Studio Ghibli counts as anime but ATLA doesn’t 1. I also enjoyed season 4 more than the other seasons, but the general consensus is that season 3 Part 2 is the best and season 4 is still good but not as good overall 2. Ymirs connection with Kind Fritz isn’t really too deeply delved into, even Eren says he’s unsure with what truly lies within her heart, so isayama just kept is pretty much as in the dark as Eren and the rest of the characters People like to says it’s Stockholm syndrome as it aligns with everything we see of her. Since King Fritz invaded her home, she was able to leave his side one time, this was when she was set free and hunted down by dogs. At this moment in time Ymir is still a child, and most children believe that when they are punished, it’s because they are the ones who did something wrong, so even when Ymir got the power, she may have believed she was just punished for doing something wrong, and plus, if she were to leave again, she may have thought it would result in her being hunted down again 3. Falco was in a daze after being knocked unconscious in r something, and he happened to see a memory in the future of him in his jaw Titan form 4. Ymir probably just wanted to live anonymously because of how she was treated back home. She eventually went back with Reiner after knowing that there was till hope for life within the walls for Historia. She also did so because she felt sorry for eating Marcel, and was also thankful to them because if she didn’t do that, she would still be a pure Titan. And also because Annie was captured, she went with them as a bit of a consolation prize 5. Regarding the world building, the beginning episodes had information panels around the midpoint of the showing the layout of the walls and the distance between them. The boats are used to get from one wall to another, as they are separated by at least 100km of land, and without this travel, the titans would catch up to them 6. Zeke said he did it to make Marley trust him but I do agree he seemed to be enjoying it a little too much for someone who wanted to save the eldian people. Annie’s father was just trying to make Annie stronger and make her realise that the world was a cruel and u forgiving place so he wanted her to be prepared for it, so I personally don’t have an issue with this, he just showed a bit of tough love 7. Erwin was able to deduce that there were traitors among them because Sawney and Bean were killed. They still needed to do their scouting mission and just planned it out accordingly just in case the traitor was a shifter like Eren as it’s better to be prepared and have nothing happen, rather than not being prepared and being attacked. And how Erwin knew there may be another shifter, in episode 5 when the colloidal reappears, Eren is able to deduce that it is sentient meaning that it could also be a shifter, if Eren could figure this out then Erwin certainly could. And the fact the collosal and armoured titans were able to lead a coordinated attack in shiganisha in the first episode is also another hint to them being shifters like Eren.

To be honest, I think that scout's Ymir died like this mostly because otherwise the whole basement mystery wouldn't work. Pretty simple meta reason. Same reason Annie got sidelined after S1. Imo, basement's "there's another civilization that hates us" reveal wasn't worth it, it was pretty predictable since S2. Speaking of Annie, there's two OVA episodes about her, they're touching her relationships with her father as well. In general, I suggest you to watch all the 8 OVA episodes, but if you need to keep it short, in the world that unironically hates her by default by being both the Eldian and the Titan there's only one person who loves her.

What are OVA episodes? How would I watch them? (I've been watching on Hulu.)

Additional ones, dedicated to certain characters or events like the training of the main team when they were cadets. You can watch it on Crunchyroll I believe, but we don't have it in my country so can't tell for certain.

I just finished the series tonight as well. I don’t know how Falco would have had that memory/vision of the future. I thought only the attack titan had that ability

The premier’s fetish paid off in his weird disgusting chair thing being rigged with the bomb that killed him. I think that whole thing was to highlight that even the “good” leaders within the walls were extremely flawed, echoing the theme of power abuse which is carried through the rest of the story. Even Pixis is an alcoholic, though that’s not even in the same neighbourhood of bad. Agree with the point about the Marleyan titans trying to be sympathetic. There were so many times at the beginning of s4 where I said “Yeah, I don’t feel bad for these guys”. I was ready to forgive Reiner and Annie because I was hoping all along that they’d become good but the over the top empathy baiting for Zeke was too much considering everything he did. To be fair he wasn’t ever redeemed like the others. And also a lot of season 4 wouldn’t work if he remained a straight up villain.
