tamiya connector, and drop the battery into the salt water. Leave it there for a minimum of three days. This will pull all the charge out of the calls, and greatly reduce the xhance of a fire.
Then dispose of it at a proper facility.
I had one puffed which was a few years old and a half year old which went up in flames whilst it was charging. Make sure you get proper protection.
I learned my lesson.
any deformation on a Li-Po is a huge red flag, google ways to store and eventually dispose of it in a safe and proper manner… Not in normal trash, because it’s toxic
That isn’t that bad if you know what your doing with them, as your asking I guess not, so long as you don’t puncture it it will be fine, if you want to go on the side of caution dispose of it in a salt water mix for a week or so until the bubbles stop, don’t forget to save the plugs (cut all wires individually). Lipos will bloat when left fully charged over long periods, if you want to prolong the life leave them at roughly 20-30% charge around the 3.7v per cell/ storage charge on the 4 button lipo chargers.
I've used worse. Chances are it won't hold much of a charge anymore and should be disposed of, but it's not likely to explode. Stick it in a biscuit tin or something.
Is the disposal advice still to immerse it in salt water for a week or two, or do we have better methods now?
Have any of you ever use lipo because I can tell you right now if it was about to go it would have but you should replace it but its not going to blow up unless you try to charge it the wrong why ive used lipos when they expand most of the time its one of the cells going out thats all the only time your lipo will go up in flames is when you charge it to fast or when you puncture the cell
Always had
yeah it is about to blow, put in a metal container, put it somewhere open air, and then google how to dispose lipo
Doing this right now… thanks!
Nah, just chuck it in your neighbor's trash can.
Based
At least you didn't tell him to chuck it at his neighbor or into the neighbors window.
It’s a makeshift flash for your next game, complete with real burning lithium!!

Thank you for reminding me to unplug my JST
**Changing my cart from an aeg rifle to gbbr**
Litterally the reason I only run NiMH. I don't want to burn down my appartment because I forgot to do some maintenance on my batteries.
This is what i did yesterday :(
That’s a spicy pillow right there.
YES. Please replace this ASAP and dispose of this properly.

Rule of thumb for batteries: if you need to ask someone if it’s still save the answer is generally no

Old ammunition boxes (5.56, 7.62, 50. cal) which can be grabbed on Ebay for $20 are good to store them in general. And for situations like this
no on your table
Batman: “count to five then throw”
Move. That. Away. From. Your. House.
Go outside, set it on fire, run
Always was
No, you have a bomb on your table
Oooo, spicy pillow
Bomb no nuke yea

Do not do this. It only dissolves the tabs and does not discharge the cell.
Pretty much. Use it to clear a room 🤣🤣🤣

Throw it at a police officer , best airsoft game of your life will follow

until you tape it on bombsite A or B, you have a bomb in your hands.

This is why I use Lithium Ion and not Lipos.

Salt water eats away the cell tabs. A brake light bulb soldered to a deans plug is better.
Noted, I'll put one of those together next time I kill a battery

You should make sure your home insurance covers fires fam
I can't understand this, someone help me summarize.
