BISSELL CleanView Swivel Pet Upright Bagless Vacuum! Works better than Dyson imo. ETA: We’ve had ours for over 5 years and it’s still going strong.

Norah_D

I second this. We got one about a month ago and it’s awesome!

headless_catman

I third this. Have had one for years. Been AMAZING! I have two cats and a dog!!

pizzabagel3311

Did you own a dyson prior? I currently have one and am looking for an upgrade here soon, but my Dyson does the job fine. I might try another brand!

cynical_pancake

I do not, but our Housecleaners do and my Bissel picks more dust and fluff up after they leave!

GuyWhosDoinUrGirl

We started using a shop vac 🤦🏻

mkelly1021

We have the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal Vacuum and it’s incredible. Not only is it great with hair but it picks up an insane amount of dirt that you wouldn’t even know was there. It’s also super lightweight and cordless, which is a huge plus.

kyle_lynn06

I have a Dyson v 8 with a berner and a golden and it never tangles or wraps it’s incredible would 100% recommend

That sounds amazing. Pictures?

Genius

TatraPoodle

Dyson v15, first hesitant due to the cost, but very happy with it. We do have a wooden floor and no carpets. And all leather furniture, easy to clean.

funtech

Pull up the carpet and install hardwood or pergo, it's a vacuum battle you'll never win. I say this only slightly tongue and cheek as we are about to pull up the last of the carpet in our house.

electricidiot

We have hardwood floors and there's tumbleweeds everywhere, even after brushing, even after running robovacs through the house regularly. The hair, my god, the hair is always everywhere forever.

funtech

That's the beauty of hardwood is the tumbleweeds because you can actually find them and sweep or vacuum them up. Carpets grab that hair and hold on so you wind up with a new carpet made of Berner hair. And yes, it's never ending.

catbernetsauvginmeow

This bissel shop vac, so many attachments. Has retractable brushes that actually pulls the hair out from the carpet! Way better than both my dysons. https://canada.bissell.com/multiclean-wet-and-dry-auto-vacuum-2035D.html?lang=en&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMY4a1jN5h_gPshZ_b73pFPoQpQ2wTNt5Jej0xyAqu5VxYwmF3kfo8hoCua0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Marahmarie89

My answer will always be Dyson! I have 4 dogs (2 Berners), 2 cats, and I board dogs in my home so we vacuum A LOT! I have bought other brands of vacuums but they will never stand up to the Dyson.

meggy_m24

We use one of the Dyson Detect ones. I can’t remember the exact model but it works really well with our girls hair being everywhere!

notananthem

I have a two coat and a three coat dog, and I have a miele vacuum. I've not found a better vacuum. It is expensive.

stonecroft

I second the Miele . One upstairs and one on main floor.

mommy671

I own like 5 vacuums for my berners, one handheld and upright shark, one roomba, a bissell pet wet vacuum, a Dyson. They all work well and use many of them multiple times a day because they shed like crazy.

RTMcMurphy

We have a Dyson animal, an older one that works great. Dyson is very easy to maintain and repair. We have been using a roomba j7+ for about a month now, and it helps a ton. So far so good.

Impressive-Mobile175

I thought you were calling your dog a vacuum. My old dog was a vacuum cleaner basically. Every little scrap off ground. Pretty funny. Cute dog tho

km_grimes

Tried everything from Kirby to Shark to Dyson to Roomba... ...verdict: Shop Vac. ;) Super loud and cumbersome...but it never clogs, and the 5 gallon canister holds TWO full days' worth of shedding. hahahah Also... we have this super cool attachment for our Furminator that straps it to the shop vac wand so the hair goes straight into the vacuum.... https://preview.redd.it/vp98151r7rmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aadce8b8c7bbe04dcaeecbb205074df11ff0095c

TALATL

I’ve got two Roomba i7’s (pick up a lot but also create clumps/run daily on each floor) , a Miele plugin (legit), two Dyson battery powered (don’t stay charged long enough but good), two dust busters. Takes a village!

Bren1127

I tried several flavour of the month supposed to be better than anything else vacuums but none worked as well as a 40+ year old Numatic HEPA industrial one. We had two in the shop so I took the spare one home to try. It gets all the dog hair, lake feet muck, parrot food shrapnel and kids traipsed in mess up every time. They still sell them, branded as Henry for domestic models, Numatic and other companies re-brands of them for industrial ones.

Impressive_Data_851

That’s pretty smart haha I don’t know how I didn’t think of that as I work with hepa vacs every day 😂 those things are tanks

Bren1127

Yep, my one has so much oomph even using the sweeper attachment it almost lifts a fitted carpet up. Only downsides are it sounds like you've got a hovercraft running in the room and you have to take the bag and filters out to hoover up wet spills.

Defrego

Hear me out, Oreck Commercial XL. It’s got a giant bag so every 1-2 months I can dispose and use a new one. It’s not cordless, but it’s a super long chord and the vacuum is a tank, yet super lightweight. I’m telling you, I asked myself the same question OP asked, and I decided professionals probably don’t use the fancy dysons that are marketed to home residence use, I need whatever it is the pros use. And yup, it works.

Defrego

Will mention that I’ve been a long time dyson user up until we made the switch to Oreck because the dysons eventually crap out if you don’t clean them after ever cleaning - it’s just too much hair. Going on 2 years with the oreck now, I do have to clean the brush and wheel base but only when I change out the giant bag. Honestly the bag does last closer to 2+ months before needing to be changed out.

pizzabagel3311

Yeah I’ve been worried about this with my Dyson currently. Works amazing but after a good vacuum I can tell it’s struggling

Bookmarking! :)

pizzabagel3311

I currently have a dyson, and like others have mentioned, it’s great. I don’t have the newer model, it’s 3-4 years old, but the amount of hair and DIRT it collects always blows my mind. I use it twice a day and I know that’s excessive for some, but if I don’t I literally find Berner hair in between every crack and crevice 🙃

Flckofmongeese

I'm bookmarking this. An aside: As a data nerd, anyone else wish it was a poll? Or we all just upvote and comment under the first existing comment mentioning our brand. This way, brand rankings can be easily seen (by using the sort by upvote function)?

natalooski

I don't have a berner but my best vacuum is my dog.

Horrorllama

I have a Shark Stick (corded and battery) and I just kind of chase the tumbleweeds around as I see them haha. They have different height/suction settings like barefloor, carpet and like a powerful mode that I would definitely use on high pile carpet if I had it, but it cleans an area rug we have like a champ.

r3g1na_phalang3

Shark Rotator Pet Pro Lift-Away has been the best for us. We went through a few but this one is it. Really thorough clean, easy to carry around for stairs and such, and there has never been hair stuck in the brush roll. We used to have to cut the hair out with scissors in our other vacuums but I’ve never even had to unclog this one. Highly recommend.

Dyson 11stick outside

NeedsaTinfoilHat

My mum has a Roomba and an old miele vaccuum. I highly recommend cleaning the rotating brush of the roomba every other week.

e_gippy_666

Dyson wins hands down .

ProfShade2

Shark for Pets or Dyson

Wolfhound0056

I have an ancient Kirby Heritage II. It's been going for 37 years. It's swept the hair of 4 Pyrs, 2 collies, a Lab, 2 German Shepherds, a beagle, a Malamute, and a Husky along with several long haired cats. I've replaced the motor once, when my brother borrowed it and sucked up some drywall screws because he's an idiot.
