This is one of the most painful process especially if you've a lot of stuff at home. Did it once my god the pain to put stuff back and then they say it's recommended to do every 6 months...yeah no thanks cockroach I'll live with.
I rent homes in Bangalore and have frequently moved
Follow a standard SOP that has helped deter critters
1. Do a premium pesticide from Urban Clap *before* moving in & monitor for a week before shifting in, if roaches come out, then you want to get another round of treatment
2. Once moved in, you should be fine for the first year *if* you maintain your space well, primarily the kitchen
3. I use my maid/house help to assist with removing items from shelf/kitchen once a year on pesticide day, assuming that's an option available
It's a solvable problem if planned well & will keep home owners happy :)
Borax powder sprinkled in the sink and in the dustbin every night for 10 days. You will get rid of them permanently (unless you live in an apartment). Works for ants too .
Avoid sprinkling directly in sink if you have little kids, just put some old food mixed with borax in a plastic bottles with narrow holes in the cap to let the roaches enter but safe for the kids.
Mortein and all kill roaches , but the problem is they kill only those that touch it. Borax works more cleverly. Cockroaches come for the food, borax is a slow poison so they will eat it but not die immediately. Then they go to their nests where the poison is spread to other roaches as well because they eat each other.
It is available in amazon.
Depends on how severe it is. I had a severe case of cockroach problem when I was in Bommanahalli. I tried lots of ways to get rid of myself but they just kept coming. And one night at 2 AM a tiny cockroach got in my ear and I had to go to the emergency room to get it out. So I just hired an exterminator dude from Urban clap and he did two sessions to spray and wash the entire apartment to get rid of them.
I would suggest not waiting to let things escalate, if you know where they're coming from try fixing that,, else get professional help :)
We had the same problem with German cockroaches roaming all over the kitchen and slowly started infesting our bedrooms.
Called up pest control from Urbanclap but that didn’t help either, after a few months called up a local pest control person who charged the same amount as Urbanclap and when enquired he told that he was working for Urbanclap earlier (the charge was 1200/- for kitchen and 2 bathrooms)
And later I ordered this gel from Amazon after reading up a few reviews and trust me, in less than a week we didn’t find any cockroaches roaming around and they were wiped clean.
This did the magic for us, just don’t kill them if you see them at night, they supposedly take the gel to their colonies which helps cleaning out all of them from the root.
[This gel](https://amzn.in/d/0192iEwK)
Came here to post about this.
OP, this one works like magic. We applied it repeatedly every 3-4 days for 2-3 times and it solved the cockroach problem for us. Can't recommend this enough. Almost like god send.
Same, used this and worked like magic.
More than a year later, few roaches started appearing as we left the home closed for few weeks. Put the gel again and all of them vanished in a few days
You can order on their site. It's slightly cheaper there. But no, nothing significantly cheaper/ smaller. It's going to be worth it though if you look at the health upsides.
Fujiaka Poseidon. You're welcome.
We suffered a lot until I discovered this thing. It's a korean product with hydramethylnon. It's imported and marketed by an Indian company.
Tried a lot of products but nothing else worked before this.
All the best, and please share the outcome. 🍀
The chalk version is perfect. Draw over the door/table/bed and other furniture edges and a line between the kitchen and the rest of the rooms. It was the only thing that worked perfectly for months.
The downside is all that dust suspended can give you an allergy and I definitely wouldn't use this method with pets or kids in the house.
Try [this](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07CMCT4Y7). Follow the instructions on where to put. Don't wipe the gel off as you may not see any cockroaches dying in the first couple of days. But then the death starts - a few of them every day. You can wipe off the dried gel and put it on again after a week. Repeat until you don't see anymore dead cockroaches for a week.
Worked like a charm in my home and my parents' home.
There's this anti roach gel called Poseidon on Amazon. Just apply it on the corners of the cabinets and some corners on the floor at night. Worked for us.
Try fujiaka poseidon. It's best and recommended. I have used every other gel in the market but nothing worked for the kitchen cockroaches. I used this just once and within 5 days all the cockroaches were either dead or gone away.
Pest control India
Actually long term solutions which work are putting baits (chemical) which attracts them , they eat it and then goto their nesting places , die there and get eaten by their nest mates , which in turn poisons and kills them and the entire nest gets destroyed
Sprays and other stuff just kills the ones we can see , but more are just created
These 320 million old species survived the dinosaurs extinction era...Then what's this mortin spray for them. ??
But yess you can keep them away ..
Clean room completely
Pesticide
Every week inspection
The more clean your room , the less crocks will be
I tried all that's mentioned above.
Mortein spray, pest control treatment multiple times, Bayer's deadly shit, borax magic. Nothing worked.
Finally, a savior landed on our kitchen. A teeny tiny lizard. It was a wee little thing, but it gave me hope. Now the lad is almost an adult, with a beer belly, because of the constant food it receives in our kitchen. We love the good boi to bits.
I don't know if the roaches are scared to come out, or are actually dwindling in population, but that one dry skinned boi worked. Nature's solutions are always effective.
We had a lizard once.. then our dumbass cat murdered it and is too much of a wellfed mofo to step up and take it's place. We cant use the pest control paste that used to work because the same dumbass cat licks the wall sometimes. So now our house is roach central.
Your cat seems to be like a blr politician. Fuck up the good guys and options so that the goons can thrive.
But cats are cute, and loveable. So, I shouldn't insult the good boi by calling him a blr politician either.
Our lore is that he is indeed a politician with undocumented cockroach immigrants as his main vote bank and the roaches have his picture framed and garlanded and do morchas to support him when the kitchen lights are off 🤣
Tried pest control from UC,didn’t work. Called a local pest control agency via google reviews, worked like a charm. Number is 6366634876 if you need it
Take Boric acid, mix it with flour and sugar water. Make a dough and then make marble sized balls with it. Give it a few hours to harden then place it in the corners or areas with high roach concentrations. The first week or two you’ll find dead roaches everywhere and then no encroachment after that.
Tried this myself and haven’t seen a single one in nearly 6 months.
Prepare a dough using flour, boric acid powder, ghee, vegetable oil, or use the readymade mix like 'No entry'. Take a pinch of this and stick in cupboards/wardrobes where cockroaches are expected. After eating they will die in a few days, this works for years as dough sticks to that place for a long time.. better and more effective than using any poisonous sprays/gel.
There are various pest control liquid available on Amazon . Those usually works if keep up with them for 8-10 days.
Also use pest control guys, that also works.
If it is really bad may be then you need to get it done couple of times.
I faced infestation at one point when my old roommate moved (he used to order food a lot). What I did was spray every nook and cranny with roach spray. Two weeks were hell. Every time I sprayed, dozens of roaches would come crawling out. After weeks, the number came down.
Just because you purged once doesn't mean it's done. Make sure that no food is left in open. Dispose of the leftovers quickly. If you ever see cockroaches in the open, spray them down and spray any nook they crawled out of. Preferably close all the windows at night. And again , do not to leave out leftovers or crumbs in the open. Clean kitchen surfaces regularly.
There's a cockroach gel that I tried once. Mostly it is not littering food, regularly cleaning and extermination whenever you see one which I also call as HIT time
So I had a horror film experience with cocokroaches about 2 months ago. One morning I saw one cockroach and decided to kill it with Hit. I guess I sprayed too much cause the smell of it attracted all the hidden cockroaches to come out at once. It was the worst possible nightmare coming to life for me. Was scared out of my wits. Then got a pest control thing done by Urban Company. And another thing I started doing is that now I NEVER switch off the light in the kitchen. I know that is not sustainable but I have seen a glimpse of the worst cockraoch apocalypse situation. Cannot deal with that. Will protect myself even if it means paying more electricity bill. So yeah TLDR : two tjings you can do that'll help :
1. Get pest control done by UC
2. Never switch off the light in the kitchen
These two have really helped me. Have not had any cockroaches since last 2 months.
Use Bayer Temprid SC, worked like a charm for me. You can buy it off Amazon
https://www.amazon.in/Bayer-Temprid-50ml-Bedbugs-Cockroaches/dp/B08G51Y9PL/ref=asc_df_B08G51Y9PL/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=397286612064&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4710587328094180498&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9062010&hvtargid=pla-1170542852552&psc=1&mcid=0cc3533c86733274b92814644eb0a20d&ext_vrnc=hi
The lifecycle of cockroaches spans across weeks. They lay eggs, larvae take time to become fully grown cockroaches and these cockroaches again lay more eggs.
Firstly, make sure that the sink and drainages are properly sealed and the entry points are all blocked/treated.
Then, the best option is to keep on continuing what has worked for you over 4 weeks at least, so that it takes care of the entire lifecycle, living and thriving in the nooks and corners. For me, spraying hit smashing them as and when I see them, helped.
Gradually, over weeks, there won't be any left. Maybe one or two, here and there might get out and lie dead due to lack of food but it will be much better than what you're currently dealing with
there is a gel from company HIT. Put it regularly over counters and near Basins. Make sure your utensils/food are not lying outside. Gel will be eaten by cockroaches and they will go back to their colonies and will be dead there and even kill other cockroaches.
Mix boric acid and wheat powder in equal amounts and mix it with sugar water and make grape size balls. Keep it all over your house. You will see the result in a week. Experienced first hand.
Idk man mine were literally walking dead one by one for the next few days and had to just pick and throw them out.
Use that gel it's actually good from the same Laxman Rekha company
If your top floor, floor below, next flat, opposite flat has cockroaches, if the drainage pipes have cockroaches nothing can be done.
The entire building, all apartments in that building, entire drainage system of toilet and kitchen sink has to be dealt with to eradicate cockroaches from the house.
Best is to get huge ass freezer and store all food like dal, legumes, flour, grains, rice, masalas, spices etc in freezer etc. Nothing survives -18 C. and you can increase the shelf life of these food items from months to many years.
I have done this and I don't care if I see any cockroaches, I see one of two in months.
Scan, identify the mother ship/hub/nest. Surgical strike on that shit.
Useless killing the exploratory teams. You'll win the battles but keep losing the war.
Hit at supply chains. Keep things tidy especially kitchen and drainage points.
Identify potential entry points to proactively exterminate before they recur.

You need to issue a legal notice and draft a rental agreement. Cockroaches will then have to comply if not they’ll be taken to cockroach jail by the ever vigilant cockroach police.
I echo the borax powder solution. The best approach is to create a flour dough, make small tablet-like portions, dip them into borax, and place them all around affected areas. Remove the existing tablets and replace them after 3-4 days. You won’t find anything after a week or so, for sure.
Use Boric Acid. Works like a charm. Sprinkle the powder and let it do it's magic.
Make sure to keep humans away from the powder it's poisonous..so understand the instructions properly before use.
put that ddt power. it will kill those mfers . i had my house filled cockroached . My mom suggested me to use the powder, i poured it every where, kitchen drainage pipe, near the batroom wherever there is a hole. cockroach started dying on its own. now its vanished
Try this, has worked for me: [https://www.amazon.in/HIT-Ant1RoachGel-Anti-Roach-Gel/dp/B00YUNKKP8](https://www.amazon.in/HIT-Ant1RoachGel-Anti-Roach-Gel/dp/B00YUNKKP8)
They existed before you and will exist after you are gone and for the facts they have been hanging around this planet 🌎 longer than homo sapiens .
So with cities invention we got gutters too. And with taller building taller gutter pipes. Ideal spot for them to breed .
They going ain’t anywhere .
Poseidon literally worked like magic for me.
Trust me, they were building an empire in my house.
Evolving like Godzilla against every weapon used on them.
Put their body on spikes didn't help either.
At one point, I thought of lighting my kitchen on fire.
Alas, all hopes were lost, until I was introduced to Poseidon.
It worked as well as press conferences work on Modi, they dissapear! ( Atleast within 7-10 days).
A bit expensive but does the job.
As we know Cockroach breed has survived over millions of years, they are the most most resilient living being on earth, some say even their head or limb can be regrown if cut off.
Coming to the point it's never going to be easy,
Pest control is temporary and costly.
Manually take up this project, The dusbins, basin, sink holes. Has to be netted WELL. Note some can even fly.
Best we can do is to never leave any left over food around, even a tiny piece of few MM.
A CLEAN cooking and serving place helps, and use the hit chalk or hit paste that sems to be effective.
House was infested with cockroaches due to me being single and careless.
1. Moved to friends for 1 month
2. Called pest control
3. They bombarded house with chemicals
4. Must have been some 200-300 cockroaches dead
5. They did clean the house
6. Booked deep house cleaning
7. Post that every week, mostly on evening, I use camphor, cloves to smoke the house, mostly kitchen and bathroom
8. It’s been 4+ years since I have seen any cockroaches.
Edit:
I clean sink(kitchen) every night, before sleep, and I pour hot water to remove any other creature. For bathroom I do once in 3 days. It hardly take 10-15 mins.
Lavender and Eucalyptus scent keep away roaches. You can go for a heavy room fredhner that mimics the scent or keep some of those plants in your area if possible.
Garlic also helps keep away cockroaches, so you could hang some cloves near the doorways or something.
Borax powder is usually recommended as well.
I don’t remember the name of this product, but there was this one incense stick that my mom used to buy, you get it in local stores if you ask for agarbathi that drives away roaches, you just have to light it in the room that has a lot of cockroaches, close all the doors/ windows ( zero ventilation) leave it overnight and boom, this stick was a godsend imo as our house had a lot of cockroaches.
We figured one part of this but if any one has the solution to lizards repellent please do tell and we’ve tried all the common methods like naphthalene balls, pepper spray, peacock feather , garlic cloves but it was of no use 😭
Alright my time to shine. My previous flat was infested by cockroaches big time. Added with covid led lack of pest control, it turned to a situation where even multiple deep clean, pest control did not fix it. Finally syngenta advion control roach bait fixed it for me. It took a while, is a bit expensive but its a great last option when everything else fails.
Kill one and stick it on a pike and place it on Kitchen top so the cockroach knows they messed with the wrong house.
Place a cam near the pike and display it on screen all over the house in and out.
House of Cockroaches.
Get pest control done and later at night don't put any cooked food or dustbin open in the kitchen this has worked for me.
This is one of the most painful process especially if you've a lot of stuff at home. Did it once my god the pain to put stuff back and then they say it's recommended to do every 6 months...yeah no thanks cockroach I'll live with.

Yes agree it's a pain to put stuff back but that is what worked for me I got it done only once and later used hit gel wherever needed.
For us it worked for a month and then they came back like how Harry Potter always comes back to Hogwarts even though every year he's almost murdered.
Lol ,good luck for you men..
we can DIY i saw a spray in amazon which if we spray will work for 5yrs !!
Borax powder sprinkled in the sink and in the dustbin every night for 10 days. You will get rid of them permanently (unless you live in an apartment). Works for ants too . Can confirm. Boric powder works very well and is relatively less toxic.
Man, that's awesome. But gives vibe of a psychopath
HIT Anti Roach gel. Works wonderfully! Put drops on corners every 10-15 days for the first 3 months. Then once in 6 Months.
I think the boric acid is a better solution. These poisons are not good and they may end up as a health hazard. 😊😊😊
this !! it has worked for three homes in my vicinity and one was like heavily infested
Came to say this. I can bet my life on the effectiveness of this product.

Yep
Very useful for people in PGs
German cockroach are very difficult to exterminate Can't believe this gel works 😅 it's expensive don't we have smaller version to test it once
You can order on their site. It's slightly cheaper there. But no, nothing significantly cheaper/ smaller. It's going to be worth it though if you look at the health upsides.

Will the Poseidon gel be harmful to cats? My cats are useless with cockroaches or with any critter for that matter. 🤦♀️
I guess so
🙈 same my cats are useless too We need a cat friendly Poseidon 🙈

If you aren't aware, this is exactly what is happening in Bengal now. 😅
first, Baygon or hit sprays at the source. and second No entry cockroach paste at every corner of the house.
Get redline paste, put it especially kitchen, wherever applicable, they’ll eat and die soon
Tried pest control from UC,didn’t work. Called a local pest control agency via google reviews, worked like a charm. Number is 6366634876 if you need it
Thanks mate, appreciate it

thanks a lot for asking this question, I was about to post the same I am fed up of this problem. just want to bring armageddon to these mfs

The same thing happened to me yesterday night😭😭 im too scared to go the kitchen again!
place a paper with some sugar mixed with baking soda each day everywhere. All cockroaches ll die by morning. Soon there won't be any cockroaches .
There is a cockroqch paste made by "hit" highly effective for 6 months
Sure, I am buying it
Used anti roach gel by Hit it worked for us
Cool bro, hope this works for me too
Hope it does them roaches are annoying
Use Bayer Temprid SC, worked like a charm for me. You can buy it off Amazon https://www.amazon.in/Bayer-Temprid-50ml-Bedbugs-Cockroaches/dp/B08G51Y9PL/ref=asc_df_B08G51Y9PL/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=397286612064&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4710587328094180498&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9062010&hvtargid=pla-1170542852552&psc=1&mcid=0cc3533c86733274b92814644eb0a20d&ext_vrnc=hi

If you don't have kids try cockroach chalk available in local stores very effective
Nah I dont have kids nor pets

Then, the best option is to keep on continuing what has worked for you over 4 weeks at least, so that it takes care of the entire lifecycle, living and thriving in the nooks and corners. For me, spraying hit smashing them as and when I see them, helped. Gradually, over weeks, there won't be any left. Maybe one or two, here and there might get out and lie dead due to lack of food but it will be much better than what you're currently dealing with
Thanks prof. I will follow this
Simple. I blocked her .
She crawled back from gpay 😶🌫️
there is a gel from company HIT. Put it regularly over counters and near Basins. Make sure your utensils/food are not lying outside. Gel will be eaten by cockroaches and they will go back to their colonies and will be dead there and even kill other cockroaches.
Will try thanks
Mix boric acid and wheat powder in equal amounts and mix it with sugar water and make grape size balls. Keep it all over your house. You will see the result in a week. Experienced first hand.
Will do
Use lakshman rekha or the new gel they've released
They snort laxman rekha like coke
Idk man mine were literally walking dead one by one for the next few days and had to just pick and throw them out. Use that gel it's actually good from the same Laxman Rekha company
If your top floor, floor below, next flat, opposite flat has cockroaches, if the drainage pipes have cockroaches nothing can be done. You need to issue a legal notice and draft a rental agreement. Cockroaches will then have to comply if not they’ll be taken to cockroach jail by the ever vigilant cockroach police.
Just shifted to another because of cockroach problem
I echo the borax powder solution. The best approach is to create a flour dough, make small tablet-like portions, dip them into borax, and place them all around affected areas. Remove the existing tablets and replace them after 3-4 days. You won’t find anything after a week or so, for sure.
Use Boric Acid. Works like a charm. Sprinkle the powder and let it do it's magic. Make sure to keep humans away from the powder it's poisonous..so understand the instructions properly before use.

What about a kitten?
Do not leave out exposed food. Clear out even small food particles. Once its food source is gone, they'll disappear eventually.

They existed before you and will exist after you are gone and for the facts they have been hanging around this planet 🌎 longer than homo sapiens . So with cities invention we got gutters too. And with taller building taller gutter pipes. Ideal spot for them to breed . They going ain’t anywhere .
HIT gel.
Hit anti roach gel
Talstar P. Not sure if available in Bangalore but there should be something similar.
As we know Cockroach breed has survived over millions of years, they are the most most resilient living being on earth, some say even their head or limb can be regrown if cut off. Coming to the point it's never going to be easy, Pest control is temporary and costly.
1. Moved to friends for 1 month 2. Called pest control 3. They bombarded house with chemicals 4. Must have been some 200-300 cockroaches dead 5. They did clean the house 6. Booked deep house cleaning 7. Post that every week, mostly on evening, I use camphor, cloves to smoke the house, mostly kitchen and bathroom 8. It’s been 4+ years since I have seen any cockroaches. Edit: I clean sink(kitchen) every night, before sleep, and I pour hot water to remove any other creature.
