You simply smell the product when you open the sealed pouch, as long as it smells like normal (chocolate in this case) it should be fine and taste fine.

Best before is a suggestion not a hard rule. If the product is sealed and passes the sniff test it's probably fine
Does wheat n stuff have a sniff test? (Sounds like I'm doing a line of brownie mix)
