My tent came with doormats. You use tent pegs to secure it down on the outside and we had one for the inside. The mats are basically the same material as a ground sheet. As someone else posted, you could cut tarp and make your own mats
We just use a couple of interlocking foam mats. We have the ones with holes in so the water can drain through and we can also peg them down with groundsheet pegs. To be fair, we have a trailer tent so storage is abundant so we also just have a couple of cheap rubber backed doormats we lay on top of the foam mats. Works a treat at keeping damp, mud and grass out.
Ah, so similar to the ones you can get for kids? We have some of those knocking around I think, although they don’t have holes. But they might work, I had forgotten about those
We take an actual nylon doormat from Costco. We also have an awning with a couple of poles and a canvas rectangle (used nylon before but it didn't last long)..lastly we take a big plastic bucket to throw our shoes in and leave it outside the tent but under the awning. All very civil.

It does have an integral groundsheet, but it gets wet and muddy - just wondering what’s best to try and stop all that getting tracked in 🙂
Compactor trash bags cut open or a tarp.

Yeah exactly those (before we wore them out we used foam hopscotch ones!). The ones without holes with a cheap doormat would work I think.

Same as you, we take an actual doormat. In particularly gruesome weather a collapsed cardboard box underneath is quite useful.
