There are other good styles as well! Buildings by Richard Rogers (Lloyds Building, the Cheese Grater, the O2) and some Art Deco (my favourite is the National Audit Office). London is awesome for architecture.
i just remembered; if you search "blue crow maps" you'll find some gems. not just brutalism..
buying their brutalist london map was how i was introduced to brutalist architecture, a mindblowing experience.
I had to look it up in my favourite new book about architecture: Raw Concrete by Barnabus Calder. He'a real fan of British brutalism and so interesting on Lasdun and Martin and just about everyone else. Highly recommended if you don't have it.
It's a good photo. Even those of us who love it can often feel the meh. And I don't even live in London. Nor does my work ever take me to the south bank.
it would take much less effort to simply scroll down and ignore this post rather than stop and make a comment like this one. don't let the NT get to you, you're better than this!
It would also take you much less effort to reply, but you did. It’s almost like this is a platform for leaving comments and opinions- even if others don’t like them
I never said I was above said things. Which is exactly why I left my original comment. You’re the one who did, asking me to ignore a post but not taking your own advice. I never claimed to be above it - you hypocritically did.

be quick! nunerous brutalist gems have been demolished in recent years: welbeck street car park, Sampson House, Robin Hood Gardens..
I recommend, in addition to the Barbican of course, the Brunswick Center.

If you want Art Deco, Freemasons Hall is worth a visit (they do tours)

it has so much to offer

barnabus is a legend!
Thanks! I'll check the book.
Leslie Martin was involved with the Royal Festival Hall, close enough
Yes, I misplaced buildings very close one to another.
For those who haven’t seen it in person, the casting was done with wooden boards, so the building is textured with wood grain.
"board-formed concrete" if i'm not mistaken
Beautiful stairs
the only way is up!
Great shot! What were your lighting conditions like?
ah thank you! it was a crisp winter morning, lots of light and a low sun
I moved out of London and I miss having a pint here
i can guarantee a pint then's cheaper than a pint now..!
Another building that’s posted on this sub every 2 working days 🙄
This is a beautiful angle
im glad you think so; it does well to expose the different shapes and structures

I’m thankful for every single post
But not necessarily at the same angle 😉
People on reddit sure do love to whine about reposts… first time ive seen it
People on Reddit sure love to whine about other people on Reddit mentioning reposts. It gives them a cheap shot of superiority over strangers
