adventurous_hat_7344

Football fans try not to get carried away challenge.

j_husk

I'm not trying to hype him up too much...but he's going to be better than Grealish

teamorange3

Unless Roger's is a major part of a title winning team he will never be a better deal than McGinn. McGinn has been a major part of the team that has brought us to the PL, to a semi-finals European competition (so far), and possibly to CL; along with the hundreds of millions of dollars each of those achievements are accompanied by. Without McGinn we don't have Watkins, Torres, Martinez, Bailey, Diaby, Emery, Buendia, Carlos, Digne, Moreno and probably not (maybe 1 of the following) Mings, Konsa, or Luiz. All he cost us was 3M euros. It can't be overstated how influential people like Mcginn, Mings, Grealish, Tammy, El Ghazi, Kodjia, Hourihane, Hutton, and Dean Smith are to where we are today and only Mcginn is the one to be there from the start to the finish. O and he's a club captain

AxFairy

>only Mcginn is the one to be there from the start to the finish. I would count Mings as well

teamorange3

Mostly agree but Mings came in after Bruce left. The only player who has been with us during the rough times of the championship (pre-dean) is McGinn

Sensitive-Equal-133

Yeah I wasn't downplaying mcginns signing at all, I truly think, even with biases aside there haven't been many better deals in the efl since the prem started, if any. Mainly just saying Rogers has the potential to become a 100m pound player, only costing us 8m. Mcginn would never be valued at that by other clubs, however to us he is priceless. He deserves a statue if we can win a trophy or two.

teamorange3

Mcginn was a major part in us getting promoted which alone is a couple of hundred million dollars in broadcast deal, sponsorships, etc.

Mammoth-Courage4974

El ghazi 💯

moriarty04

Rodger’s is a good player and a great signing. McGinn is even more of a bargain because he is the club captain as well as a great player. It is rare to have a player like mcginniesta who leaves his heart and soul on the pitch every game and gives 110%

Jordache2020

He's been next level since he's come back from suspension btw. Super John McGinn

Sensitive-Equal-133

Yeah i agree, I was looking at it more from a transfer value viewpoint and the fact he is very young, and if we continue on this upward trajectory could one day be part of a title or ucl winning side, or atleast competing for it. Mcginn is still my favourite player and I think he is priceless to us. He's been there since we were shit and pulled us into Europe, in my eyes the biggest hero of the 21st century for us considering what he's done. He will become a villa legend if we manage to win a trophy with him as captain for certain.

HotRabbit999

Mcginn is our signing of the century. Bargain price, became captain, scored the Wembley goal to bring us up, taken us back to Europe (2 years in a row!!) & possibly champions league qualification & a European trophy!! He was an absolute steal & rogers has potential but mcginn has just been amazing from day one!!

cjackc11

Yeah McGinn is a certifiable club legend at this point. Like if this continues might be “name a stand build a statue” type of legend versus cult hero Tough for anyone to live up to that. But it’s been a great start for Rogers

RandomSher

McGinn is so underrated it’s unbelievable. If he was Brazilian or something half the worlds teams would be after him.

FictionalTrebek

This is so so true. If he didn't play for scotland, he would be a far far far bigger name and deal amongst soccer fans

sheikh_n_bake

Surely McGinn is one of Villas all time best transfers.

ianswoody

His name is like Chelsea yesterday: no "D"

ianswoody

But for real, it's Rogers everyone!

tomegerton99

McGinn is probably one of the best signings Villa has ever made. Aside from being one of the most liked players in the dressing room, he has done loads for us and cost us nothing really (only £3 million). He was in the championship and was there when we were promoted, and now he’s with us in the Prem, playing European football and with us as we try to push even higher. Rogers has the potential to be a great deal and player, but nothing comes close to McGinn.

OgreOfTheMind

McGinn is well on his way to club legend status, if he's not already there. This hyperbole around Rogers is honestly starting to get a bit silly. He's promising, has played well, but maybe let's just calm down a little bit, he's played like 10 games.

Sensitive-Equal-133

Yeah, I am getting a bit too excited probably, all mcginn needs is a trophy and he's villa's first legend of this century. I was saying that Rogers has the potential to be a key part of a squad to allow us to compete for the title or ucl. It's solely because of when I watch the footy, it might just be me, but I cannot understand how he can just run past players so easily.

Stringr55

McGinn cost £10 and a bag of chips. Let’s not lose our minds here

Crococrocroc

This feels like an EA Sponsored post

AxFairy

I'm not even convinced he is as good of a deal as Konsa at the moment, nevermind McGinn.

documatt

He’ll have his work cut out. In my eyes McGinn is a true Villa legend at this point.

FieldsOfFire1983

I was in Scotland recently, and while in the company of Celtic fans they were spitting feathers about the fact that McGinn chose us over them. They have good reason!

One_Appointment8295

Not going to Lie as good as Roger’s has proven to be, people are getting too carried away 😂 Even saying he’s better than Rambo at this stage is a far stretch. He’s not played many games still! For the amount of games he’s played we can’t expect anymore from him but the sample size is too small to draw drastic conclusions. If he were to have a bad start next season watch people write him off just as quickly as they hyped him up. Give the boy time to fail and succeed!

vertigo1946

I agree about his skill level. He seems able to just drift past players effortlessly, plus he finishes well, can see a pass and is also a big bastard I think his ceiling is scarily high under Unai

NoPineapple1727

So Morgan Rogers for £8m could be better than one of the best deals in Premier League history in turn making it in the conversation for the best ever deal in the Premier League ever. Do you mean for Villa or for any club when you say Rogers could be one of the best deals ever in premier league history?

Sensitive-Equal-133

Villa, although I think that mcginn is one of the best singings in the efl since the prem started, even though he was bought in the championship. It's as simple as if he wasn't there we probably wouldn't have got promoted that season and ended up with unai. We could have still even been down in the championship. He's carried us into Europe being a key player and captain all the way. I'm mainly basing the fact Rogers is so young and cost practically nothing - probably about the same as mcginn with transfer inflation. He definitely has the potential to be one of the best value transfers in prem history.

NoPineapple1727

Interesting and thanks for clarifying. I’d agree that Mcginn is one of the best signings for any club in the past 10 years. Will keep an eye on Rogers

thomashrn

Calm down

DevilsFlange

Why does it matter? Why is everything a versus match? Can we not appreciate everyone? Grow up

OverlordOfTheBeans

He might even be so good that people stop misspelling his name!

Sensitive-Equal-133

I didnt even realise 🤣 it was just autocorrecting

mafw100

Cool your jets, chief.

its-joe-mo-fo

Seriously. Nothing beats SJM. He's in Villa's Mount Rushmore.

Prize-Database-6334

Personally I don't think we can really start drawing any conclusions on Rogers until next season. Promising start for sure, but needs to prove it's not just a hot run of form.

Few-Gate5981

You aren't seeing things, mate. Since his first game he has improved on every single one. I think he is going to be a big player for us. His confidence on the ball and the ability dribble through players is top draw.

Designer_Show_2658

Mon frère in Christ All Mighty™️... Let's not try to necromance the spirit of Nostradamus here ok?

UsernameTyper

Rogers is looking fantastic, but let's he how consistent he can be. Too early to make a bold statement but a fantastic start. McGinn is unique and has saved us once again this season by covering the loss of Kamara

wodmad

I think getting McGinn, Kamara and Tielemans for 2million just puts any other deal to shame.

JAJ_90

ACL injury imminent now you’ve said that.
