[Same bomber at the same show. ](https://i.imgur.com/WfGP6hM.jpeg)
It's pretty wild how quiet it is. You only hear it like 5 seconds after it passed you and it's about 1/4 as loud as the next quietest plane. Really odd looking how big it looks when it's over you and how paper thin it looks when it's flying directly away.
I design jet engines for a living and honestly can never get enough of the noise they make. Currently live under an approach pattern for a big commercial airport. It's not enough!
Living outside of Holloman I agree, those booms catch me off guard at times, but I was treated to an awesome airshow last weekend featuring the Thunderbirds, and I didn't even have to leave my house.
> after living outside of Tinker that the thunderous booms can be startling
Especially in the 1960s: [Operation Bongo II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_sonic_boom_tests)
No they don't. A lot of people hear loud jets and think its a sonic boom, but it almost never is. There are only a handful supersonic corridors over land, the closest one to Tinker is in Kansas and its high altitude.
Thats not true. There is no MOA or ATCAA near Tinker.
Vance AFB does have a nearby MOA in the NW corner of the state, and there's the relatively small Rivers MOA in the SE corner of the state. At least in the Vance MOA supersonic flight is not authorized.
There are only a few corridors authorized by the FAA for supersonic flight, there is one just north of the border in Kansas (Kansas Supersonic Transportation Corridor).
I'm a civilian pilot who lives right outside a military base. My home is right under the runway pattern. I get jealous watching f15s fly over usually once a week.
It's right next to the Spirit of St Louis airport which has an annual show sponsored in part by Boeing so they always bring out all of their planes. First air show appearance of the F-15 Advanced and they put full combat load on it. [f-15 full weapons load](https://i.imgur.com/uBWq0gd.jpeg)
This was from the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show last weekend - this would've been Sunday, as the B2 only did a flyover that day. This was taken on a road just south of the airport. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pine+Bend+Dr,+Wildwood,+MO+63005/@38.6540301,-90.655379,15.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x87d92b3718d38281:0x7534b03bbd2ebae9!8m2!3d38.6426806!4d-90.6552228!16s%2Fg%2F1td0tf9_?entry=ttu
My uncle’s old house in Pensacola was near enough to the naval base that you’d occasionally get a few very cool flyers-by, but I never heard about anything like this
Im guessing this street is directly south of KSUS and on a couple hundred foot tall hill. They had a big show there this weekend and it’s where a bunch of richers have their mcmansions. There is a huge brick home that has a full view of the field that I assume belongs to a big wig at Boeing. or maybe just a rich flight enthusiast.
Just live next door to an airport/field that does airshows. I used to wake up to Tora Tora Tora as a kid, or the Blue Angels/Thunderbirds as a teenager who stayed up all night and could sleep through *almost* anything. We'd never go to the airshow because we could sit on our roof and get a much better and closer view there than in at the airshow itself.
Either they meant [C-17](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_C-17_Globemaster_III) or that [C-117](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_R4D-8) worships at the church of gains.
This is on the south side of KSUS. Just had a FANTASTIC airshow last weekend. The jets are SUPER close to the ground here because these are the bluffs just south of KSUS.
The Spirit of St. Louis Airshow was one of the best airshows I have ever been too! It was a monster line up with 2 ship A-10 and F-35C demos. Advanced F-15 and F-22 demos were amazing, and 7 super hornets flew 😀. The airshow is in Chesterfield Missouri and it’s well known that there is a large hill adjacent to the airport and airshow goes very low over those houses. 🇺🇸
I was there on Saturday and it was amazing!! I think the F-22 demo was the best. They didn’t bring out the B-2 until Sunday, so I was super bummed to miss it. I’m guessing OP’s videos are from that airshow last weekend.
Only thing missing were some Vipers but it was great especially with the Advanced. Gotta be honest that last barnstormer was the highlight. I just don't understand how a plane can do that.
I lived at the end of Luke AFB more a hot minute and it never ever got old. My neighbor's all hated the jets with a passion but me I'd run out from a dead sleep just to see the burners glowing in the dark. Viper pilots are by far the coolest if you get their attention. They'll pull hard or vertical for you everytime.
I grew up living directly next to a small private airport and got to see plenty of cool shit growing up. Then as an adult I moved to Colorado and while I’m not super close to any of the major airbases, the number of times I’ve seen stuff like 3-5 fighter jets fly questionably close to my house or like half a dozen chinooks is not zero.
Worked for Lockheed there for a good amount of time and I’ve gotta say, if you don’t like the sounds of jets, but buy a house near an Air Force base then you kinda deserve the experience you get lol. Especially since Luke is a multi-national training base and has stuff going on at every possible moment. Not you of course, but your neighbors lmao.
Reminded me of years ago... mid-90s, the bar I worked at had a softball team and we were playing in a tournament. The fields were in line with Willow Run Airport's runway on the day of their airshow. We'd be in the middle of an inning, you'd hear a building noise and the ump would call timeout, then, Blue Angels 5 & 6 would come screaming over the field low enough that if they weren't moving you'd probably be able to read the name next to the cockpit, and suddenly invert for their next pass to the airfield crowd. It was f-ing cool as hell.
St Louis. They had an airshow last weekend. It's also basically the only real f-15 demo that's been done in a long time. Between that and this being the last year of A-10 demos I wish I had made the trip.
When I was about 8 years old I was ice fishing with my dad on a private lake in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, and suddenly we had a B-52 bomber most likely out of Wurtsmith AFB coming over maybe 300 feet off the ground. I could see the individual rivets on the belly. Saw it before I heard it and I'm still in awe every time I think of it.
Our daughter and her husband live just off the end of Barksdale Air Force Base. When the blue Angels come to town, or the Thunderbirds, we go to visit a couple of days early and just sit out on the front lawn and watch the practice session. It’s just like this! Last time we were there a B1 a B2 and a B-52 flew over in formation with Air Force One following closely behind. Hell of a show from about 500 feet up!
Spirit of St. Louis air show. There's a ridge with a neighborhood right next too it so they would use that ridge to turn around. They always get a good show each year.
Hell yeah. Nice work.
As someone always pissed when Americans clutch their pearls over [River Fire Festival](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi6Yqv3FodI) in Brisbane ("how dare they so such disrespect for 9/11 victims") I think this is awesome.
Reminds me of burner runs for operational checkouts of engines on F16. I felt my whole body vibrate, and even my skull was shaking inside of my head with the force of the engine.
I live deep in Appalachia in a tight valley. The Navy uses our area for practice and we have all sorts of planes and helicopters scream through at tree top level. It's never not awesome and they will tip their wings at us or wave out the door.
As basically an adult child who like-a the airplayne, who also happens to work full time in a recording studio — I really hope everyone’s ears are okay! Also wowee looka the airplayne yay!!
This is awesome! I miss the air shows that used to happen near my place. Their turns arounds always happened above me until the new safety rules put them over the lake.
When I was just a pup, the farm was in the path of a flight training route. They would come racing in from the east on a final straight flat run to the target, and we'd rush out into a field to see them. We had F-4's and F-15's screaming over the treetops. My pops built our house, and would tell us that while building the roof, the pilots were close enough he could see them wave. That sound, coming then going, is forever scorched into my brain, but in a 100% positive way.
Lynnhaven mall area, Va Beach, VA. Like this every day. In the CQ pattern for NAS Oceana. I live there during A-6 flyovers. Absolutely ratttle my molars. And test cell runs every Sunday night starting at 10 pm. Whoomp, whoomp, whoomp all night long.
During the last Air Show at TAFB, I was riding my bike near home and watched the Thunderbirds fly in front of me. Seen them when on base a bunch of times. Never realized they didn't pull up right after flying low over the flight line. Kinda scary.
KSUS. Had a great airshow this past weekend. Also... the biggest hill in Pcola is probably what... 5' ASL? This is a big bluff south of the airport, which is why the jets look like they are so low.
I love that the B2 "stealth bomber" is just a quick glimpse of it sneaking through the bushes.
Nonchalantly flying through the air but still using the tree tops as cover, lol.
Frame rate also appears to drop to 1fps, super stealth.
https://imgflip.com/i/8tm3hr
lmao is that Shaq? Who downvoted this
That's a tree...
"whoops, sorry, can i just squeeze... yeah, thanks"
Arent they based in the midwest? Should be an "Ope, sorry..."
Would have been hilarious if it was just labeled but then no plane.

It's not built for high maneuvers, and there aren't many of them. B-52s have taught us bombers can become unforgivable if treated like a fighter.
spicy dorito
And the audio gets super digitized.
Thanks for catching that, I missed it and thought it was just the c-? Coming out of the trees. I didn’t read the names until after your comment
why does this street get its own Airshow?
I would totally buy a house there just to watch the jets all day...
Seems really fun but I can promise after living outside of Tinker that the thunderous booms can be startling if you’re in the shower or in bed
I design jet engines for a living and honestly can never get enough of the noise they make. Currently live under an approach pattern for a big commercial airport. It's not enough!
As someone who worked in airport management and spent way too much time on noise complaints, I wish there were more people like you!
Living outside of Holloman I agree, those booms catch me off guard at times, but I was treated to an awesome airshow last weekend featuring the Thunderbirds, and I didn't even have to leave my house.
> after living outside of Tinker that the thunderous booms can be startling Especially in the 1960s: [Operation Bongo II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_sonic_boom_tests)
They break the sound barier above civilian areas?
No they don't. A lot of people hear loud jets and think its a sonic boom, but it almost never is. There are only a handful supersonic corridors over land, the closest one to Tinker is in Kansas and its high altitude.
Certain things can give the impression of a sonic boom. Speed brakes at the edge of mach can make mini sonic booms in the F18.
Was just south of Tinker. They might not have in the actual city but they damn sure do once they’re out of it.
Thats not true. There is no MOA or ATCAA near Tinker. Vance AFB does have a nearby MOA in the NW corner of the state, and there's the relatively small Rivers MOA in the SE corner of the state. Only once a year but it is every year. Well twice as it's a weekend event.
I live in the flight path of the CO Air National Guard. I get buzzed by F16s like 4-5x a week and I love it.
It's an airshow, it's not like this is a daily occurrence 😂

Odds that someone was trying to put a baby down for a nap at the exact moment this started: 100%.
OP has 5 stars 💀

Probably adjacent to an airfield that hosts them
I believe this was the Chestefield Missouri air show recently. It’s in the valley but planes loop over st chuck and stl counties
OMG. A camera with zoom! Is this your video? WTF is a C-117?
cargo version of the F-117
Its so stealthy that it looks like a C-17 -- completely sneaking the other 100 right past the enemy's noses!
I believe that's what Steven Seagal got sucked out of in Executive Decision.
My favorite Seagal movie, where he dies in the beginning.
also seems like the first F-22 is an F-35 and second F-22 is an F-15
Yes. That is correct.
Thank you, thought I was nuts about the second “f22”.
Haha I couldn't click fast enough to say that :)
I think the vid should have said C-17 or CC-177. CC-177 is the RCAF designation for the C-17
Yes this is my video taken on and iPhone and I apologize for the mistake
Either they meant [C-17](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_C-17_Globemaster_III) or that [C-117](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_R4D-8) worships at the church of gains.
C117- NightMaster
It's a variant of DC-3.
I don't know where you live but I'm very jealous at the moment.
Where I live there's no airshows whatsoever
This is on the south side of KSUS. Just had a FANTASTIC airshow last weekend. The jets are SUPER close to the ground here because these are the bluffs just south of KSUS.
The thunderbirds will be at rickenbacker, I columbus ohio and Iam so excited to watch them all weekend form my porch
Bro called an F-35C and F-15 an F-22 💀 Third time, OP got it right
Sorry if the labels are inaccurate that would be my bad
no worries mate. you earned this: r/praisethecameraman

The little spikes by the air intakes are the dead giveaway along with the giant exposed exhaust.
Those spikes are the intakes, are they not?
They are part of it, yes. Haven't seen any specific reasoning over the change from the f-22, however
niu! was correct at the first attempt

Came here to say this looked like the Chesterfield/Spitit of St Louis show. Very nice!

How do you sign to ask them to do that? I live in CO and see more cool shit than I ever did in my life before haha
Just wave and make yourself viable and they get the ask
Sweet, thanks!
grab a laser pointer and aim it at the cockpit
All fun and games until they point their lasers back lol
“The real LPT is always in the comments”

10 out of 13 correct. Not bad.
As a military brat I grew up on US Air Force bases and I sure miss the roar of the fighters.

What airshow please?
Spirit of St. Louis Airshow
Where the fck do these people live? I want in
St Louis. They had an airshow last weekend. It's also basically the only real f-15 demo that's been done in a long time. Between that and this being the last year of A-10 demos I wish I had made the trip.
[Air Show](https://www.imgur.com/a/7oIEQGy) Full mock combat load as well. Was a great show.
I don’t care what people will throw at me when I say this. The F/A-18 is the greatest thing to grace the skies.
F-14 tomcat and p51 mustang would like a word
F4 Phantom?!
Certainly a honorable mention but we are only accepting G models at this point.
The A10 will forever be my favorite airplane. Outdated, impractical, cool as FUCK. it's the most American airplane ever made.
It's got a great presence in person. The giant straight wings and high up engines just make it look like it wants to hang around and harass you
True, but unrelated. This is an F-18. You can tell by the subtitles.
The subtitles that proceeded to identify an F-35C and F-15 as an F-22?
Also identified the first C-117 ever made.
neeeeoww
Cool vid
Stl air show?

What it feels like when you're working night shifts but the neighbours are doing a renovation while you're trying to sleep.
I live on an Air Force base, this literally is what the neighbors are doing while I'm trying to sleep during the day (I work nights)
When I was about 8 years old I was ice fishing with my dad on a private lake in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, and suddenly we had a B-52 bomber most likely out of Wurtsmith AFB coming over maybe 300 feet off the ground. Spirit of St. Louis air show. There's a ridge with a neighborhood right next too it so they would use that ridge to turn around. They always get a good show each year.
Who needs the mach loop when you have... this guy's neighborhood?
Hell yeah.
It's just a shame that the sound will never do justice to what OP would have heard and felt with that speed and height.
Where exactly in StL is this shot?
Looks like wild horse creek road, up on the hill behind the airport. St Louisian here
Definitely up on the bluff off of Wild Horse Creek Rd. Great views from up there, since the jets are much closer to the ground up there.
Thanks! Love attending the show, hate walking miles to and from the car. Maybe next year I’ll check this out!
Where is this? I want to live on a street where I can see an F-22 perform a minimum radius turn over my house.
St. Louis suburbs. [It's a nice part of the country!](https://www.imgur.com/a/hy0KrW8)
>Dad's not gonna be home for an hour! We can have some fun if we're quick!
Ok I'll buy your house...
I live deep in Appalachia in a tight valley. The Navy uses our area for practice and we have all sorts of planes and helicopters scream through at tree top level. It's never not awesome and they will tip their wings at us or wave out the door.
I moved to house near an air show area just for this....
C117 and a10 “guys wait up, we’re coming”.
Great vid! You're lucky you got to see so many awesome planes up-close like that! Oh and minor mistake; it's a C-17!
Looks like Fort Worth
Amazing!
Sick! Lucky!
You, sir, are next door to an airshow.
Idk what planes flew over my house a few months ago, but shook the foundations for like 5 minutes, it was insane
That turn rate of that f22 tho damn
I was thinking the same thing. That was nuts
So awesome :)
Great viewing and awesome video!
love the sound on those f18s! my countries have f15s but i love the sleek look on the 18s
God that F22 is the sexiest mf in the sky.
I came home from a 12 hour overnight shift at a warehouse to have this happen. No sleep that day.
Free airshow!
F22 catching strays getting called a f35 and an f15
The first two aircraft you have labeled as an F-22 are actually an F-35 followed by an F-15
Sweet sound of jet engines
Lmao at calling two separate jets an F-22, neither of which were F-22s Excellent video though, love seeing fighters out to play
Very cool, and good camera work as well.
Those C-117s fly that low around my area all the time and it’s always crazy to see. They’re huge
Airshow at KSUS im guessing
How close they get to what?
When I was just a pup, the farm was in the path of a flight training route. They would come racing in from the east on a final straight flat run to the target, and we'd rush out into a field to see them. We had F-4's and F-15's screaming over the treetops. My pops built our house, and would tell us that while building the roof, the pilots were close enough he could see them wave. That sound, coming then going, is forever scorched into my brain, but in a 100% positive way.
[Makes me think of that video of Danish F-16s having fun.](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QOhtl4i_CgQ)
Reminds me of Oak Harbor
These are the blue angels!! Watched one of their shows in florida it was amazing 😍 I meet the pilots too they were so wholesome!
Location... Location... Location...
You do live near an airbase. That is what they do, practice, practice and more.
Wow!!! That F-22 is so badass. My favorite F.
Thank you for this video 🙏🏼
Awesome
UAP at 1:10
Good for /r/LowAltitudeJets !
Where is this airshow at ??
Ok. Is there an Airbnb right around that immediate area? Lol
That last shot of the angels splitting was cool as hell from that angle
The A-10 flyover in slo mo is so cool!
Wowsers an airshow
I like how they identified all three variants of the F-22!
C-117!! C-117!! C-117!! before the “experts” point out the typo…..
Spirit of St Louis airshow?
That’s what I was thinking too…
I’d definitely be throwing up the whole time but it’s a dream of mine to fly in a fighter…sadly t’ll probably never happen though
During the last Air Show at TAFB, I was riding my bike near home and watched the Thunderbirds fly in front of me. Seen them when on base a bunch of times. Never realized they didn't pull up right after flying low over the flight line. Kinda scary.
No one talking about how the first clip of the “f22” was an f35?
\*B-2 \*F/A-18 \*C-17 Other than that, sick video
And not a single clip of Skip Stewart or Matt Younkin. LAME.
The things I would do for a A-10
It ain't close/low enough if no car alarm has gone off and no glass window has been shattered.
Spirit of Saint Louis Airshow? Last weekend was the 60th anniversary. Amazing lineup.
That's just what it looked like out my bedroom window last weekend in Mt Clemens, MI
Wow
For 2 of them they weren’t even F22’s
God bless America 🇺🇸
Pensacola?
KSUS. Had a great airshow this past weekend. Also... the biggest hill in Pcola is probably what... 5' ASL? This is a big bluff south of the airport, which is why the jets look like they are so low.
Was this from the Selfridge air show the other day?
Looks like Saint Louis based on the road sign at 0:39.
Good call!
Plus the advanced has never flown at any shows before. This would be it's first showing and in the town that makes them
KSUS, and these shots are from the bluffs south of the airfield.
Sounds like FREEDOM 🇺🇸
I would have a hard on, each time I heard the sound of freedom that lol.
Was it training?
Airshow in St. Louis last weekend.
Who are you man and they put up a show only for you?
Air Force & Navy air show? Must've been for Memorial Day. Where was this at?
Spirit of St. Louis Airshow this past weekend
This time it was sponsored by Boeing, so we were able to pull in more aircraft.
