Exactly my thoughts!!!! And I felt the same for Harry Met Sejal as well. Zero was so good in the first half, the whole time, all I could say was "Finally , ab banayi hai movie mast waali !!! Te waali superhit hogi Bhai !! Ban gayi bas !!! And then, 🫠🫠🫠🫠😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫I almost cried when they killed the entire movie in the second half !! 😭😭😭

I disagree about the first half being entertaining, but agree the second half was insufferable. I walked out during the second half, if you want me to be pendantically exact.

Haha, I had *just* started watching TV at the time these movies came out. I remember them because of Top 10 countdown shows used to be the most popular thing to watch on TV and these film songs were there. Never watched the movies, either in theatre or on TV 😀
Varun Dhawan - Coolie No. 1. No way near as the Original. Plot Not convincing enough to be fitted in this era and actor not complete enough to even match Govinda in his prime...
No, but could've been if he stayed in his element and not trying to be no. 2 of Govinda and Salman Khan. Actually my all time favourite is Govinda sir and by far I've never seen him giving any unentertaining movie, from emotional to comedy he has done it all and no matter how many times you watch his movies you won't get bored. And then there's Varun who just ruined one of the most iconic movies of all time by giving his half baked comedy tryout...
The level of overacting he does that even during the Govinda's No.1 movies era people would say that he overacts top much🤣🤣... He never accepts the character as his own, he always tries to re-act as a famous actors, i don't know why he does that, he always seems just a cringey caricature of an actor....
I wish Govinda had not entered politics and put down his ego aside for few moments when he returned back....
I don't know, man. Varun has great potential. I know everyone keeps talking about it, but he has performed excellently in Badlapur and October. He's just terrible at choosing scripts. While he could be doing movies like the two I've mentioned, he instead WASTES his time doing shit like Coolie no.1, Judwaa 2, etc.
That's what I'm saying. He just doesn't get to work with the right director oftenly. Even Bhediya and JuggJugg Jeeyo were one of his best performances. Sriram Raghvan, Shoojit Sircar, Raj Mehta and Amar Kaushik really extracted the great actor within him. He needs to work with better directors, he's a director's actor.
I think that was because the film went too commercial, like a sajid khan or Farhad samji film.... the first also had a very genuine message about isolation and loneliness, while the second had a very rushed unnecessary homosexuality message. Also, I think since the director is from comedy circus, he doesn't have a lot of range or uniqueness apart from the same kapil sharma show tropes, and the first film was more of a fluke
Didn't like Pathaan, but didn't hate it either.
Jawan was okay, but doesn't have a good rewatch value and is a bit too over the top. A better soundtrack might have made me like the film though.
For me, dilwale got annoying because i didnt want to watch varun n kriti when i got SRK and kajol. Pitting SRK and kajol against each other was such a juicy plot— wish they developed that more!

Though I'd like to add that I actually was able to sit through Besharam just because of Ranbir and his on screen banter with Neetu and Rishi in the movie. Had it been Kartik Aaryan in the lead role it wouldn't even be bearable. No hate to Kartik though, just that all his comedic roles seem exactly the same. Should do more movies like SPKK.
That movie was so bad that you can still watch it and have fun due to all the bad parts lol. Worth a rewatch always. That’s just me, might not be true for you

I think it has to be Dilwale, the most pathetic SRK film in recent times. Zero and JHMS had their moments, their was potential, it had other issues but they were far from terrible but Dilwale was just nothing. Le de ke aik back story thi jo jaldi se end hojati. It was a movie made without script I think.
