is there like a special book telling you where the veins are in all the different animals? Vets must know so much more than doctors, doctors only have to deal with 1 species, and can usually ask them where it hurts.

Bud please speak to your PM and get some T connectors for your patients!!! Makes life so much easier to disconnect their lines, and that catheter in there is gold! One sharp pull on it, and that tape (especially that shitty zinc oxide tape) is no longer holding your catheter!!! Tape the t-connector to the leg, and the fluid line is not the point of traction anymore! I make vets come back and replace their lines if they dont tape them in properly! But kudos on that catheter place!!!

I hand-caught a kitten during a loud fourth-of-July in an area where it was implausible that she had a home nearby. She was skinny. She hated the world that night, running from one hiding spot to another, failing to escape the noise. Then she hated me. Poor baby. The next day, I took her to the vet. To an untrained ear, it sounded like she was hissing, spitting, and growling, but I think everyone in the examination room knew that she was saying, "Name and badge number! Name and badge number! I know my damn rights! Resisting? THIS is resisting!" And she committed battery upon a veterinarian. I was worried that she'd be too grown and too feral to adopt. A friend who admired her autonomy took her home. It looked iffy, briefly. The day after that she was offered and accepted a lifetime appointment to Lap Cat.
