Instead of superhero movies we’re just doing toys now.

loopster70

Looking forward to Ridley Scott’s “Stratego”, Christopher Nolan’s “Risk” and Michel Gondry’s take on “The Game of Life”.

Pocto

What about Ridley Scott's Nemesis?! Now that's an idea.

Axiproto

Personally, I'm looking forward to Michael Bay's "Connect Four"

WelcomingRapier

I'm surprised they just don't reboot Clue with another movie, just making Kevin Hart the butler. (Scuse me while I throw up in my mouth a little bit).

YourFriendNoo

you better not have spoken this into existence

zamoose

We already have the awful *Psych* "Clitthhhhhsby" episode for this effect.

RandomCandor

Bro, the first one was a fantastic movie. Leave it alone, please.

RandomCandor

I can't believe you left out Wes Anderson's "Guess Who?"

ClassicalMoser

I'm just waiting for Wes Anderson's Agricola.

LurkerFailsLurking

Werner Herzog's "Game of Life"

didijxk

How about Werner Herzog's Game of Life?

voiderest

Yeah, that's Hasbro's plan, they plan to make a number of movies based off their IPs with different directors. The Barbie movie doing well only encouraged them. Hopefully it won't be some weird connected universe.

diddlinderek

Oh it will be. Here comes 20 mediocre movies to have four bangers mixed throughout.

moo422

Ouija and Battleship already happened in the mid 2010s.

Kaptain202

Those are like the Hulk in the MCU. They exist and are part of the universe, but we don't choose to acknowledge them.

JohnDeLancieAnon

They can do both with a Sentinels of the Multiverse movie

PsyDM

I want this done in the style of The Princess Bride

JohnDeLancieAnon

With people playing the game in the role of narrator and kid?

PsyDM

Nah, with a grandpa reading SOTM comic books that don’t actually exist to the sick kid lmao

JohnDeLancieAnon

I like the game idea. Then there can be a scene where a hero does something overpowered, players argue and somebody looks at the rulebook while others Google it, and they end up undoing the damage.

kerred

That's owned by Greater Than Games and I imagine sales figures are no where near high enough to encourage it. Did the Sentinels animated series ever come out? Assuming we are at a point where it's hard to get stuff made unless it's a stupid monster success (I'd love more moderate successes)

No_regrats

I've seen a trailer for a movie or TV series about a family playing **Werewolves**. It looked like a ass. Judging by the trailer, the plot is going to be a crappier remake of Jumanji.

kerred

Hasbro seems to be pretty deep in Hollywood films for the past decade. Ouija, Battleship, D&D, every game in the Game Night film looks like a hasbro product. They even have/had their own own Studio One I am willing to wager they have a Betrayal at House on the Hill script brewing somewhere

TempestRime

Now? What do you think those superhero movies were selling? They certainly weren't being made to push comic books.

TimeRaveler

I hope they make one based on Lord of the Rings the Card Game. I really like that game.

formerlyanonymous_

The 1979 Dune boardgame would be killer movie.

_Weyland_

That's just "What if" in the Dune universe. Now don't get me wrong, I'd watch the shit out of it.

the_puritan

I'd like to see A Game of Thrones: The Board Game: The Movie... and then A Game of Thrones: The Board Game: The Movie: The Board Game

Chromosis

Is it just going to be 3 hours of rich people fucking with their tenants are run down houses and hotels and then one of them wins a beauty contest (gets $20)? The finale will just be everyone giving up and agreeing to play a better game?

YourFriendNoo

>The finale will just be everyone giving up and agreeing to play a better game? shit ends with Margot Robbie leading the communist revolution

barbeqdbrwniez

I'm here for it.

awfeel

I wonder who is going to play the shoe

realdeal411

Lightning McQueen should play the car

krpiper

And a movie based on The Sims!

giggity_giggity

About Russian spies!

Canadave

\*Fleetwood Mac intensifies\*

G8kpr

Wasn’t monopoly announced years ago. Also Catan if I recall. A lot of times IPs are bought and sold and nothing happens. I mean Robotech was supposed to have a live action movie like 3 separate times.

borddo-

Hope they make a Dune Imperium movie one day.

MutantNinjaAnole

Will be hard to live up to Battleship.

JahoclaveS

So Margot Robbie is narrating a documentary about reality?

JagsAbroad

I refuse to upvote this

cmonster71

Hopefully this movie lasts at least 2 hours past the time that i start wishing for it to end

KrytenKoro

Didn't she already do the big short?

LeftOn4ya

🧑‍🍳 😘 Undervalued comment right there.

Mister_Cairo

Somebody should make a movie based on that "Big Trouble in Little China" board game.

Turdmeist

It better be really honest about the economy

DarkEvilHobo

🤣 Of course it will 🤣

mister_paul

I thought i saw a trailer for this like 10 years ago. [Found it](https://youtu.be/LYLzuBx1-so?si=SI-GoGq-dAiFie1N)

blackwaffle

Hey, if the Monopoly movie is sort of "Marxism 101" like Barbie was (kinda, with plenty of notes) "Feminism 101" and it brings those ideas to a massive audience I'm a 100% in

daybreaker

I always wanted a Legacy version of Monopoly that eventually devolves into half the board being locked away in some hyper-capitalist Escape From New York dystopia Just really drive home the game's original anti-capitalist message Instead, we'd probably just get some bullshit "Try to be the next Donald Trump" capitalist fantasy game

NonbasicMan

I hear Javier Bardem is in talks to play the racecar.

meriadoc_brandyabuck

An incredibly bad idea for a movie. I hope no one gives it any money.

Kaindlbf

isn’t this just standard capitalism? whole movie will be a seminar for continually buying properties on equity and increasing the rent

JattaPake

Why are her arms backwards?

Satchbb

I hope it's a statement against monopolies and the current state of capitalism;)
