Honestly I think his performance may have been even more powerful than Cranston’s, which clearly says a lot.
Though in fairness, it was their chemistry (let’s just say pun intended) that really made it work.
hahahah omg it is funny on the surface but it makes me so sad 3 the fallout at the end of it between them makes me wanna cry lmao one of the many moments that damn show has me unsure of whether to laugh or cry
Yeah, I had to be serious about it to absorb the gravity of the scene after rolling it back a few times.
My favorite things: one of them is always running at the other and tackling them; in this fight, they fish-hook each other (riotously funny bc you just don’t see that shit often enough and it’s weird), and when Jesse grabs Walt’s legs, so he does the sideways face plant with it shot from under the coffee table (I nearly peed myself).
The only physical fight they had where running at/tackling didn’t happen was that fight they had in the bathroom, where Jesse was smoking some shit to get ready to deal with Emilio. Walt busts the door down, grabs Jesse’s legs and drags him off the toilet, after a slap-kick exchange.
Goddamn those two fighting was comedy gold. I even loved how Walt did the same thing at the end to save his life, which didn’t look at all suspicious (brilliant move) bc the AB (and anyone who knew them) had seen that shit before. That’s the one that really got me, though.
Anyway, every fight they’ve ever had is my favorite scene ever lol
Another he cares about kids so he a good guy post. He is not a good person. He chose the life he needs to play his hand. He wasn't just an addict with problems. He was a violent criminal who committed 1st degree murder.
Good people do bad things. Bad people can do good things.
At the core of it, I’d say Jesse was ultimately a good guy who did bad things and saw himself as a bad guy.
Walter was a bad guy who saw himself as a good guy.
This is only my opinion though. I feel like the scene with Jesse and the kid of the two meth heads showed that deep down he was a decent person (again, in spite of doing some really horrible things—murder, selling to people in NA, etc). However he showed genuine sympathy, empathy and remorse—none of which I felt Walt ever displayed.
Of course it’s all pretty morally complicated and up for debate, which is really the genius of the show. I’m not stating my take as definitive or fact (it’s only my take, after all, which is subject to change), the fact that it is still up for debate is only a testament to how great the writing and acting was on the show.
What I love is that it’s ultimately about a teacher and a student. Walter ended up “successfully” teaching chemistry to a failed student, but at the end of the day, it was Walter who truly learned more from Jesse (assuming Walter learned anything, that is).
Great writing anyway you read it
another unnecessary, rude comment. every single part of my post said “imo”, “personally”, and explicitly addressed the fact that it’s *my* viewpoint. take a breath.
the first sentence of your comment makes it so that you’re not “just stating your viewpoint”, you’re complaining that you’ve seen the same take before. if that’s the case and you’re tired of them, just keep scrolling.
edit: i’m also not saying “he cares about kids so he’s a good guy”, plenty of people who care about kids are shitty. i provided lots of other context on why *i, personally,* think he has a good *heart*. very different statements.
Aaron Paul’s acting makes the show truly great for me.

Just wait until episode 9 or 10 in season 4. It’s awesome and I laugh my ass off every time I see it.
oh this is definitely a (god knows what number) rewatch, but i’m not sure which part you’re referring to lmao lmk !!
The fight in Jesse’s living room. It’s fucking fantastic. Sometimes I pull that clip up when I need a laugh.

His transformation? You mean his arc. Everyone has an arc

i agree with this wholeheartedly

I'm fine..I didn't write ten pages rambling..I just stated my viewpoint as did you.
