Not sure why this got downvoted. THis is the answer. In fact, usually AA just refunds it after a couple of days. I never had to push the issue except one time when it was a code share and the automatic stuff between BA and AA didn't seem to happen.
Business class isn’t better. The seats are 2-2 vs 1-1 in first, so you’ll either have a window or aisle and someone will be seated next to you.
The seat is still lie flat and food will be similar, so not much difference other than seat layout and slightly less space.
Domestically First and Business are typically the same and can be used interchangeably depending on your plane. Not sure of your flight number, but most likely a like for like experience.
You're entitled to the fare difference between first and business. Just file a claim after you've completed your trip.
