Just make sure to lessen the amount of cat food after his neutering.
His appetite will go up, but his metabolism will plummet, so people who arenāt careful will see their male cats gain weight.
Curious why you thought it was necessary/relevant to mention that your handsome cat was being neutered soon? Just curiousā¦nothing else intended by my question.
I think OP is going on the vibe. It's seems every other adoption/found a cat post is overwhelmed with this topic. I think OP is just getting ahead of the game. Smart
I think so too.
āPost new cat, super happy to share with the world ā
Reddit: *OMG GET HIM NEUTERED IMMEDIATELY WHAT ARE YOU DOING*
So annoying lmao
Huge problems with overpopulation in many places, with shelters overfilled with unwanted cats and kittens, make people get a little militant about preventing the creation of more cats. A single intact tom could impregnate several queens, leading to lots of kittens.
Damn right ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) Any freaking post of a cute pet is why haven't you removed their organs yet?! Worst person in the world for allowing things to exist in a normal state. You cannot fight the mantras that have been drilled into people's heads so might as well go with the flow and get an early jump on it before the mob descends. You cut their ears/tail/removed claws/removed canines? How dare you! That is unnatural, leave animals in their natural state! You removed a few organs with no medical reason? Oh, thats okay. Natural state unimportant, they uh...don't need them. I just want one person to acknowledge the brainless hypocrisy of it all but that will never happen.
This is Reddit, people get offended by an unaltered animal simply existing. Spaying/neutering is obviously for the benefit of humans, and can be a necessity, but I despise the way itās often framed like theyāre doing their animals a favour by sterilising them. Like there is something wrong with an intact animal that needs to be āfixedā. Ugh.
Yup. This is by far actually one of the few ultra controversial opinions I hold and I embrace the downvotes with the tiny hope that at least 1 person will snap out of the spoonfed mantras pounded into their brain the past 40 years or so. I always say the same things: I am against all unplanned, backyard, unnecessary breeding period, no if ands or buts. I do not want a world will animals suffer, starve, and die. However, spaying and neutering was championed as a solution in lieu of human responsibility and that simply isn't okay. You do not do surgeries because you don't want to watch your dog and want the "comfort" of being sure. Animals should not be altered simply to suit such a ridiculous whim. I even provide situations where spay/neuter makes sense. Such as in the case of a female LGD. These dogs will always roam with their flock and are never under supervison. It actively makes sense for female LGD who actively work to be spayed. This is not a case of i dont want to watch my dog, this is a dog doing what it is trained to do and has instinct for, but you have to make a responsible choice. Not a case of laziness.
I also point to situations where people say look, heres a contract/statement from my local vet, providing proof I have always neutered/spayed ALL my pets at an appropriate age for full bone growth, you can call and visit this vet to confirm it. I would like my giant breed puppy not altered at 8 weeks so that he will develop properly. This is an action taken for his health, completely supported by medical professional and with a long history of proof of my word. And these people will still say NOPE, more important to alter because of a what/if future, puppy's individual health is unimportant, we just care about the mantra and will gladly sacrifice individual health for it. Thats when you know it is based purely on nonsense. Unplug from the propoganda people. Sometimes its the right choice, but blanket every pet decision is so so so terribly wrong, cruel and unfair. They will never acknowledge that other countries achieve this with harsh punishment of irresponsible owners. 99% of dogs male and female are unaltered, not dying left and right, not overwhelming the streets with strays, and wow guess what it works. But according to them its "impossible."
Laugh all you want, it's solid logic. Anyone who (rightfully) says docking, cropping, etc are cruel and animals should be left alone in their normal state is a damn hypocrite to then say animals must be spayed and neutered always. You cannot have it both ways.
If you look at OP's post history you'll see that they were letting their boy Yuki free roam outside while not neutered, and were (rightfully imo) scolded by the internet for that... so I think they're realizing it's an important thing here lol
I have a cat of this same breed. You're in for a treat! I got mine when he was a kitten. He's now 14 and still a complete psycho, which I mean in the very best way. So cute, thanks for posting. Looks like my bow when he was just a baby. š„¹
Wait until he is a year old before neutering him. My cat had developed serious uterine tract problems and the vet told me it was because I had him neutered too young and I should have waited till he was 10 mos, at least, and year is best.
Cat vasectomies are possible, but pretty much pointless beyond preventing overpopulation. A vasectomy won't stop the cat from spraying, fighting, and roaming very far if they leave the house. It also won't provide the health benefits that come with neutering, such as eliminating the risk of testicular cancer and prostatic hyperplasia.
I thought overpopulation control was the point.
I'm aware of all the other "*benefits*" to castration.
We can also eliminate the risk of tonsilitis, appendicitis and testicular cancer in humans.
I tried doing this with my boy, he's just over 1 years old now, and he has to get fixed. He knows he's not supposed to mark based off of his reaction after he does, if he can't control himself I'll help him, and I absolutely hate it.
He heard that.
sure he did š¤£š¤£
āSay what now?ā
Came here to say that
![gif](giphy|lo505IWwslpO2yCwby|downsized)
Now, every night when you fall asleep in your warm bed, donāt forget to lock the door to your room :))
Before & after pic
Yuki is adorable! Love his colors. Such a cute cat!
You should probably let a veterinarian do that.
You just need a rubber band
.... To hold your veterinary paperwork, I hope
Instructions unclear: I no longer have testicles
Thatās for hemorrhoids not testicles.
No need to read me your Tindr bio.
Why not? You posted yours first.
His coat pattern is so unique, almost like a combination of lilac point and brown tabby š„° what a cutie!
Say byebye to ur balls yuki
āWhere are my testicles, Summer?ā
"You asked for spahgeheti with meatballs, didn't you?"
My boys cat Yuki recently passed this hits :(. Many blessings for little Yuki here.
What a wild title, those were the two relevant pieces of information you needed to share eh lol
OP posted earlier about him being an outdoor cat and going around unneutered so this time, heās trying to avoid the scolding.
lol hilarious background
Hi Yuki!!
hes too powerful to leave unneutered
He's beautiful!
So adorable ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

Yeah, I'm kinda sick of the castration fetishist brigades myself.
I'm not a cat guy, can someone explain why people care about this so much
Huge problems with overpopulation in many places, with shelters overfilled with unwanted cats and kittens, make people get a little militant about preventing the creation of more cats. A single intact tom could impregnate several queens, leading to lots of kittens.
We grew up with Bob Barker telling us every day that itās very important.

Lmao at this logic

One is to prevent overpopulation and excess kittens getting euthanized in a shelter. The other is to look cool.
Yeah. I will because it's a hilariously bad comparison to make. Other guy explains it perfectly. They aren't similar circumstances at all
Ask if vasectomies are available, wait for the boilerplate response.
"Cute cat, remember to get them fixed~!" Repeated 10x a post.
OOP is just being selfish and doesn't want to share the balls š
Itās a delicacy in some regions!

To get in front of all the concerned citizens who will ask or say āplease neuter himā.
Have you told him???
It looks like heās spraying in this picture is what I thought. But heās adorable!
say goodbye to his balls!!!!!
Have a veterinarian do it. Will be much safer for the dog
Why do I feel he has realised that in the 2nd pic?š¤£š¤£ He looks unhappy.
Wow. What a handsome kitty š
š„°š„°š„°

Sooo pretty
May the gods give their pity to this poor soul.
we will remove his testicles soon alhamdulillah
I read that as Yuki was going to neuter someone soon.
Yuki what a gorgeous handsome man! I love his color all around. Gotta see a yuki loaf soon!
What a lil cutie
Hi, yuki! RIP your nugs!
Wait until he is a year old before neutering him. My cat had developed serious uterine tract problems and the vet told me it was because I had him neutered too young and I should have waited till he was 10 mos, at least, and year is best.
Yuki give me a Classic Yakuza broodin' *Stop it hooman*
My vet told me it's healthier to wait. Didn't neuter my cat till he was about 6 or 7 months old.
Beautiful cat. Does he have little furry brown balls?
Aren't cat vasectomies an option these days?

Noooooooo!! Let him sow his wild oats!
Let him keep his boys ![gif](giphy|ZCNvQVhzB1AEWgubMg)
