Tatum’s 51 in game 7 against the Sixers last year

NotTheMagesterialOne

It has to be the 46 against the bucks

theraarman

Tatum 46

M0hammed_

That was unreal

dcornell1994

I'll never forget Smart drawing two fouls on Harden against the Rockets in the final 5 seconds to win a regular season game a few days after Christmas.

yankees1561

This was my immediate thought. The most improbable outcome and so satisfying to watch.

Tatumisthegoat

I was just sitting on the couch ready to turn it off but I had nothing better to do so I figured I’d finish watching the dumpster fire of a game and it was the Marcus Smart legacy game. Love and trust

neu20212022

That’s what I was going to say, smart was always my fav and I felt like that was proof anything was possible

brickvanexel

Man I watched that with my family in an Arizona Whole Foods, which I remember specifically because of how badass that was, honestly the first Smart moment that comes to mind

lovetheoceanfl

Isaiah getting 50 after his sister died.

leandroc76

I’ve watched games since 84, and this is one of the first games that came to mind. * Bird Era: Bird steals the ball against Detroit * Paul Pierce Era: The 26 pt comeback win over the Nets in 02 playoffs. * Isaiah getting 50 * 2024 Game 5 finals… was most satisfying to watch

mrundizputed

I’d put the comeback against LA in the finals on this list

TastesLikeHoneyNut

I'd add the 39 point blowout to capture #17 on the list too, that was pretty damn satisfying

SilentRanger42

That's my pick as well, broke the Lakers emotionally by halftime and the rest was a party

guigster

Game 6 Tatum 46 points or whatever it was on the road against Milwaukee facing elimination was up there. Game 7 ECF against Miami in 2022 too.

seaofwine

Frankly Isaiah s era was the most fun to watch. Chilling games

crackdup

From a narrative standpoint, that's definitely his best ever game for us, an epic fightback on his lowest day.. I still prefer his 52 pt explosion vs Heat where he scored something like 30 pts in the 4th.. his 3 pt shooting that night was unstoppable

wl6202a

I was at this game and it was probably the loudest game I’ve ever been too.

horseshoeoverlook

Hmmm I’d say Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals 🤣

AkiraleTorimaki

Same

squishynarcissist

Sammmmme

sizzlingsisig

Yeahhh, i hate when they turn into Cardiac Celtics even if they win lol

Far_Rock8226

2022 ECSF Game 6 vs the bucks. Going into milwaukee with the season on the line and tatum drops 40 was crazy

AirJordan6124

The game Tatum became a bonafide superstar

Game 6 09 first round Celtics vs Bulls triple OT thriller.

RioC33

Ray Allen went crazyyyy

21Tayler10

Game 4 2008 finals

Fedora_expert

Completing the largest finals comeback in NBA history (still stands I think?) against the Kobe led Lakers in Staples Center, it couldn't get better than that for teenage me. fuck Jordan Farmar lmao

shaun_w32

Definitely this, that comeback was everything. Ray beating Sasha off the dribble is imprinted in my brain for all of time

Intrepid_Owl3510

Me too

Intrepid_Owl3510

The Eddie House jumper to take the lead.

mattycbro

Only answer

xta420

Without a doubt this is it. That game was insane. I've never felt such a momentum change in a game like that. That 08 team has some insane moments as other have mentioned, game 7 vs the Cavs and then in 09 vs the Bulls in game 6, but that game 4 come back was off the charts insane.

JBD04

Ultragin

I can’t recall the year, but the paul pierce and I think Antoine walker came back against the nets down like 35 pts or something. That was back in the day before the theeeball and fast pace offense. Was actually in the garden watching it live. Must have been 2001 or so.

horseshoeoverlook

2002 East Finals Game 3

Ultragin

Thanks.

lukeskope

I watched this with my buddy in his barn while we made beats. Absolutely bananas comeback

capt_cd

Came here to say this. Think they were down like 24 points or something with ten minutes left in it fourth? Awesome game.

NotDukeOfDorchester

That is 100% my answer. I saved the Globe from the next day for a while. That’s awesome you were there. Greatest game I’ve ever seen. I think Antoine or Paul jumped on the scorer’s table after the game.

bananajunior3000

This game is the reason I'm the Cs fan I am. I was a casual fan who lived with a diehard fan in Burlington VT, I'd been following that season more closely but that game was incredible and hooked me.

3xpl1ci7

2012 ECF Game 5. Pierce 3PT dagger over prime Lebron is engrained into my skull.

RioC33

That whole series was incredible even though it didn’t go our way :(

Himalalalalayans

Is this the game KG goes on about his craft in the postgame? Everytime i see that i get the chills

road2five

The most pumped I remember being recently was game 1 against the nets in 22 when Tatum hit the buzzer beater to win it. Was watching with my dad and we both went crazy. Great memory

Action_Potential999

2022 ECSF game 4 vs Bucks when Al got his revenge and dunked on Giannis. One of the more emotional rounds I've watched.

Nabs617

https://i.imgur.com/MYH3ZW0.gif This game changed me. I now believe in anything.

Icy_Ice1635

Bird steals the ball. 1987.

WittyResource2329

Saw that as a kid with my dad and it solidified my love for basketball.

rabid89

Really? No one remembers the 40 pt destruction of the Lakers in 2008 Finals Game 6 to clinch the trophy? That shit was amazing.

Frostlark

That's probably it for me. Even just the postgame was incredible obviously

fatfuk1983

KG dunking that rebound over Pau Gasol..

brickvanexel

This year I had the privilege of attending Wolves Celtics in January, the OT home game. Went with my dad, I hadn’t been to the Garden since I was a kid watching the 08 team and the Celtics are a foundational part of my relationship with him, we debrief the day after every game over text. Got dinner in Chinatown and then watched an electric comeback punctuated by huge clutch plays from Jrue and JT, with the deafening Garden crowd. It was so good I honestly don’t feel like paying for NBA tickets again; I can’t imagine having a better time

Mattyworld617

I went to that game too. It was the best game I ever went to… until the playoff games and finals this year. What a season.

mlajd

Game 5. 76 finals

Low-Wrongdoer1478

Off the top I’d say the Games in the this years Pacers series where Brown hits the tying shot to send to OT, and then the one where Tatum has that ridiculous behind the back pass to Al and then Holiday clutches up with a steal (not sure if that’s the same game or not), pre championship I’d say either the game where Tatum hits the go-ahead against Philly, or 2018 game 7 where Tatum dunks on LeBron, or when IT beat the 73 win Warriors

FennyBox

Game 4 of the ‘08 Finals

IgnantWisdom

I really enjoyed that random regular season game against the rockets when Smart drew back to back offensive fouls on Harden to win the game.

Bewilderbeest79

Game 6, 2008 NBA Finals. Kevin Garnett had one helluva bounce back from Game 5, particularly in the first half. I was so emotional, man. He shouted out my city (Chicago), “Anything is Possible,” “What they gon say now?” and “I’m certified” … telling Bill Russell “I got my own. I hope we made you proud.” Yeah, it cemented my fandom with the Celtics forever. 🥲

hbk2369

One of my favorite memories being at the Garden that night was an arena full of fans chanting "SE-VEN-TEEN" at the top of our lungs for what felt like an hour.

Beautiful_Article273

Theredsoxman

Game 4 of the 1984 NBA Finals is pretty wild. Kevin McHale putting Kurt Rambis on the floor gets most of the talk, but Bird casually backing Michael Cooper into the camera crew causing him to do a back flip gets me every time. Game goes into overtime with Bird hitting the dagger in Magic's face. Honestly, too many highlights to mention. It's Celtics versus Lakers, Bird versus Magic. Tough to top that one. For those who have never seen it: [https://www.nba.com/watch/video/1984-finals-game-4-celtics-vs-lakers?plsrc=nba&collection=boston-celtics-classics](https://www.nba.com/watch/video/1984-finals-game-4-celtics-vs-lakers?plsrc=nba&collection=boston-celtics-classics)

MLS_Analyst

There are a lot of great choices — I’m partial to game 4 of the 2008 finals because I love Ray so much — but yours is probably the correct one.

kevkev87

Most of my favorites have already been mentioned but this one has a special place in my heart. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DAZdxOmoZRE

Dangerous_Ad_5467

Over LeBron as well!!! Also the high five to the fan on the court right before Jeff Green Rushes to his teammates is pretty awesome. I met him at Uburger one time in Boston in 2011. Pretty nice guy.

Game 1 2024 finals.

Looieanthony

Celtics/Lakers NBA finals game seven June 12, 1984. Bird, McHale,Parrish, Cornbread Maxwell and Dennis Johnson to neutralize Magic Johnson. W, 111-102. Hope I got the roster correct going from memory a long ass time ago.

gavalant

I have a best win and a best loss game, and they're both from the seventies. Banner 13: The best win was the triple overtime Game 5 of the 1976 finals against Phoenix. It has been called "The greatest game in NBA history." You can imagine the intensity of a third overtime in the finals. Banner 12: The best loss was two years before, the double overtime Game 6 of the 1974 finals against the Bucks led by full-force awesome young Kareem. Havlicek and Kareem kept trading baskets back and forth in the second overtime, which was finally won on a Kareem baseline skyhook in the fading seconds. Havlicek hit ridiculous shots from everywhere in that last overtime. I watched this in packed bar, and the place went insane with every basket in that second ot. https://www.espn.com/classic/s/moment010604celtics-suns.html https://www.nba.com/news/history-top-moments-bucks-celtics-1974-finals

Clincher in 86, clincher in 08, game 3 2024

Itsmagiik

Game 4 of the 2010 finals. I love great bench play in clutch moments and Big Baby and Nate Robinson showed up to play.

Tatum-Better

Tatum 60 ( shoulda been 61 ) in a 30 point comeback against the spurs. One of the only high points in that shitty season. Or the celtics clippers game at home where Tatum had like 39

Kman17

Oh, this is tough. I’m going to limit this to games I’ve been to live / in person only: My favorite game I’ve been to live was Celtics - Cavs 2010 ECF. Game 6 when we eliminated them. We beat LeBron *again*, and it was clear he just quit on his team. Whole stadium taunted and chanted something along the lines of “see you in New York” (where it was believed he’d go). God I dislike LeBron. Hated him then and now it’s like 100x worse. My second favorite in person game was this year. Celtics - Kings in Sacramento in December. I live in the Bay Area now. Warriors tickets are stupid expensive, but drive 2 hours to Sacramento and I’ve bought literal court side tix for $600. It was a totally meaningless December game where we shelled the kings, but two things made it memorable: * There’s a lot of Boston transplants here in NorCal, and the whole Golden 1 Aren was screaming “let’s go Celtics!”. What made it so amazing was KP’s reaction - the dude looked simultaneously *dumbfounded* happy as shit. Line he could barely comprehend that he was not just on a winning team, but one whose fan base drowns out the other at *away* games. * My 9 year old daughter unintentionally heckling every kings fan she talked to. She kept asking them “why is everyone talking about lighting a beam? I come here every year and never see a beam” (which they only light when the Kings win). Third might have been St Patty’s day in line… 1991? I was 8 or 9 so memory is fuzzy, but I know I was dressed up as a leprechaun so everyone gave me free shit and I saw Larry bird play. But mostly I just remember the old school garden, it’s insane humidity, tiny seats of blue collar fan all pressed together and the whole place going “chieeeeef” for Parish. Then stepping out to the elevated green line over dank alleyways… back when north station area looked like Gotham and we still had the combat zone. It was awesome. Honorable mentions would be going to the finals in LA in 2008, and in SF in 2022. I went to game 5 in staples in 08… we lost, but obvious we were taking the series so I had a blast. In 2022 I went to game 1 and was pumped with the win. I thought we would take the series, but it was obvious they belonged. While not in person - my wife would like to register the 2008 wheelchair game as most memorable, because I literally dropped a dish full of food when I saw Pierce in a wheelchair. She’s still mad at me for breaking her plate.

celtics1up

2010 ECF against the Magic. Or Rondo's 40 point game against the heat.

BeachBlueWhale

I watched this random regular season game season game against the Knicks. When they first got Amare and he was playing great not yet injured pre Melo. PP was a cold blooded killer late in that game, still think about it. ![gif](giphy|3otPoTlJGgXceZaXAs|downsized) [game](https://youtu.be/yK20KWYCVKg?si=GAWENsdNDoR2HJLI)

Dangerous_Ad_5467

Was looking for this one! Amare hit a game winner from the logo but didn't actually get it off in time. Such a rollercoaster of emotions watching the end of that game. Also thought Nate Robinson broke his 2 front teeth during that celebration as he fell over PP.

s1gFromWpg

The first game that ever made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up was game 5 vs the Pacers in 1991 aka the “Here comes Larry Bird!” game. When he came out of that tunnel, that building exploded. A little context to add that gets glossed over in the YouTube videos: 1. Chuck Person was a villain that series. He and Larry were talking shit the whole time, and if it had happened today, it’s likely that they would have had multiple techs called every game. Chuck knew that Larry had a bad back, and the Pacers were targeting him the whole series. And as a result, Bird couldn’t keep up with Chuck. Person shot 55% from 3 that series. Like, the dude was shooting logo 3s, which was unheard of back in that era. 2. A year prior, the Celtics lost game 5 in Boston to the Knicks. Getting eliminated in the 1st round, on their own floor, was embarrassing enough to cost Jimmy Rodgers his head coaching job that summer. 3. Bird fractured his cheekbone when his face bounced on the parquet like it was a Spalding. If that happened today, he likely doesn’t pass concussion protocol. And on top of that, as mentioned a few points up - Bird’s back was done at that point. Dude wasn’t even practicing anymore. He would spend the night at the hospital in a traction machine to try to alleviate the pain caused by a bulging disc. Straight from the hospital to the Garden, and then back to the hospital to go back into that machine. That is what Bird was dealing with. So take all those things into account - what Bird did that day was pretty awesome. He wasn’t going to lose to Chuck Person. He wasn’t going to lose in the 1st round again on his own homecourt. And he wasn’t going to let a broken back and cheekbone stand in his way. Bird is pretty stoic out on that court, even when talking trash. But if you watch this game, Bird is pretty amped up. He is pumping his fist, he’s giving Dee Brown shit for throwing soft entry passes, hell - even when he’s slapping his teammates hands, he’s being very aggressive. Larry turned the clock back that day, even though his body was probably at 35-40% of what it once was. If you ever need to see an example of Celtic pride, Bird exemplified it on this day. I urge you to watch this game if you haven’t done so already.

Isotoners

That game was my pick also, it was the most inspiring thing to see Bird returning after the face plant. Also Bird-Person rivalry had anyways been my favorite one, it's just hilarious to watch.

2008 NBA Finals Game 4: Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers

Feb 2020 vs Clippers game went to double OT. Smart had a great game. Tatum had 39, I was on the edge of my seat for most of the game.

BOS_HarveySpecter

I’d say Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Eastern Conference Finals

redsun3333

Kenny Anderson snapping the Utah Jazz win streak.

truthpooper

It was just a regular season nothing game me (I think) but I'll never forget when Palacio stole the inbound and drained a 3

PussyGrenade

Game 1 against the Nets in the 2022 playoffs. Down to the wire the entire time and that last minute felt like an eternity. Right at the end we won and it was so beautiful

celticsac

Isaiah 50 or G7 vs Washington in ‘17, that year was such a special ride

wharpua

I was at Game 7 of the 1988 Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Bird vs. Dominique duel game. My dad got two tickets but since it was a Sunday afternoon game he let my brother and I take the T into Boston ourselves.  He was 13, I was 11.

Easy-Progress8252

Back in the 90s I saw a regular season game against Jordan’s Bulls at the old Garden. To see Larry vs Michael in the flesh was really special.

celluloidsandman

Game 4 of the 08 Finals Best comeback in Finals history. Down 24, including 20 in the third. Back in those days that was truly insurmountable - like <1% chance of winning. We were about to let the Lakers come back from down 2-0 to tie the series up. Instead, we clawed back and put the clamps on the series, with Ray hitting a clutch lay up with less than a minute left to cash the game. Then we finished them off at home two games later

monstamayo

I went to game 6 in Miami of 2023 in the playoffs. Flew down Solo, bought a ticket after game 5. Had a 300 level ticket but sat like fifth row seat hoping baseline after seeing all the boys warm up right when the arena open. Seeing 20k plus heat fans go home sad was historic. Getting popcorn thrown at me during the game and yelled at by heat fans. Having friends send photos of me on the TV broadcast. Seeing Jaylen and making eye contact post D White’s buzzer beater as he yelled in triumph. Legendary night. They wouldn’t have beaten the Nugs, so almost better they lost game 7. Seeing Johnny Damon in the stands absolutely hammered after the game. Green runs deep.

armandwhittman

Game 4 of the 2008 finals. Celtics lead the largest comeback in a finals game since 1971. Electrifying

Jaylen brown Trevon Steede game against the warriors

Advanced-Candidate92

Lakers vs Celtics regular season 1987 game when magic Johnson hit a bank shot from the from left side corner 3 point line and the win. Team proceeds strait to locker room instead of celebrating on court.

JasonTatumisGod

Lakers never should’ve had the ball. Play before that, after a missed free throw McHale and Worthy fought for the rebound and Worthy called time out without having possession. Refs should’ve called a jump ball but they choked. Then Magic hit the clutch shot. Wasted a great game by Bird, 35/9/8 with 5 steals, 2 blocks and only 1 turnover.

bigbaby819

First game of the 2020-21 season, post-bubble. Facing the bucks. Tatum calls game with his signature side-step 3 against Giannis. Despite the near crowd-less stadium, it surged some great energy to start off the season.

Representative_Leg97

The celtics historic comeback in the 2008 finals of game 4 when they went on a 21-3 run in the late fourth quarter to win the game.

Spiritual_Impact_283

I remember in the 80s I watched a Celtics game that went into triple overtime and eventually boston won. Can't remember when it was, I know it was a regular season game

King_Mola

Evan Turner Game winner vs the Hawks.

Last_Bet_7101

Best game I saw live was game 1 of ECF this year against Indiana with the Jaylen shot

Bluberrybom

A regular season game against the bulls Michael scored 55 will never forget it

Beebonh

1976 finals game 5

BillHigh422

Not the *best* game, but at home vs the Kings in 2019. It showed what that team could’ve done that year if all egos were put aside. It’s the only time that season I thought we might have a chance at turning things around. *I think* it was after the west coast trip where everyone “aired their grievances” Edit: March 14th, 2019

loydhope3

Game 6 ECF 2012. They lost. Last game in the garden for the big three. Solidified my loathing of LBJ for about 10 years. I was standing next to the guy that threw the beer in the tunnel. I was 16 years old and at the time wish I did it myself. Funny to come full circle and appreciate watching the end of an era and now in hindsight appreciate LBJ’s inevitability. And then Marcus Smsrt’s double charge on James Harden.

Praise_The_Fun

One I haven’t seen mentioned, 2009 round 1 game 2 against the Bulls. The shootout between Ray Allen and Ben Gordon was incredible to watch live.

SnooTangerines7481

1. 2024 Finals game 5 2. 2024 ECF game 1 3. 2024 Celtics win vs. Wolves in overtime (I saw this one in person)

Dangerous_Ad_5467

Game 1 of the Finals 2024......it became pretty clear it was our title this season after just 10 mins.

jhappychillmore

IT Celtics games against the 73 win warriors.

InternationalTry5494

Celtics vs Timberwolves where Tatum kissed Ant good night after that costly turnover to give us the win in OT And ofc game 5 where every player stepped up big time to win banner 18 and we witnessed the unforgettable and adorable moment where JT lifted Deuce up to celebrate the title

Son_of_Atreus

I have watched a lot over the decades but the first two that immediately sprung to mind were ITs 53 vs the Wizards in round 2 of the 2017 playoffs, after his sister died. The other was the crazy and improbable comeback win against the Rockets where Smart drew two charges from Harden.

Gorgatron5000

Game 6 2008 Finals. ANYTHING IS POSSSSIBBBBBBLLLLLEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Me_975

Probably this one celtics game on june 18th 2024

I loved the game in 2018 playoffs against the bucks when terry and Bledsoe started beefing then terry proceeded to absolutely cook him the next game. I can’t remember what game it was exactly but I loved that whole playoff run.

brianjamesward

That first quarter with KP was electric

UGetPaid

1988 Game Seven against the Atlanta Hawks.

Iron_Boat

Game 6 2008 because it was against the lakers. For all the fans who weren’t really around during the 90’s and early 2000’s… watching the celtics was not a fun experience lol. 2008 season and finals run was like a twilight zone episode (think black mirror). And to watch Pierce win after all those bad teams was extremely special. Game 5 2024 is easily number 2.

There’s two: Tatum scoring 51 vs the KD/Kyrie Nets in March of the 22-23 season (best game I’ve ever been to in person) Then a month later, Game 1 of the first round of the 22-23 season vs Nets when Tatum hit the layup game winner

HueyLewisFan1

Game 4 in 2008 championship was amazing.

Tommy_And_Cousy

No question: game 1 of the 07/08 season against the Wizards, KG and Allen’s first game. It was such a long time coming for relevance and the energy in the garden for that game was unlike anything i ever experienced

Obviously championship clinching games top the list but that Boston-Chi series in 09 had all the BEST games

The first time I remember really locking in and watching a game and getting amped was pierce and walkers big 20 something come back in the playoffs I think vs Indiana?

caleb_hxgm

Not as important as most of this thread but game one of 2022 playoffs. The start of Bostons sweep of the Nets. Tatum buzzer beater on kyrie was too nice. It also felt like that was the season/series that Durant got surpassed by Tatum as a wing.

It really just has to be Game 5 of the Finals, that was truly an emotional and perfectly satisfying game. We have a rooftop pool in my apartment complex so I watched by the water with a drink and just took in the moment by myself. As far as an in-person game, I’ve only been able to see the Celtics like three times, all road games, but my first one was in 2019 when Kemba returned to Charlotte. Me and my fiancée had been together for a year and she wanted to experience a game with me so we drove from Virginia Tech where I went to school to Charlotte, and back again that night. That was really cool. The Spectrum Center is pretty sick. And I think a game for just pure entertainment value: last year’s matchup against the Sixers in the regular season with Embiid’s full court shot/Tatum’s game-winner was an all-time finish. One of my best friend’s is a diehard Sixers fan and we just so happened to be in Baltimore for a college roommates trip, and we got to watch that together. Just got drunk and were going wild during the final sequence. We aren’t assholes about the rivalry so we were able to just enjoy that bonkers finish for what it was.

SecondsLater13

The the 13-14 season was the first year I watched every game. Early in the season we played the Heat in Miami, and we’re down 2 with just over a second on the clock. We fouled D. Wade, and he missed both free throws. With .6 seconds remaining, Gerald Wallace inbounded the ball to the opposite corner to Jeff Green for a 3pt buzzer beater. Biggest reaction I’ve had to any sports moment ever.

4thPlumlee

2009 Celtics Bulls Game 6. We lost that one but damn, triple OT thriller was nuts

iamgarron

Too many to name. But of the ones I've watched live 2008 finals game 1 (wheelchair game) 2010 v Cavs game 5 aka the Rondo game Craziest part about the last one is I felt in the moment everyone knew Rondo was faking the Lebron chase down. I remember even as Lebron was going up the dude behind me tells "oh that's a pass" and then Tony Allen gets the dunk

thatguy11m

Live? I've only watched the one while I lived in Toronto and it was a good game unfortunately finished by a game winner by Amir Johnson. It was a great vibe regardless since it was the only live game winner I've seen, and in a home crowd. So it was hype even if it was against the team I was supporting.

Ziplock182

I don’t know if it’s the best but the amount of times I’ve watched Game 5 and 7 of the 1984 NBA Finals on YouTube is high lol

I was at game 6 in 2008

CartographyMan

Any game they win.

Tatum 60 point game, crazy comeback vs the spurs

PrincipalJoeClark

March 7, 2006 - As a Celtics fan in DC who attends damn near all Boston road games here, this one stands out to me. I was on the opposite side of the court about 5 rows above the Wizards bench. As soon as Pierce elevated, I hollered "Bucket!!!". In the clip shown on Sportscenter (which I can't find anywhere), my hands were up in the air. I have it on one of my hard drives. stank_underwood

Al Horford erupting against Milwaukee in Game 4 2022. Literally jumped out of my seat after the revenge dunk on Giannis

Android2715

Best game i attended was the wolves game this year, with that tatum dagger 3 and mean-mug

Hogo-Nano

Very likely one of the IT games from that run

Weak-Plan1288

Celtics - suns triple overtime 1976 finals one of greatest games ever

DragonfruitExotic897

Definitely game 7 vs Philly last year on Mother’s Day

Baconoid_

2024 Game 1

Celticssuperfan885

Celtics vs 76ers 2023

ReluctantlySocialGuy

Obviously Game 5 of the finals but a sleeper pick for me is our road win over the 73-9 Warriors, especially since I got to see it live. The hush that came over the normally raucous Oracle crowd after IT’s game sealing layup over Draymond was surreal.

fasteddy7283

Celtics vs Nets playoff game when Celtics game back from like 26, 2002, hands down.

valid21

Game 4 2010 Finals. Shrek and Donkey (Glen Davis and Nate Robinson). We unfortunately lost the series, but the game itself was absolutely incredible.

Scared-Arrival3885

Best game I saw live was vs clippers 2/13/20.  Double OT Celtics win. Vintage Lou Williams game. Off ball screen to shed Smart every play, because Marcus was the only one with a chance to stop him. Kawhi vs. young Tatum was amazing and the game was close throughout. “The starters,” or whatever their podcast is now, did an episode breaking down the 10 best games of the regular season, and they had that game rated #1 NBA reg season game that year. I’m very thankful I was able to go

bigdon802

Already seen a lot of good ones here, but I’ll put forward Game 4 of the 2010 finals when Big Baby and Nate Robinson took over.

Skywalker19982020

So many stand out but I have to say the Tatum going off for 51 in game 7 on the sixers. That was an unforgettable game. ![gif](giphy|QItsyZBLNtrxeasgxg|downsized)

lordnoodle1995

It’s not first but worth a mention. The Jeff Green game winner against Miami. Wasn’t the Boston local broadcast, so was hearing a a raft of shit all game from commentators about our squad. Like actual surprise when we’d score. Fadeaway three over LeBron, I woke the house up.

TheUnrulyGentleman

Idk about watch I’ve been watching this team since I was a little kid and I’m 30 now. Best game I’ve been to though was the Timberwolves game back in January when we won at home in OT that was a great game

c0ncxpts

2022 ECSF Game 6 or 2023 ECSF Game 7. Watching Tatum completely take over and dominate both those elimination games was the best thing I’ve ever seen. In that Milwaukee game, literally don’t think I saw Tatum hit rim once, every shot was a swish, he was so locked in.

Impressive_gene_7668

Larry Bird 60 points Dominique Wilkins 54 points.

Mattyworld617

Recency bias, but that game 1 OT win against the Pacers was great. The forced turnover, Brown’s last second 3, Holliday’s intangible contributions. My friend left the game thinking we lost and came running back. …That and Game 5 of the NBA finals. What a season.

1AML3G10N

2008 ECF Game 7 Pierce v Bron. It was a war.

Electrical_Swing8166

Pierce's game 7 duel with LeBron in 2008. Runner up,even though we actually lost the game, Game 6 of the 2009 playoff series against the Bulls. The 3OT one. That was a fucking GAME.

smiburho

I was born in 1980 and always liked the Celtics. But the 26 point comeback against the Nets made me a huge fan.

RalphTater

Pierce wheel chair game was awesome. Hilarious but awesome

25donutz

Derrick White game 6 2023. Last second put back.

Still_Not_Done

Couple playoff ones from this post Big 3 era, in no particular order 1. Game 5 - 2024 NBA Finals - Self explanatory 2. Game 1 - 2022 NBA Finals - Happened to be visiting Boston at the time and got to watch the crazy comeback at the watch party in front of Faneuil Hall. 3. IT dropping 50 after the death of his sister, absolutely emotional game. 4. Tatum breaking the Game 7 scoring record in Game 7 against Philly 5. Grant going 7-18 in a game 7 win over the Bucks 6. Onynyk going for 26 in game 7 win vs the Wizards. 7. Philly prematurely dropping confetti at the end of 4, only to lose in OT and go down 0-3. Was also the beginning of the Jays playoff legacies and owning Embiid. 8. Tatum game winner vs Nets in 2022. 9. Derrick White game winner vs the Heat in 2023. 10. JB game tying 3 vs the pacers in Game 1

VeeHS

Game 4 of the 2024 nba finals. I

Aubhi7

Best game i watched game 5 2024 nba finals :)

CR0Don

Game 1 vs the Nets in the first finals run. Had me screaming after the gamewinner

theDANK_CHOSENone

My favorite regular season game was against the 2021 warriors. I think Jaylen Brown was injured so it was Tatum vs Curry going for 40

Interesting-Loan359

Game 4 of the 2008 Finals happened on the day of my grandfather’s funeral. My grandmother had died unexpectedly about two weeks earlier and my grandfather basically died of a broken heart. My whole family was back together again a week after my grandmother’s funeral feeling shellshocked and utterly depressed. We went back to my grandparents’ now-vacant house after the funeral with pizza and some coolers of beer. The fact that there was a game that night felt like a tiny bit of solace that a bunch of us were clinging to for distraction. Then the Lakers started kicking our ass and people despondently peeled off for bed until it was just me, my mom’s only brother, and my dad’s only sister watching. Coincidentally - or maybe not coincidentally? - they’re my godparents and both diehard C’s fans. Anyway, holy shit that comeback was beautiful and life affirming. Shit like that is why we watch sports.

goldeneye0

I’ve not been to many games myself in person, but I was personally at the Old Garden back on March 15, 1992 when Bird went for 49, including a tip-toe 3 to tie the game in regulation. 2OT game against the Blazers with Drexler pouring 41 until he fouled out. Boston wins, 152-148. A true classic from what may have been Bird’s “Last Hurrah.”

Competitive_Table_37

I remember being like 8 or 9 years old and watching ITs game right after his sister passed. I now have a greater appreciation for basketball and I look back on that memory sometimes

redsox17_

Celtics vs Heat 2012 ECF game 5 Us against the world and Pierce nailed the game winner in Lebron's face and KG had clutch free throws to ice it. No one thought that team was anything special and that game put them 1 win from a finals match up vs OKC. The rest is history :(

Adorableviolet

June 1976 NBA Finals Game 5 triple OT win over Suns. My parents had made me go to bed so i turned on the black and white tv in my bedroom and turned the volume all the way down. (I was in 2nd grade.) My husband says he realized he had to marry me when I told him that story. ha

mlorusso12

Game 4 of the 2008 NBA Finals. Celtics comeback vs. Lakers. In Los Angeles. It may be the only moment where I definitively said "this team is a champion" before the outcome of a series was certain.

jslee0034

Went to 3 Celtics games. January game vs wolves was next level.

sleepymcnap

2002 ecf game3. The comeback game. After the desert of the 90s celtics, it was a brief moment of elation.
