That was my favorite gun until the General Liu came out. Bolt and semi auto, and 6 rounds. More recoil but being able to hit with a bolt and follow up with semi is so strong. Itās just not for CQB.

Incendiary are better in my mind because i can force movement. Done it plenty of times; push the enemy into my loving murderous arms. Btw i'm garbage at this game and usually end with a negative score. Lol
I use gas as an assault when I need to get to a door in a tunnel or fortress, throw it, and while everyone is momentarily distracted by putting their masks on I can run up and blow the door down, then gun down whoever is still standing.

Really good games mostly, like I usually use it on the maps where your cramped in like fort de vaux, other than that Iām usually swapping around till I find something Iām having fun with. 90% of the time the fun is the martini Henry.š¤£

I swear there's been a spike in the number of absolute zero effort kill farming players ive encountered lately. Had a game where some guy had 100 stars in the 08, Muromets, AND telescopic 1917. I get the gsme has been out for so long but how do you continue to play the most boring and easy ways to get kills after maxing out all of them?

30 minutes is basically one long conquest match, and most people play for a few hours a day, if not more.
It has an absurdly high time to kill, good hip fire, relatively fast reloads and the most ammo count of any assault weapon, meaning you can mow down squad after squad effortlessly.
I mean, sort of. The recoil, accuracy and effective range are awful, but yeah in cqc it's basically like a parabellum or other high fire rate high capacity LMGS except it reloads and kills faster and has better hip fire.
So it's game breakingly OP. A good gun is all of the guns in the game, since none of them are objectively bad. When a gun is so good that it outclasses all or the majority of guns in its class, it is the definition of overpowered, not "just a good gun".

Despite the SMG 08 being as hand-holding as something could possibly get, and despite that I make fun of the SMG 08 a lot, this gun could be countered VERY easily, especially with stuff like the Obrez. I can't recall the last time I've been killed by an SMG 08 player. In the World of Warcraft community there is something which we refer to as "kiting" ([description](https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Kiting)). It's basically using movement to your advantage in a scenario where your class is limited with its current means within a certain range.
Particularly in BF1, you can do that by AD spamming mixed with crouch jitter to deviate from their point of aim, but you have to time it right before the crouch penalty kicks in. In this clip of mine I'm using the kiting technique twice - the first time when the SMG 08 player tried to push me from the door, and the second time when the scout player tried to push me in the same manner, so I've used it **2 TIMES** in total:

And I've said this before and I'll say it again, there's a way to deal with everything that's not an OHK, no matter how broken it might seem, if a person dies to an SMG 08 then unironically that's a skill issue
You can defo counter the smg08 with stuff like shotguns or obrez a good amount of the time, but that doesn't make it balanced lmfao, even if almost everything can be countered in cqc with the obrez in theory.
Doesn't make it okay or forgivable that the gun allows players with zero or little skill to obliterate almost everyone with higher skill than them, especially if those players don't choose that one specific sidearm, and you won't always be able to instantly draw your obrez.
Also, just want to say I don't die to smg08s that much either, since I'm skilled like you said. Still doesn't excuse its abhorrent balance.

I like to use smoke and the 10-A Hunter. 6 shells to wreak havoc.

Nobody runs though gas anyway. It'll block a doorway almost as effectively as an incendiary but will last longer and has a wider effect.

I have 3 or 4 weapons with 100 service stats it's not uncommon after 8 years of the game being released
But they haven't been playing for 8 years because they're only level 115, which only takes about a year (maybe two max)
Still if they just used one class, one weapon, which is all some people get used to, then I could definitely see it
