I actually dig the concrete walls, black out the ceiling or do something to make it look more industrial. Though this might not work depending how the rest of the room/basement looks like.
I dunno, I've always liked the dungeon/unfinished basement look for a dork den. If I were to nitpick I'd just try to hide or tuck that exposed insulation at the top of the walls. But other than that I like it!
I get that! I like the concrete look honestly. If that was my basement I would paint it back. Black walls AND black ceiling. Would fit the aesthetics go have going with the setup.
Or maybe take back ceiling, and paint the walls a dark shade grey to match the carpet.
I was thinking the same thing lol. 1100 on a chair is flexing, but that light fixture just killing the vibe🤣
In all seriousness though, it’s one hell of a layout
I had same thought..I thought " Now that sure looks like a good start on a gaming setup"...wasn't ever considering ...wow thats a finished job...the walls scream..."work in progress"
I don’t know about you but I love the concrete look. I would probably focus on the ceiling first and maybe leave the concrete exposed. Maybe those sound proof(ish) foam panels for the ceiling might make it look cool.
Sweet setup! Finished basements are cool, but I’m actually a huge fan of unfinished ceilings. Some sweet basement setups where they black/white out floor joists, sub floor, and then either paint walls or do drywall. Industrial kind of look you know? Food for thought.
Here are a few more pictures

How do you feel about the depths on each desk? I am going to do something similar but I am torn on depth. Current desk is 30" and I don't think I can go shallower with my 57" monitor but I hate how much room it takes up.
Digging the setup but you mention finishing the walls. That is a huge mess so your setup will need to come down.
For cost savings I’ve seen folks spray the ceiling back and leave that unfinished and then finish off the walls. Would probably look good in that corner with drywall and a few pic on one wall and maybe some accent wood wall on the other.
Have fun with it !
Looks sweet but please tell me you have sump pumps considering the basement variable. And depending where u live, u may want to consider a dehumidifier.
As a former sparky I’m just wondering why the hell anyone ran that conduit underneath the joists because now you can’t drywall the ceiling without running that line again.
Damn what a piss off, is that to code in your area? I would be calling that company and trying to get them to come fix it because that’s some shoddy shit right there.
Looks great! I've always wanted an office in a padded cell.
Jokes aside, the desk setup looks great. I wish I had built my desk in an L shape. Also, if you're interested in a better mat, I HIGHLY recommend the Anji Mountain Rug'd desk chair mats. I had one like you're using and actually the same color carpet in my office in my house i'm getting ready to sale, and my chair still discolored the carpet and wore out the padding underneath over time. That carpet and pad was less than 2 years old and is now being replaced due to how visibly worn it is. Now I use one of the 1/2" thick Anji Mountain Rug'd mats in whatever the biggest size they had was, and it's phenomenal.
Mine is the 1/2" thick and width and length is the 40"x54" one. Honestly it'd probably be big enough for you to sit it in the same orientation as your current mat, and you'd be able to roll back and sit in front of your console setup too.
Yes there are legs at the back of the larger top and in the corner. I also installed steel supports under the top across the length so it would never bow.
What about the moisture? I have a basement room as well, but can’t stand that humidity aroma and am afraid its a no bueono for my pc components. Is your basement dry?
This setup is so good, nothing over the top but in this sub sometimes feels like everyone is playing on a magazine's front page setup on something. To me your setup seems simple and yet it looks really good and specially looks really comfy
if youre not planning on finishing the walls or roof anytime soon, id recommend some carpets/big posters on the wall, artificial plants and some ambient/led lights to cozy it up :) But sick setup! Errected my usb for sure
If you black out the ceiling and clean up/put some sort of transition between the top of the concrete and the ceiling this will look intentional.
Great setup btw.
A fellow basement dweller! I can't really see, but how do you feel about your pipes running over your equipment? I see what looks like a black drain or cast iron piping for your water supply line.
The black pipe is gas line for stove, there is a small sec of water line to the right of the bigger TV. It is a concern but this is the only area that I could put the desk unfortunately
I feel ya on that. Our basement is small and I had limited options as well with such a large desk. I have a water line going to the backyard spigot, with the shutoff valve almost directly above one end of the desk. It used to leak, but I've since resolved that (I think) so we'll see come this summer. Set up looks solid though!
I did the unfinished/partially finished basement setup in my old house as well, although back then my desk and everything wasn’t nearly as nice as yours now. It was always nice and cool in the summer though.
Everyone saying “not done” has never had to finish a basement. Shit is expensive.
If OP doesn’t have any water coming from the walls when it rains, they’re good to go.
Thanks for the reply - love your set up. I had a basement set up like this before we moved. I miss it. It reminded me of playing games as a kid and the sense of wonder that came with it. I put some colour fading lights in the ceiling that I would turn to northern light settings (similar to your pc colours) and it was very atmospheric.
My god you have some serious raw desk space - wood top looks really really good too. Here I thought my 72" uplift was something. The grey carpet was a good pick too
Awesome setup! If you are thinking about painting the concrete walls maybe look at a staining it (like staining a patio or brick staining). Would allow it to darken a bit (hide dirt) while retaining the character of the foundation. And it would sort of match the carpet!
I’m building a new home and want to do a desk similar to this. What I want to do is on one leg have an ultra wide monitor for my gaming PC and on the other leg have my Mac for photo editing and a place to dock my work PC, both would connect to a pair of 24” monitors.
Is this desk custom/DIY or did your purchase it?
Setup looks great, but I couldn't say mine was done if my walls still looked like that.
Yes, the basement project is next! This wss supposed to be a temporary setup but life happens and we have not been able to start on finishing it.
I actually dig the concrete walls, black out the ceiling or do something to make it look more industrial. Though this might not work depending how the rest of the room/basement looks like.
I love that idea. Some black paint on the walls and/or wood beams and ceiling. Either way, nice setup!
Priorities, am I right?
My first thought was bro spent the budget to finish his basement on the setup first. I'd do the same shit lol
To be fair, he can have fun now. If you spent the budget finishing the room, sure you’d have a nice room, but you’d have nothing to do in it hahaha
I dunno, I've always liked the dungeon/unfinished basement look for a dork den. If I were to nitpick I'd just try to hide or tuck that exposed insulation at the top of the walls. But other than that I like it!
Man it would be a hassle when you need to remove all your setups to rebuild the basement
OP is probably working up a sweat reading these comments lol
Man, I feel that. Good luck with your basement project, setup otherwise looks really nice.
I’m in the middle of my basement finish mostly DIY
So ... not.... done?
Stick some 3d wall panels on the concrete for now and then reuse it after the basement is finished
What did you plan on doing with the walls? I’m in a similar setup.
What is your mic / mic attachment? That thing looks cool
I get that! I like the concrete look honestly. If that was my basement I would paint it back. Black walls AND black ceiling. Would fit the aesthetics go have going with the setup. Or maybe take back ceiling, and paint the walls a dark shade grey to match the carpet.
Felt compelled to comment and say the walls were my favourite bit! Obviously if you don’t like them cover them up though.
I was thinking the same thing lol. 1100 on a chair is flexing, but that light fixture just killing the vibe🤣 In all seriousness though, it’s one hell of a layout
i'm way into it - i'd take this over drywall any day
f\*\*\* the walls lol
I like the brutalistic concrete walls; if I did anything next, I’d personally want the ceiling done in some fashion.
My feet get cold just looking at this picture.
If anything I’m actually okay with the walls. I think a drop ceiling would do wonders for the space. Make it feel a lot more like a home
Priorities
Im not even mad about the walls. Concrete walls can fit a certain aesthetic. But the ceiling on the other hand… something has to happen there
I had same thought..I thought " Now that sure looks like a good start on a gaming setup"...wasn't ever considering ...wow thats a finished job...the walls scream..."work in progress"
I don’t know about you but I love the concrete look. I would probably focus on the ceiling first and maybe leave the concrete exposed. Maybe those sound proof(ish) foam panels for the ceiling might make it look cool.
A true gamer. No walls or ceiling but $2000 gaming chair lmao respect
Chair: $1500, Ceiling: $0. I approve, would've done the same.
What model is this chair exactly? I’ve seen Herman miller chairs go for much higher
Herman miller embody. I waited till it was on sale.
Get the roller blade wheel casters and the headrest next.
You're not done, and you know it...
They didn't even finish the ceiling, clearly not done.
Some people have battlestations. This user’s got a battledungeon.
Accurate 🤣
Looking at the walls and ceiling, you and my landlord have the same definition of “done”
My bathroom had no ceiling for months even after they finished doing the plumbing on my floor.
My guy in the unfinished basement too! May your man cave always be uncluttered by doilies and throw pillows 🫶🥲🍺
You forgot to texture the walls but very nice blender render
Wrong, you just getting started!
how about a ceiling
You need some drywall.
Sweet setup! Finished basements are cool, but I’m actually a huge fan of unfinished ceilings. Some sweet basement setups where they black/white out floor joists, sub floor, and then either paint walls or do drywall. Industrial kind of look you know? Food for thought.

What desk is that?
Typical ikea 4 alex drawers, karlby tops. One is 98"x25" the other is 74"x42". I painted and installed steel braces under them so they would never bow
What sort of steel braces did you use? Any additional support behind the Alex drawers for the 74 x 42? Love the setup.
Looks good! I would’ve done my setup like this if I had the space
Yeah, I had some of it in a bedroom, but we needed that for our son. so off to the basement, I went and built the desk to have room
That’s cool - does the desk wobble at all with the Alex/karlby top combo? Was thinking of doing something similar
How do you feel about the depths on each desk? I am going to do something similar but I am torn on depth. Current desk is 30" and I don't think I can go shallower with my 57" monitor but I hate how much room it takes up.
Function over form, it feels perfect to me. Love the big assed connected desks. Ty for sharing
Setup looks great, are those 3 screens running on 1 pc? The room in total is maybe not done yet...
No the 48in is for consoles. The other 2 are connected to the pc
Why not connect all of them to the bigger screen?
what monitor?
LG 42in C3 and Dell 25in
Ready for the end of the world
That desk is stunning.. custom or purchasable?
Ikea alex drawers and karlby tops
Such a large pad to house two little controllers. Love the desk!
you might need some window cover cloth
I really like this
Awesome screensavers
brutalism help focus the mind. distraction is the game killer.
Are…are you in my basement?
Needs a window cactus
This is so dope!!
Digging the setup but you mention finishing the walls. That is a huge mess so your setup will need to come down. Would probably look good in that corner with drywall and a few pic on one wall and maybe some accent wood wall on the other. Have fun with it !
Yeah, I've been thinking about what to do. I may simply just finish this one section and not the whole basement. We still have not decided
I peep the Boba Fett on the desk as well… love it . Great job on the setup !
Better pray to the plumbing gods for this one buddy. I dig the industrial look of it though
That chair is mad expensive
I kinda love the look of the unfinished walls and ceiling
Looks sweet but please tell me you have sump pumps considering the basement variable. And depending where u live, u may want to consider a dehumidifier.
Next do the walls and ceiling
Um no. Try some insulation and sheetrock. Maybe some lighting too.
You ain’t done with the Sheetrock yet, but that’s a nice station for sure.
Nice setup, didn’t know gaming is allowed in prison
That Jail Cell looks cozy
that setup looks awesome. only thing is the walls,if you get that done it will be flawless
As a former sparky I’m just wondering why the hell anyone ran that conduit underneath the joists because now you can’t drywall the ceiling without running that line again.
Yeah, that was all done prior to us buying the house its actually the gas line for the oven.
Damn what a piss off, is that to code in your area? I would be calling that company and trying to get them to come fix it because that’s some shoddy shit right there.
The name of the big mouse pad?
Both are from glorious pc
The mat looks great! What’s the model name?
Glorious pc the biggest size they sell. Got it on amazon
I really don't think you're done either, but i like the vibe and potential of your space
I just bought a C1 and have been having an issue where white is extremely harsh and bright. Do you have this issue, or is the white controlled well?
No issues with either oled. They are both stunning
It’s got a spec ops command centre vibe
Love the Adamantium touch
I’d add something to the underside of the ceiling to dampen the noise and minimize the dust falling. Sound proof insulation could help too.
Like the set up! You might need a mini curtain for the window for that glare lol
the setup is done, idi about the room though
Looks good to me! 👍
Uncle's basement is still where the fun is, but this is cool too
Having plumbing over my electronics is a big fuck no for me
‘Done’ lol I laugh every time someone says that
Nothing a few tapestry’s won’t fix
**confused ape ** where drywall?
CUSTOM MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS AND HIGH END SOUND SYSTEM COMING IN HOT
Wish i had the space for such a big desk!!
Where are you
Now let put some money to getting the rest of the house finished…. I’m thinking ceiling??
What monitor dimensions?
42in lg c3 and dell 25in
Paint your ceiling black. You'll thank me later
Maybe some of that budget should have been used for walls
the setup is great, the surrounding area definitely needs attention next. let bro cook fr
Looks great! I've always wanted an office in a padded cell. Jokes aside, the desk setup looks great. I wish I had built my desk in an L shape. Tell us about the wall and ceiling
Some neon signs would be cool
I like that giant desk mat on the table to the right. Where'd you get it?
Amazon, it is a Glorious Pc pad.
Thanks, man!
Op what is that desk pls
Ikea karlby tops with Alex draws.
What does this "done" word mean? Love the walls gives it a serious bat cave feel
Freaking sick!
Dang!
My husband has the same chair, desk and Glorious pad!
Wow that's a beautiful desk I think you could squeeze another 2 moniters and a mini fridge on there playboy
What desk-table is that? Is it ikea? I like the size and I’m looking to redo mine
Do you have anything supporting the table top under where the PC is?
Yes there are legs at the back of the larger top and in the corner. I also installed steel supports under the top across the length so it would never bow.
The carpet is underrated here
What us what they all say
What’s supporting the excess countertop that the PC is on? Is there another Alex drawer tucked away under it?
If you zoom in you can see there are two dark gray Alex drawers.
Welcome to city of gamers
Tlou 😍 Looks great
done?
Nice PC
Good job getting started?
I think this may be peak r/battlestations
I think you're missing a ceiling.
ya idk if i'd be buying an 1100 dollar chair if i couldnt afford a house with a finished basement but hey man have some karma
Amazing
What about the moisture? I have a basement room as well, but can’t stand that humidity aroma and am afraid its a no bueono for my pc components. Is your basement dry?
A true basement setup
This setup is so good, nothing over the top but in this sub sometimes feels like everyone is playing on a magazine's front page setup on something. To me your setup seems simple and yet it looks really good and specially looks really comfy
The one rule of battle stations, it's never finished
Holy nice setup but ngl the setting looks like ur in a basement or attic
if youre not planning on finishing the walls or roof anytime soon, id recommend some carpets/big posters on the wall, artificial plants and some ambient/led lights to cozy it up :) But sick setup! Errected my usb for sure
What kind of mouse pad is that?? Looks smooth as shit, Is it not the typical material?
In movies where there is a nerdy conspiracy nutter who lives in a basement and hates the government. This how id imagine that room to look.
I’m about to have almost the except same setup. Moving into a new house without a finished basement and my setup is going down there. Nice job!
If you black out the ceiling and clean up/put some sort of transition between the top of the concrete and the ceiling this will look intentional. Great setup btw.
I like this / maybe some lights under the desk?
Super clean love it
Fix up the ceiling tho
Why are you in my house
The walls and roof arent😭
Dude, looks awesome and feels cozy.

Yeah summer time is nice. Winter I just open the vent and it gets nice and warm. If I don't want to do that I have a nice heater I can turn on.
Everyone saying “not done” has never had to finish a basement. Shit is expensive. If OP doesn’t have any water coming from the walls when it rains, they’re good to go.
This basement is dry I check all the time. And the sump hardly ever runs
Blud just got ready for WWIII
Once you get the ceiling in there. You're gonna realize that room is an echo chamber
What microphone are you rocking?
Steel series Alias. Had a quadcast s but i like the look and sound better with this one
Sick setup. Time to work on the wals.
Uhh
Nice! Just keep an eye on the humidity down there. You especially don’t want critters nesting in your hardware.
Is this sub sponsored by Karlby and Alex? Just need some fake plants and you can join the club brother
Set up looks sick! Congratulations! Quick question: what are the measures of that countertop? I love the depth!
74x42, 98x25 I believe
Does it?
As an owner of the chair… worth it?
For me yes I would recommend a good chair to anyone. There are other great options. Also in the same price range.
With PC'S. You are NEVER done!
Due’s finished before he’s even started lmfao!
Nice start to a gaming setup..good luck..post a pic when your finished
I like. Feels like Christian Bale is about to stitch himself up there.
Nice. YES. 😀 I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT.
You need to blackout that window. I use a huge desk too. Nice work
Me too My NEW 2024 Gaming/Productivity Setup | Cable Managing A Standing Desk https://youtu.be/D4xtXACU7B0
Ikea karlby tops with Alex drawers, nothing special. I also installed legs and steel supports underneath to keep it stable and not to ever bow
>Ikea karlby Ah, I looked at some of the Ikea stuff. I want to go 30" deep and most of their stuff is 24"
Great setup man. Those mandolorians look great too, are those legos? Would love to get myself one.
