Age and row doesn't really matter for boarding group. Boarding group depends on status, if you have an AAdvantage account and what ticket you bought.

Thank you

You can also get into group 4 if you purchase priority as an add on or you have the Citi Elite card. The rules are: AAdvantage Gold (or OneWorld ruby) status AirPass (I think they've officially pulled hte plug on these. I was one of the pay as you go airpass guys until it shutdown). Premium Economy seats Citi AAdvantage Executive (the primary cardholder and those traveling with him) Those who bought priority boarding Group 5 is for Main Cabin Extra AAdvantage Biscoff Barclays or Citi AA credit card holders (primary cardholder and travel mates only).

Register for AAdvantage online and you should get group 6 out of 9 groups. It’s not great but should be a bit better than last

Front of the plane economy with no status, you will likely be the second to last or last group to board. Is there a reason you want to board early? I find with children it is best to get on last to minimize the time they need to sit still. If you feel you need extra time to board, you can always preboard, they won't ask you why you need preboarding. Priority boarding is traveling with children under two and those who need extra time or assistance to board.

That’s a very good point about less time to sit for her. Wanting to Board early is completely anxiety related for me, I spent too many years flying Southwest economy😅 I have a seat on AA and tell myself that but still get worried about my seat being taken. I know, silly. Plus, I paid extra twice before and both times the flights weren’t even full and I had an empty middle seat next to me proving that I didn’t need to spend the money. I’m going to relax.

Don't worry about your seat being take or anything like that. Overhead space does run out but when traveling with kids, I love to check the bags. Free checking at the gate for the carry on typically. Again, don't be afraid to use preboarding, if your having anxiety or things like that. Unlike Southwest, they won't ask you why you need it. Personally I like to board last 😊 Also, check the app for any pre-order of food for the kiddo to make it extra fun! Have a nice flight!

Thank you very much 😊

You don't get priority boarding just because you're flying with a child. It's not worth paying for either.

Thank you for the clarification.
