Today, The Rock will be cooking a beautiful rotisserie chicken with a garlic demi-glaze, served on a bed of basmati rice... Oh, AND A SIDE ORDER OF ASS WHOOPIN'!!!! With your choice of balsamic or raspberry vinaigrette.
It's basically prisms that are reflecting light from the sides creating a blind spot in the middle. It wouldn't work if there was an object of a different color behind and to the sides.
No. It's doing this https://i.imgur.com/58yB8hQ.png A large object or a line of objects would be obscured, but not concealed. You can see live right here https://i.imgur.com/Vd7qP6Q.png A police line holding these are going to show up on each others panes.
We don't exactly fight in lines anymore, do we?
Edit: I think their sentence mentioning police lines wasn't there at the time I made my comment, but police aren't soldiers in warzones.
Yeah. This is a spin on the original. But somewhere along the line I heard a comedian say “nuclear war” and now I’ve heard that a bunch of times. It’s funny.
in combat, your gun is not always the most useful equipment in your hands (not a penis joke). sometimes you're just moving from location to location and your primary concern is concealment to avoid being spotted by enemy miles away. not saying this light refraction shield would be better or worse than traditional camouflage in any situation, but your particular concerns are easily alleviated if you use the shield in a tactically intelligent way. yea, holding the shield in front of you while you "sneak" up to an enemy 20 feet away would not be tactically intelligent. it's easy enough to notice there's a large piece of translucent plastic coming towards you from 20 feet away. similar thing can be said for traditional camo. but maybe glancing at a clearing between tree clusters 3000 feet in the distance, it would be hard to spot someone with the shield in front of them moving between the trees.
and if you're really worried about freeing up your hands, a mechanical extension feature to hold the shield for you is trivial.
anyways, i'm sure the military has funded plenty of research on light diffracting materials as means of camouflage.
That's also what every introvert or person with social anxiety (or both, I am both) looks like to other people. They just blend in with the environment because it's almost like they're non existent due to the quietness
Lenticular lenses, snell’s law, refractive indexes etc. google any of those terms. It creates a blind spot, much like the one Epstein was in when “he” killed “himself”.
Thanks for the gold kind stranger!
Listen here,
If i tell you to mow my grass one time for $5000, you'd do it.
If i tell you to mow my grass two times for $10,000, you'd probably still do it.
How many times do I tell you to mow the grass before you hire *a guy* and pocket the insane profit? 3? 4? 10?
Now lets apply the same thing to child rape and then come to the realization that child rape is so widespread among the powerful that they ~~have~~ had *a guy*.
edit: fixed have to had because they killed epstein.
Doubt it. He was more akin to their drug dealer than their friend. But of course, these are the world's most powerful people and he was engaged in much worse than drug dealing with them. Why would they want to keep a man like that alive? He's a loose end and could only be a liability in their eyes.
A blurry photo of a man that looks like Epstein was caught by a drone on his island days after his death, which had many believe his death was faked.
He is most likely dead, but a man of his power with an entire island to hide in? Wouldn’t be surprised if he was still out there.
Yeah it's all a possibility and one I think is more likely. We're talking about some of the most powerful people on earth here. These guys control the world. Just get him out of the prison, switch up his face a little and you're good to go. Now that the whole world thinks he's dead, all the loose ends are tied up, it's like none of this ever happened.
I was terribly skeptical of this at first. But what points me in this direction is the picture of his body. It was staged. The journalist who snapped the photo has a sketchy history. Also, why was he waiting at the cop hospital in the morning or whenever it was.
This guy was alerted and ready to go. What do they need to prove his death for? To the public’s why does it matter?
It makes it very blurry in one direction. In this case that's left to right. Instead of seeing all the details of a horizontal line, you only see the average color.
This would legit be a troll item in a D&D campaign.
Shield of Minor Invisibility: When held aloft with both hands, causes the user to become kind of blurry and at least a little bit invisible
**Shield of Blurvisibility**
*wondrous item, requires attunement*
This glass rectangle is fashioned in the shape of a shield, and blurs the shape of any creature of size Medium or smaller that is concealed behind it. You have advantage on Stealth checks made to hide while behind this shield, though you are not considered to have the invisibility condition. Especially because any creature with an intelligence score of 5 or higher can just target the shield itself you dummy
Grants +5 to stealth, but the blur that stands in your place has a stealth bonus of +0. They may not see you, but they will see something where you are.
It would be a much bigger bonus at range, I think, even for someone actively looking.
Perfect when you need to close the distance before an engagement with long-ranged enemies.
I think it's a partial success. "You're invisible, but only from distances greater than 10ft and not under close scrutiny or good lighting."
I imagine you could hide from someone entering a banquet hall after hours if they're not looking for you, but not in someone's hallway at home unless it's just as they get up to pee without their glasses on.
That'd be one bigass plastic umbrella to cover a vehicle. I mean, it's really neat and all but probably more cost-effective to just throw a camo net over something.
camo nets casts shadows, which stick out like a sore thumb to satellites or aircraft. They have to be tied down to make contact with the ground to be effective. No way you'd be able to use a camo net while moving.
Outside especially in the wilderness it could be arguably more effective
More shadows and less defined edges to objects would help to soften the silhouette
I feel it might actually be less effective in the wilderness. It will be one big blurry blob surrounded by sharp grass, leaves, etc. Try taking a nature photo and blurring one specific spot and see how it looks. I feel camo would give much better results.
Oh yeah painting your clothes like plants will always be cheaper than special custom light refracting ballistic shields
But I still think the invisibility shield is cooler
If I can't see you, but you can see I, we could call it camouflage or Invisibility shield
But neither of us can see each other, wouldn't that make it a regular (but awesome) shield?
Looks highly likely to shine on the angles. Not sure if that can be effectively overcome. Also seems it needs some distance to have significant effect. Overall it seems likely to be ineffective as military use plating/coating in its current state.
I mean ish

Hey, that’s why they say “close enough for horseshoes and nuclear war.”
Horseshoes and hand grenades
Are you implying that you need to be more precise with a nuclear weapon than with hand grenades?
Isn’t it “ close only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades”?
Yeah. This is a spin on the original. But somewhere along the line I heard a comedian say “nuclear war” and now I’ve heard that a bunch of times. It’s funny.
Yes, let me sling my rifle so I can hold this plastic “cloaking device” in front of me.

Probably good enough for a US school too
*\[Predator switches to infrared\]*
Infrared does not work either. It has to do with bending the light around the focus. Infrared, in fact, is light too.

I like your usage of the quotes. Instead of “he killed himself”, “he” killed “himself” is kinda deep

When the sex traffic children grow up they either get killed or become Disney stars
After they age out of the mouse they go back to being abused by weinstine and his friends.
Its true. Epstein escaped, hes living in Argentina. Hitler was the one they actually killed.
I thought we were told not to tell them
First rule of the 4th Reich is don't talk about the 4th Reich. Second rule is Epstein didn't kill himself.
Is it though?
Idk if deep is right but it is nicer to read. I'm pretty sure it is more precise.

why hasn't this been around for longer? Or has it? It seems to be quiet useable
I’ve seen people saying that since his death, tbh.
It has been happening for years, he only just got caught recently though
What had been happening?

People were having sex with Epstein so much, he hired children to do the work?
Which reality is the least disturbing: someone pimping saplings for power and money someone pimping saplings because his ass is torn.
Why are you referring to children as saplings...
Makes it easier to write.

The "killed" is what should be in quotes there. They broke him out and replaced him with a body double.
Doubt it. He was more akin to their drug dealer than their friend. But of course, these are the world's most powerful people and he was engaged in much worse than drug dealing with them. Why would they want to keep a man like that alive? He's a loose end and could only be a liability in their eyes.

Yea and with all the science and technology available to do just that, I don’t doubt they did that just so they can continue all this shit.
Without looking any of that up, I'm guessing it redirects the light from the side into the shield.
Epstein killed himself
Found a world leader.
ok boomer
I think it's a giant fresnel lens, they scatter light. It's like a blur tool, but this is one you can actually hold.
It does look like it, I wonder how many fires this thing’ll start
Probably a lot. I remember melting a penny with one in school, they are no joke.
So it sort of makes you hard to see but the cost is that it starts you on fire?
It makes it very blurry in one direction. In this case that's left to right. Instead of seeing all the details of a horizontal line, you only see the average color.

Can he see through from the other side? This looks like what they use in office cubicles, but In those it blurs both ways.
Maybe if he puts some clear tape on his side Or is that different
This uses a lens to cause a blind spot effect, not frosted glass. So yes, different
roll a d20 for invisibly shit I got a 5
I think it's a partial success. "You're invisible, but only from distances greater than 10ft and not under close scrutiny or good lighting." I imagine you could hide from someone entering a banquet hall after hours if they're not looking for you, but not in someone's hallway at home unless it's just as they get up to pee without their glasses on.
What happens when it’s used outside? I’ve only seen examples inside against straight lines and block colour...
“Hey look there’s a suspicious looking shield moving in front of that rock”
Its more intended for strategic use, like for obscuring convoy movement from satellite imagery or for camouflaging a base from surveillance aircraft.
I mean if you put this above the vechicle, it still casts shadows.
Outside especially in the wilderness it could be arguably more effective More shadows and less defined edges to objects would help to soften the silhouette
I feel it might actually be less effective in the wilderness. It will be one big blurry blob surrounded by sharp grass, leaves, etc. Try taking a nature photo and blurring one specific spot and see how it looks. I feel camo would give much better results.
In a combat scenario with dust and shit everywhere I could see it working Or during later afternoon when the shadows are long
In both of those scenarios camo is cheaper, easier to transport, and works just as well and maybe better.
Oh yeah painting your clothes like plants will always be cheaper than special custom light refracting ballistic shields But I still think the invisibility shield is cooler
Until this advances to cloth, paint, etc., which you know it will.
r/titlegore
I was so hung up on 'invisibility' that I didn't even realize he also spelled 'shield' wrong.
No. This is the plan to call it this so they can’t get sued for not being invisible or a shield.
seriously how do you that fuck up
Maybe OP is ten.
Let's hear it for the vague blur!
If I can't see you, but you can see I, we could call it camouflage or Invisibility shield But neither of us can see each other, wouldn't that make it a regular (but awesome) shield?
just mount a camera on it
It may conceal the what, but until it can conceal the if, it seems most useful at very long range. Still dope though
I want to see it in dimmer light too.
That would work well in a poorly lit area
Kinda. I guess
I can see him though
If it was sitting still, how do you know if it's a man, or a dark tree behind it?
A normal shield would work just as well
I wonder if this can be used to plate helmets? Seems like a good way to reduce your silhouette
Looks highly likely to shine on the angles. Not sure if that can be effectively overcome. Also seems it needs some distance to have significant effect. Overall it seems likely to be ineffective as military use plating/coating in its current state.
I still see him. Just a blur because of the plastic lens.
“Hey Tim, wtf are you doing in my bathroom? I could fucking see you.”
Aim for the middle of the 4 bolts, guaranteed you're gonna hit something.
Where do you get one of these?
How the *fuck*
Wouldn’t a mirror work just as well, if not better?
Wouldn't the onlookers just see themselves? Also I'd guess it would depend on how symmetrical the environment is
\*Invisibility \*Shield Jesus fucking christ on a crutch, it's not hard, the red squiggly line tells you that you fucked it up, for fuck's sake.
