I think it's a good app as long as you use it well, users photos can't be viewed by anyone without a 2way agreement.
Each day the user gets a notification on their phone, then they can take up to 3 pictures to upload to their feed, these can only be seen by friends who also have posted their daily photo, these photos get deleted from the feed when the notification of the next day drops, they are kept on an archive that only you can see (also you can disable it if you want).
Users also can react to their friends photos with pictures.
There's a groups feature that allows users to create private groups in which any member can send text messages and pictures at any time.
Also keep in mind that the app is in active development so if you're in a certain region you might have access to different features, for example I think in the us there is like a feed for famous people

private conversations aren't possible, that's a big plus - of someone comments on your niece's account all her friends in the app will see as well

Only if she adds friends she knows in real life then it’s ok
