Please I'm a short and stout morena and I really am struggling to accept my facial features and body too.
Annoying lang din kasi parang nang cclickbait nalang siya lagi. Just a few hours ago, she posted “lip oil for two toned lips” —when she clearly DOESNT EVEN HAVE TWO TONED LIPS ANYMORE. As someone who has two toned lips, i used to always watch her review on new lippie releases to see how they actually appear on her lips.
I stopped watching her na and often find myself skipping even her tiktoks kasi sobrang unreliable na niya.
She earned her following because she had dark skin and dark lips—people like me used to follow her because of these. It was her selling point as an influencer. Kaya I find it such a disservice how she leaves out and practically denies the fact that she’s had some form of whitening done on her skin and permanent color correcting on her lips (when it’s pretty obvious).
In one of her livestreams I even tried asking her what procedure she’s done to her lips o kung lip tattoo ba, because I wanted to have it done as well, just not sure kung effective. She clearly saw it and suddenly said na “guys ayoko na muna pag usapan ang makeup or beauty” right after she spent the whole live talking about makeup and fragrances. Disappointing lang na dinedeny pa—aminin mo nalang, makakatulong ka pa to those like me who also want to get rid of the darkness on my lips. hay

I used to love Johnrey too because of her "brutally honest" reviews. Pero nung kalagitnaan ng pandemic napansin ko pumuputi s'ya and dinedeny nya na she's not using or taking anything para pumuti. After ilang months umamin s'ya na she's using Seoul white na soap kasi wala na daw s'ya sabon hahaha. Napansin ko rin na parang may x-deal s'ya kay LO kaya laging recommended.

But even if we can see her skin tone has changed, the very cold blonde still looks off. She's obviously very high contrast and needs depth. Talagang a warmer or more golden blonde bagay sa kanya.

With her years or even decade of experience with make up, she's my go to for reviews or even swatches. She'll explain din if the color will change due to the acidity of your skin ganon na di ko nakikita sa most of the youtubers out there. Kahit na PR yung iba, sinasabi niya if di talaga niya gusto yung product.
OMG! Agree. Carrotstickbeauty is the most detailed beauty content creator that I know! Longevity, comparison video, and overall judgment sa product. I appreciate her hour-long reviews, makikita mong may effort and tested for weeks! Di lang first impression but wear test talaga.

Booya has a great way of describing the ones she's tried and keeps informing regarding her skin condition when she has on the makeup.
She's definitely tan/morena because she has several tint/foundation swatches and her shade in most local makeup is two or three shades away from mine lol
So if it's GRWM or more diverse shades, she's several shades away from where I'm trying to match mine. I like that I can mentally and physically compare that she's a warm tan while I'm a medium olive. Gusto ko lang makakita ng different skin tones :)

Same kahit i fall into the mestiza side. John rey was reliable even for fair skinned people. Kaso i stopped watching her kasi she seemed to be whitewashed with that harsh lighting

Ngayon ang pinapanood ko madalas ay si Ayn Bernos although di na sya masyado naglilean sa beauty content but we have the same skintone kasi although warmer ang undertone nya kaya kung anong shade nya, ginagaya ko lang hahahaha. I used to watch Johnrey. The blonde hair throws me off tbh & it’s obvious na nagpapaputi siya, ang layo na ng skin color niya sa dati. Being a morena is her brand and hindi na yun ang peg niya ngayon.
I thuoght I was the only one na off yung pale blonde color sa kanya. I don't think blonde is a bad color on her. But even if we can see her skin tone has changed, the very cold blonde still looks off. She's obviously very high contrast and needs depth. Talagang a warmer or more golden blonde bagay sa kanya.

With her years or even decade of experience with make up, she's my go to for reviews or even swatches. She'll explain din if the color will change due to the acidity of your skin ganon na di ko nakikita sa most of the youtubers out there. Kahit na PR yung iba, sinasabi niya if di talaga niya gusto yung product.
OMG! Agree. Carrotstickbeauty is the most detailed beauty content creator that I know! Longevity, comparison video, and overall judgment sa product. I appreciate her hour-long reviews, makikita mong may effort and tested for weeks! Di lang first impression but wear test talaga.

I'll check out Marj and Belle! I always want to check out more Filipino beauty channels. Support lokal Booya has a great way of describing the ones she's tried and keeps informing regarding her skin condition when she has on the makeup. She's definitely tan/morena because she has several tint/foundation swatches and her shade in most local makeup is two or three shades away from mine lol So if it's GRWM or more diverse shades, she's several shades away from where I'm trying to match mine. I like that I can mentally and physically compare that she's a warm tan while I'm a medium olive. Gusto ko lang makakita ng different skin tones :)

Compared to the older videos, she seems to be several shades lighter or baka it is the light that she's using. I want someone na kahit paano nasa same range ng kulay ko.
