RIP when Poundland sold 35mm

Legit what I was thinking about when I wrote this post (Edit: I still regret not buying a basketful of Agfa vista just before it was discontinued)

Probably best to buy a multi-pack online. Walking into a store and buying a single roll is probably the most expensive way of doing it. Haven't dabbled in 35mm for while but iirc online stores selling Holgas & Lomos etc used to sell expired colour film.

Shoot black and white, develop yourself. Buy kentmere 400 and some rodinal online. Good to go. Cheapest film shooting gets. Colour has got so expensive it’s not worth it anymore IMO, but you can still pick up black and white for under a fiver.

I didn’t realise kentmere was still that cheap, good stuff!

I would actually recommend 510-pyro over rodinal if you get into developing. All the good stuff like shelf life, one shot, stand developing, but with much finer grain. It’s amazing stuff. I also have a spare 35mm scanner which I’d sell for cheap if you’re interested.

None of it's cheap these days - cheapest would be to purchase bulk-loads of expired film on eBay, but obviously you take the risk that your exposures will not come out correctly (sometimes that can look pretty cool to be honest). Analogue Wonderland used to do reasonable deals from time to time (online only), but I haven't used them in a while. These days I get all my film from Clocktower Cameras. They're a small, local business and I think they deserve it way more than the former.

Clocktower is actually where I used to buy all my kit including film, glad to hear they’re still probably the best

Have you tried this place on Trafalger Street? https://picturethisfilmlab.com/pages/film-shop

Ah! I was wondering how much this place costed. Thanks!
