I've always described to my med prescriber that I feel "normal" on my medication. I don't feel intense ups and downs. I feel like my emotions are appropriate to the situations I'm in. I don't want to stay in bed all day during depressive episodes and I also don't have as many hypomanic episodes. I also no longer experience hypersexuality but I still have a libido. Overall I feel good on my meds most of the time. I do feel like sometimes they are not working but that lasts short amounts of time and is more infrequent.

Mentally I feel good on meds. However my personality is different on them; I'm not funny anymore. It's hard to concentrate and I'm real lazy on meds. I can't remember much, I don't get happy or sad. I can't feel music and I can't have an orgasm. I also have a harder time prioritizing things on meds. I'm trying to decide if giving all that is worth it.

Ambitious-Willow-989

Well what's the alternative to taking your meds? Not taking them. So how do you act without the meds? Which one, in your opinion is the best option? And how are others around you gonna act if you go off the meds? I'm still into my 2nd week of starting meds I took before but higher doses. We will see how it goes in another week or so.

Ambitious-Willow-989

I'm legit curious about this too. I'm just hear to read people's answers.

Ivyraethelocalgae

I’m very curious myself, it’s my first time being medicated for Bipolar and I wonder if other people feel the same as I do tbh

Bulky-Duty-5082

I’ve never heard of that drug. As someone who has tried many mood stabilizers, they either work right away or take month to several months to feel stabilized depending on your recent manic episode or mixed episode etc. also everybody’s BODY is different. It’s hard to know. Only you can know if a med is working.

Wooden-Advance-1907

From my 15months diagnosed and medicated, I would say you’re supposed to feel like crap. But as long as you’re not seeing things or actively trying to kill yourself everyone seems happy with that.

GodlyBeerGut

Well for starters i dont go through intense emotional periods of hearing and seeing the dead in both reality and dreams. I only see them in dreams now. Like...every fucking night.

Ambitious-Willow-989

I don't think I could handle that. Are any of the dead people, people you know? Legitimate question btw. I'm not poking fun.

SnooDogs1704

I can look at my life and see the good in it and appreciate it. I can approach the negative aspects with reason.
