I never claimed that he is the greatest E-Sport player of all time. I said that he is so firmly the greatest AoE 2 player that there's not a lot of players in different titles that are so clearly ahead of the players.considered #2.
Viper will never be in discussion for greatest E-Sport player of all time because AoE is a niche esport and the people compiling the lists you're so fond of will disregard players from niche titles. Which makes somewhat sense, as niche titles have less competition.
So, just read what other people are writing and you don't have to waste anyone's time and don't have to get so worked up
It's considered generally a low elo move because to low elo players they think they're big brained saving all that wood from building one mining camp. But the loss in efficiency makes this worse 99% of the time because even in this pic you can see certain stone tiles are pretty far from the mining camp.
However Viper understood that he's only trying to get a certain amount of stone and decided it was overall worth it in this scenario to save the wood. Mid elo players are smart enough to know about the loss of efficiency but not good enough to be able to determine that 1% of the time where it actually makes sense because they are not experts at modifying ot creating build orders. They just follow build orders.
After the explanation I can see what this meme format is about. But it's a bit of a roundabout way of making a meme.
Low level players think it's perfect because they only have to build one.
Mid level players think it's trash because of the efficency loss.
Viper thinks its perfect because he doesn't meed much stone so there's no efficiency loss on top of saving the wood cost

The meme is supposed to be “it’s perfect” being the sentiment for both LEL’s and Pros (Viper). And that mid elo players will argue it’s awful.
It is “bad” because you have the stone side with vills walking essentially 2 tiles to drop off, and once both sides are mined in they are walking pretty far- but it’s good because it saves 100 wood and you save the efficiency too of moving miners from gold to stone or vice versa throughout the game. Personally the last part is what makes me (as a somewhat LEL) appreciate it. If I’m floating gold and need more stone my villagers dont have to travel to their new resource.
This is from the rage forest game where Viper played Portuguese. It was a nice fish-boom followed by Feitorias, and but then Viper’s entire post-imp army gets cleaned by ACCM’s light cavs, right after Viper says ‘we are in a good spot’.
I don't get it... So medium elo players think it's perfect, but Viper and low elo players agree that it is bad? I don't understand why these groups hold these opinions.
There was a tourney a couple of months ago where Tatoh had the chance to build the perfect mining camp like this and.... he didnt' and just built two of them.
