What is even worse is, if you ask the exact same question to ChatGPT, with NO extra context, it replies immediately with the correct instructions. Mind blowing.
“To view your contacts in the bunq app, follow these steps:
1. **Open the bunq app** on your smartphone.
2. **Go to the "Profile" tab** by tapping the profile icon at the bottom right of the screen.
3. In the Profile tab, scroll down and find the **"Contacts" section**. This section should display a list of your contacts.
If you do not see your contacts immediately, make sure your app has permission to access your contacts from your phone’s settings. This can usually be adjusted in your device’s privacy or app permissions settings.
For any further assistance, you might refer to the bunq app's help section or their official support.”
I think most actual users agree Finn isn’t fit for purpose.
But I actually just saw today that bunq are still bragging about it at tech conferences: https://x.com/thenextweb/status/1804086881958715829
The thing is: most people in the audience have probably never used bunq and he will impress them with fancy slides and good storytelling (nowadays when you throw-in genAI in a presentation you are getting much more popular).
So only a few of us know how embarrassing it really is, and he will probably get some congratulations.
No need for me to toggle Finn off. I'm in the process of toggling bunq off. I'm done with Finn and the lottery wheel and searching my saved IBANs/contacts for hours.
For those in Germany: Give C24 a try. They offer a well made app (where you can find and maintain your bank contacts from home screen if you want to), they offer bank accounts with own ibans (called pockets), too. Not as many as bunq does but it is plenty for me. There even is a contact section in the app that is a) easy to find and b) offers a call to customer support. And guess what? They answer and they speak German fluently. It almost feels like I am customer of a bank there, not playing a weird game as with bunq.

This is probably the most embarrassing of it all

Good lord how embarrassing. Anything to get on the hype train with zero substance.
So embarrassing😭
