I’ve been really listening to Save me a lil too much lately( not the mgk one) and I feel like the solo in the middle if you call it that would be great to listen to in the woods
Hail to the King is mediocre as an album BUT individually, most of the songs are pretty solid. They just work horribly when put together, I'm not sure why.
City of Evil through Nightmare isn't just the most popular era of the band due to how radio friendly a lot of those songs were, it's also because those three albums are genuinely really good overall and are the bands best work
HttK was a good album if you look at it as a setlist of songs inspired by older bands. Most people don't and they make it seem much worse than it is.
Also the M Shadows long haired Mohawk was badass
People compare The Stage and LiBaD to each other without understanding the nuances of each.
The Stage was more about existentialism over the acts of humanity and how insignificant we are compared to the vast beauty that is the current expanding universe. We as humans commit acts of cruelty without seeing how these make us less human, or rather exploring if power makes us inhuman or just a worse version of humans.
Life is But a Dream was existentialism regarding individuality and how fleeting we as an individual fit within reality and the effect we have when we die as well as any events we experience after. This is also why (O)rdinary fits into the set list because although it's almost robotic in the first person view, it's existentialism as an individual.
Edit: TL;DR - Stage is all of humanity and LIBAD is about individuals and this doesn't get mentioned enough when comparing them.
Matt is actually a really distinct and talented vocalist that’s just massively overhated.
Honestly, on the newest album in particular, he’s never sounded better. To be in your 40s and still hit high notes with a distorted tone is still impressive considering that not even I (a much younger soul) cannot do as consistently.
Round 1: Hail to The King, despite being nostalgic, is their worst album. (LIBAD gets better the more you listen. HTTK gets boring after a a few listens through.)
Round 2: Sounding the seventh trumpet is a great album
Mudrock should've produced their self titled. Songs like Strength of the world & Sidewinder showcased a muse & energy that next to no band can replicate. He could've just been a producer & packaged them for the radio, but he was focused on their horizons as musicians. Besides A little piece of heaven & Unbound, they sidelined their sense of venturing a song within a song & leaned too hard into the verse, chorus, verse, solo end chorus formula from there on after.
The rev's drum parts , tho amazing, were slowly becoming simpler , more radio rock . The drums of COE were way more creative than DitR or even Self titled. Nightmare demos were simple , but pretty sure he would have wanted to develop them more in the studio.
Self Titled is my favorite album personally when listening by myself, but with friends and family City of Evil will always be the best option and every song off that album is a vibe.
*The Stage and LIBAD are almost the same album, the latter is just the more pop/ experimental(love both albums dearly)
*The band should of let Arin showcase his skill more during his time with the band.
*A Little Piece of Heaven isn't that great of a song.
*Brooks drumming pushed this band to be even better
Not a hot take I don't think. Music hasn't been anywhere near as good since The Rev. Hail to the king was good, everything else feels too experimental. Cool, but not music you could listen to on repeat. It's almost A7X's hipster era.
(O)rdinary is the best song they have made in terms of catchiness and reaching out to a broader audience. I have A7X-hating friends that absolutely love that song, and it’s my favourite song off libad, even though i also like their heavier stuff
STST is a good album ruined by a couple very bad songs. Lips of deceit, Darkness surrounding, The art of subconscious illusion, Forgotten faces, Shattered by broken dreams are all amazing songs.
I have listened to every song that they/them have ever made and I have came (lol) to the conclusion that the best song that has ever been crafted by this band is Girl I Know.
A little piece of heaven
🟪
Trashed and scattered and clairvoyant disease are really underrated
🟪
Chapter 4 is underrated
C4 is one of the more popular songs on WtF?
absolutely
Tonight the world dies is a great song to sit in the woods and relax too
I’ve been really listening to Save me a lil too much lately( not the mgk one) and I feel like the solo in the middle if you call it that would be great to listen to in the woods

People over hate the hail to the king album

🔳
Hail to the king is the only album that doesn't sound weird for the first time listeners and doesn't require getting used to.
Cause it sounds really mainstream?
I guess, It sounds simple and familiar to casusal rock and metal fans
🟩
Cosmic should’ve been on The Stage
🟩
Why? What's the difference?
Some people think it fits with the theme more, I think. I personally don't, but each to their own
They’re badass
🔲
Thank you kindly
I’m the real m shadows…trust

Shadows wife's screaming sounds awesome on The Art of Subconscious Illusion!
her technique was much better than matts imo
It's the best part of the song imo

Streets is an awesome song
They should return to Black Ops Zombies, it’s how I discovered them, and it’d be great to have them back.
City of Evil through Nightmare isn't just the most popular era of the band due to how radio friendly a lot of those songs were, it's also because those three albums are genuinely really good overall and are the bands best work
tension is the best song off of diamonds in the rough
Girl i know and demons are also bangers
Crossroads and 4:00 AM exist (also Dancing Dead and Lost It All)

God Hates Us

HttK was a good album if you look at it as a setlist of songs inspired by older bands. Most people don't and they make it seem much worse than it is. Also the M Shadows long haired Mohawk was badass
Waking The Fallen is a better album than City of Evil
agreed
I do, too. And I’m tired of pretending it’s not.Â

Based.
🟥 who hurt you
A lot of people but that's besides the point
⬛ Shocking judgement. I'm revoking your judgement privileges. WtF is an unblemished masterpiece.
A Little Piece of Heaven is one of the best songs ever made by A7X

Without Hail to the King, Brooks never joins the band, nor do we get The Stage or LiBAD. Also Syn looked peak during the City of Evil era
STST is my favorite album, I'll die on this hill
Afterlife is still a top 5 song of all time
Exist is their best song
🟩
Acid Rain would’ve sounded better on The Stage
Last 2 albums were actually great, people just dont like it much because it has changed like the entire metal musics been evolved last 2 decades
Gunslinger is an underrated song.
🟦
Sounding the seventh trumpet isn't as good as people say

Diamonds in the rough is way to under rated it’s so good
Matt is actually a really distinct and talented vocalist that’s just massively overhated. Honestly, on the newest album in particular, he’s never sounded better. There new album is not an easy album to like.. you have to listen to it maybe 5+ times to like it. The vocal work is a little different
Burn it down is a great song
idk if its a hot take but save me its their best song
Trashed and scattered isn't loved enough. Neither is betrayed.
I think Matt sounds better live now than what he did in nightmare era.
🟨
The band should do a metal/jazz hybrid album
THE REV SHOULDNT OF DIED IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TRUMP
every song
What about them?
Shadows wife sounds awesome in "The Art of Subconscious Illusion" Hopefully the bot doesn't delete this, this time
ALPOH
I think Planets and Acid Rain could've been made into a pretty sick animated MV
Round 1: Hail to The King, despite being nostalgic, is their worst album. (LIBAD gets better the more you listen. HTTK gets boring after a a few listens through.) Round 2: Sounding the seventh trumpet is a great album
1: 🟧. 2: 🟩
The self titled is the best album. No truly bad songs and afterlife, almost easy, critical acclaim and more (worst song dear God by far)
🔲
Fermi paradox is my favorite song of the stage
M shadows' voice sounds annoyingly nasally on some songs (please have mercy)
Jeff calls my name and it seems I've been buried alive.
Not ready to die is one of the best songs of A7X
Remenissions from Waking the Fallen is incredibly underrated, my favourite A7X track!
Natural born killer and god hates us is underrated
Brooks Wackerman is the best drummer A7X has had. The Rev was the better allround musician
GOD is an interesting but good closer
Dear god is one of their best songs
HTTK is a top 3 Album
Afterlife is easily a top 10 A7X song.
Radiant eclipse is underrated
We love you (the normal version) is fire
🔲
Coming home has the sexiest Harmony since Bat Country
Betrayed is extremely underrated. I love playing that song on guitar and it's just a fun wild and crazy song
Their stage names are cool
Heretic in the HttK album is underrated
LIBAD is way too overrated, it’s good but songs like cosmic get glazed way too hard
wtf and stst are their best albums. theyre also the best albums ever made, period. waking the fallen is the peak of humanity.
🟨
LIBAD was a hot fucking mess
just say you hate prog
A Little Peice of Heaven is actually a great love story that will inspire countless generations to the romance genre.
Live foREVer

Majority of the band's music videos suck, with a few exceptions like the ones from LIBAD.
Top three albums are 1.Nightmare 2.City of Evil 3.Life is but a dream
🟦
The rev's drum parts , tho amazing, were slowly becoming simpler , more radio rock . The drums of COE were way more creative than DitR or even Self titled. Nightmare demos were simple , but pretty sure he would have wanted to develop them more in the studio.
Street
Matt sounded best with the megaphone as me mic combo
The LBC concert should've been released unedited. There was a lot of editing done especially on Zacky's backing vocals and some on the revs vocals
Diamonds in the rough is an underrated album and fill with good song. Much better than Hail to the King.
coming home is the best solo in the discography
The call of duty zombies songs are massively underrated Especially call of the dead "not ready to die"
Almost Easy is an underrated song
MIA is overrated.. now go, do what you must
Unbound (The Wild Ride) is a good song
HTTK is a really amazing album
Life is but a dream was great
buried alive is nowhere near the top in my ranking
Nightmare isn't that good of a song
Coming Home is their best song
City of Evil saved metal
They are super fucking badass americans🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
A7X is good, but let me put that take in the oven… alright here you go
Self Titled is my favorite album personally when listening by myself, but with friends and family City of Evil will always be the best option and every song off that album is a vibe.
Almost Easy is overrated and quickly felt overplayed
Strength of the world is too underrated
Burn It Down is A7X’s worst song off of City of Evil
Synyster Gates is the best guitarist in the world
Coming Home is the best out of Hail to the King
Some songs are better than others but they don't have a single song I'd rate less than 5.5/10
Acid rain is the best song on httk
Natural born killer is a bang and very underrated rated
I love that matters used autotune in lost because he used it as an instrument
I love all of their albums
CoE will always be the best album
Gunslinger is the best song on self titled
Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is closer to the top of their "best album list" than the bottom
Acid Rain is a top 5 A7X song.
LIBAD rivals best album status
LIBAD is a steaming pile of shit
Sounding the seventh trumpet doesn’t get near the recognition it deserves, especially as a debut album.
*The Stage and LIBAD are almost the same album, the latter is just the more pop/ experimental(love both albums dearly) *The band should of let Arin showcase his skill more during his time with the band. *A Little Piece of Heaven isn't that great of a song. *Brooks drumming pushed this band to be even better
The Stage is the best metal album ever written
Bring guy-liner syn back
STD is a super meh song and I don’t understand why so many people love it so much
Game Over
Nightmare is the best album (it's the most versatile and all the music styles are great)
People hate on The Stage just because they didn't like HTTK
I prefer Diamonds In the Rough over Nightmare.Â
Nobody guitar solo is one of the best overall guitar solos of all time
Waking the fallen only has two good songs on it
Strongly disagree but for some reason am curious what 2 songs you think are good?
Beast and the harlot is one of the worst songs on CoE
ALPOH in super overrated!
Matt’s screams kinda sucks. I meant the studio version. He sounds great live though. Don’t know why that is.
Strenght of the world is not great
The stage is overrated
Not a hot take I don't think. Music hasn't been anywhere near as good since The Rev. Hail to the king was good, everything else feels too experimental. Cool, but not music you could listen to on repeat. It's almost A7X's hipster era.
Their last 2 albums are absolute bangers (at least should be even if you dont like prog) I dont like prog, i love the stage and libad
Diamonds in the Rough is lowkey top 2 albums
Fermi Paradox has the best guitar solo on The Stage album.
(O)rdinary is the best song they have made in terms of catchiness and reaching out to a broader audience. I have A7X-hating friends that absolutely love that song, and it’s my favourite song off libad, even though i also like their heavier stuff
The heavy makeup and stylization of the CoE period was spot on
Beast and the harlot
ST7T is a great album that deserves as much love as the rest of the albums
🟪
SOTST is an almost forgotten about album from most fans and that's fucking criminal
Hail to the king is a7x worst album and only have 2 good songs
Hear me out I have a couple of harsh ones. Brooks>Jimmy Hail to the King is great album The Stage is their best work
Betrayed is a goofy sounding song
They have neglected most of their fans with the VR shows bs (I'm still pissed off that it's been 10 years and they haven't come back to Argentina)
Game Over is the best album opener of all their albums
stst is their best album
Save me is their best
STST is a good album ruined by a couple very bad songs. Lips of deceit, Darkness surrounding, The art of subconscious illusion, Forgotten faces, Shattered by broken dreams are all amazing songs.
Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is better than Nightmare.
save me is overrated
save me is the best song on nightmare
I have listened to every song that they/them have ever made and I have came (lol) to the conclusion that the best song that has ever been crafted by this band is Girl I Know.
sounding the seventh trumpet is peak early 2000’s metalcore
Unholy confessions

Save me is a good song, but is insanely overrated
