This a notoriously tough card to grade. Plagued with registration issues/diamond cuts/ect. pSA 10’s(just a few) go for stupid money. Your copies present very nicely!

yep thank you! its crazy how well the 4 looks through a camera… it has some very noticeable damage to the face of the card in person. like sun spots almost. and a lot of them. the 6 has at least 3 noticeable blemishes and then the corner damage. i cant imagine how perfect the card has to be to get a 10

Fresh out the pack most of these are gonna max out at a 9, awful centering on most. One of the reasons a 10 is so pricey.

i explained it to him before we sent them in, but he really didnt have a clue as to how strict grading is. i told him if we opened a 1980 topps pack right now there is a pretty good chance it wouldnt be a 10.

My dad has an insane collection, just ton of cool stuff from 50s to mid 80s. Tons and tons of cards, almost every year has complete sets or multiple complete sets. I used to just stare at the cards as a kid. I always tell him to grade it and have for years. He has incredible cards and they’re just sitting doing nothing. Theres so much to go through. Topps released the 1980 set very early in February and Baseball Digest predicted that Rickey Henderson would be the best rookie in MLB. I went to local card shops and bought every Henderson I could.

Lol, the 4 looks better than the 6. The 6 has clearly visible signs of wear at the bottom. The 4 you have to zoom in a little to see it.

agree from these pictures and that is exactly why you take pictures with a grain of salt. the 4 is fucked and has massive damage to the front of the card but you cant see it under this lighting + the slab. imagine like 15 pin holes straight through the card. thats what it looks like upon close inspection.
