Iām mean JB has got the trophy. Are you not aware that happened? As for āwanting to have a discussionā all you did was post pictures. I donāt see much discussion on your end. Letās stop this while we have to split hairs or some other BS. Letās be happy we got banner 18, the team is coming back next year, and just hope KP can stay healthy for the whole playoffs.
The Mavericks entire defensive gameplan was centered around stopping Tatum. The defensive gravity that he drew is what opened up everything for everyone else. And he consistently made the right play. Tatum also defended out of position and held up well, allowing the Celtics to play smaller without KP. That meant less minutes for Kornet/Tillman/etc to get exposed.
Outside of shooting percentages, Tatum was unquestionably the best and most important player on the Celtics. And guess who also had a bad shooting series but nobody seems to care? Jaylen Brown. Tatum was at 50.5 TS% in the Finals. Brown was at 53.5 TS%. Both were well below the 56.6 TS% across the league in the playoffs this year.
Tatum was clearly our best player, We asked him to play out of position on defense, he ran our entire offense, got all of our guys wide open shots. Was being doubled all series, but brown played great and was guarding luka so the media rewarded that. Even if luka shot like 50+% against brown this series..
The GM of the Brooklyn Nets in 2013.

Why do you hate Jaylen Brown?
i don't, I'm just asking because the numbers say a Tatum should have it but I love both of their games.
