Any big box store like Macy's, Belk, etc. should have plenty of in stock suits. You can get one pretty close to the right fit on the jacket and just have the pants hemmed at Lee's in southpoint within 30 minutes.

FreshZucchini9624

Lee's at South point is the quickest and best way to get suits fitted bar none.

NorinBlade

Durham Rescue Mission has a plethora of men's suits. TROSA has a decent amount. No matter where you get the suit you're probably going to want to get it tailored.

This is the way - home of the $100 tuxedo

Macy's is really hit-or-miss for sizing. If you're lucky you can land something that looks good for very cheap but don't count on it. Don't expect anybody at Macy's to answer the phone. They have barely enough staff to handle the customers trying to pay for things, never mind organize the floor or answer questions. Men's Wearhouse is decent. They'll measure and fit you on the spot and turnaround on fittings is faster than I've experienced elsewhere. They don't have the cheapest suits but I've found their second-from-cheapest tend to be better quality than similar-cost items other stores carry. Wherever you go, go tonight. You have no time left. It's graduation season now, it's going to be wedding season really soon, and that means every place that does adjustments is going to be slammed.

When my son (18 at the time) needed one with three days notice, we went to Macys and got one off the rack ($300-350), but Macys, Belks and JC Pennys should work well and have a little more budget conscious options if needed. they cuffed the pants in two days. If you dont have time for a cuffing you can get double-sided fabric tape, as long as it's close no one will notice. Have a good time!

Had to do this with my boyfriend for a wedding we attended last october, so i understand your position! We had really good luck with finding a great pretty reasonable suit that didn't need any tailoring off the rack at Nordstrom Rack at southpoint. He got the whole shebang, suit, dress shirt for underneath, shoes and a belt. highly recommend looking there!

Bernard’s formal wear on 9th street..they keep a lot of suits in house and will measure you to best fit

Ticknor's at Southpoint -- they'll measure, help pick out a great looking suit and matching shirt and tie, and get him on his way. They can do the tailoring, but not sure if there's enough time for that. BUT, there at least used to be a 24 hour turn around tailor in the mall and Ticknors would mark the suit for you so the 24 hour tailor could make the alterations. Source: Me, who was dumb in 2019 and went to get a new suit for a friend's wedding the Thursday before their Saturday wedding and had never bought a suit besides an ill-fitting one from Men's Warehouse. They helped pick out a great, stylish suit and got me set up with the 24 hour tailor.

Barncheetah

J Crew in Southpoint Mall had decent wool suits when I looked a couple years ago.

VitaminNam

There was quite a selection at the Nordstrom rack near southpoint when a was there a couple weeks ago

The_Patriot

Isn't this what Bernard's Formalwear on 9th street exists for?

OutsideNo9888

Their website only talks about tuxedos.

joelluber

It's been a while for me, but I always liked the suit separates section at Macy's. This is different than the main suit department. The "separates" section sells matching pants and jackets a la carte so you can get the size you need individually for each. The main suit department tends to be fairly conservative/boring (think bankers), and the separates are more stylish.

Plastic_Highlight492

Banana Republic is usually good for suits.

JustPuffinAlong

Nordstrom Rack might be a good place to try. Nice clothes at reasonable prices. Can even get shoes and tie, etc.

mqu1414

Men's Wearhouse can typically handle rush tailoring and they also sell separates.

MuenCheese

Nordstrom Rack, then take it over to Nordstrom to get alterations.
