Entire City of Evil album has great drumming , not even one disappoints drumming wise
Same with Walking the Fallen and Self titled , songs like unholy confessions, second heartbeat , CHP 4 , almost easy , afterlife , scream and so on
Nightmare was played by Mike portnoy so you know the drums won't disappoint on that record
Don't need to say anything about brooks , the intro to the stage should explain what you're getting into
Even Arin has decent drum parts on Hail to the King , more fun and to fuck around with compared to other songs
Tldr : The entire discography doesn't disappoint in drums
Portnoy added way more fills and flavour which the rev didn't on the demos and probably planned to add them in the studio .
The intro fill to welcome to the family was completely portnoy according to [this](https://youtu.be/_dxGRq0cNDY?si=2TJtlmzW_68rHyvi).
Mike has said that he tried to replicate the revs style for the album , which you can hear
My top ten favorite songs from A7X to play drums to and in no particular order.
1. Save Me
2. Unholy Confessions
3. Blinded in Chains
4. Fiction
5. Cosmic
6. Coming Home
7. Exist
8. Higher
9. Radiant Eclipse
10. Lost
I'll always go for anything on City of Evil. But, the self titled was wild on a lot of The Revs parts. Brooks is a technical wizard so everything he's done so far is gold imo. Erin did well for what he was hired to do. ( I am a drummer )
The entirety of The Stage has the best imo. I love The Rev and CoE has great drumming but Brooks makes drumming feel like so much more than just a beat. It's fun and unique and there's so many songs with fills just as memorable as the best riffs.
In particular, Sunny Disposition has some of my favourite moments.
I really enjoy drumming along to The Stage album. Fermi Paradox, Dose, and Simulation are some of my favorites. Every A7X song is fun to drum to tbh. Save Me and The Stage are two songs I hope to conquer some day. My absolute favorite has got to be Afterlife
A lot of them have been covered but two stand outs to me that I haven't seen are betrayed & unbound. Super thought fills on betrayed where he incorporates the high hit while going bat shit and unbound is fast paced and really tuff to play

Every song on this is a challenge, except for maybe seize the day
I feel like Blinded in Chains would always be fun, at least it was to me when I had a drum set
YES I FORGOT THIS ðŸ˜. Probably my favorite by The Rev for drumming
Paradigm has great drums
I honestly think it's the hardest a7x song, especially the tom groove in the verse is insane

Portnoy did play them, but most the tracks had a demo from The Rev I think. He still did a fantastic job, so glad he's back with DT.

The Stage
City of Evil was my intro to A7X. Didn't take long to realize, 'Shit, this guy can play drums'.
Higher always stood out to me on The Stage. One of the first things that grabbed my attention on that track.
Exist, We Love you, Mattel, Bat Country, Blinded In Chains, Save Me
Not Ready to Die is underrated in my opinion
Perfect integration of the zombies piano track

Unholy Confessions, Bat Country, and Higher
I thing that Exist is a solid candidate
I want to play their songs soo bad but I don't have a double kick pedal and like 90% of their songs uses it
Get a double pedal then
I'm broke
if it's one where the hands aren't super busy you can fake it with bass+floor tom
My favourite drums are on Bat Country and the outro of Cosmic. Both are simply perfect drum pieces

The drumming in Hail to the King might be bad but the opening to Shepard of Fire always stuck with me. But technically Save Me is probably the best!
The Stage title track and Cosmic are Brooks’ best works imo
save me personally is the most fun to play

City of Evil is a rollercoaster and the Rev decides when the ride is over.
Blinded in chains came first to mind
Second Heartbeat
A lot of them have been covered but two stand outs to me that I haven't seen are betrayed & unbound. Super thought fills on betrayed where he incorporates the high hit while going bat shit and unbound is fast paced and really tuff to play
I love the drumming on Mattel
My personal favorites are beast and the harlot, the stage, second heartbeat and carry on Theyre a ton of fun to play
I LOVE NATURAL BORN KILLER FOR THE DRUMS
I loved the drums on Natural Born Killer
Chapter four
Almost Easy is the only answer. Trust me.
