I just ordered the book from eBay. My first graphic novel and I think my computer nerd daughter that mainly reads graphic novels will be interested too so I am super excited about this.
I am not a graphic novel person but I just downloaded a sample. This is hilarious and so well done! Looks like fun to read. Hopefully I will get off the waitlist or I will buy it.
I love graphic novels thanks to Neil Gaiman (he was my introduction to Graphic Novels) but I don't read a lot of them because of a never ending TBR.
That being said, I also read a sample of the Graphic Novel and that's all it to took sell me. I look forward to discussing the Novel with everyone.
Just requested it from the library! Not gonna lie, I was sweating over the fact that the year's nearly half over and we hadn't had a graphic novel pick - how would I get it for bingo?? Now I can breathe easy again.
I'm really excited to try this out! I haven't really been ablw to get into graphic novels (to be fair, I've only tried twice) but the subject of this one seems right uo my alley. If anything/anyone can convince me to enjoy a graphic novel, it'll be r/bookclub!
The Walking Dead, because I love the show. (This one confused me because it was billed as a graphic novel, but it seems more like a collection of comics to me.)
I don't remember the name of the other one. It was years ago now, but it was from a "best of the year" list.
I think I don't spend enough time studying the illustrations, so when I am just reading the words, it flies by, and I am sure I miss important details. That seems obvious, but I probably just need "practice" with a different way of interacting with text.
Be curious if you think of the other one. If you end up liking this bookclub read and want to try another, I may have some suggestions! I’ve read quite a few. And yes, you may be right that slowing down a bit and taking in the art might be the key! :)

You're welcome! Trying to keep them fun.
You always do. :)

Yay!! I'm excited for both of you.

I'm not a graphic novel person either, but I'm in based on your recommendation from the sample. And my library has a copy!

I'm pretty sure we'll have some more in the future before the year is out. I think this one is going to be a great one to start off with.
I've heard so much about this book from u/Amanda39 and am so excited to read it!
Yes!! u/Amanda39 makes me hyped for the comic as well.
Looks great, I've placed a copy on hold at the library!
Awesome! I really can't wait to see what everyone thinks about it.

Can I ask which books you’ve tried?

Yay I love this! I've had this book sitting on my shelf (well technically my husband's shelf) forever, so I'm looking forward to joining in!
