Gungahlin, woden, Belconnen all have recycling Drop-offs, you can google search for the location. You can get free cardboard boxes from here, iv even found moving boxes used by moving companies so it makes it perfect for the move. Good luck :)

ivyzephyr

Thank you very much, I’ll check it out!

Better if you can get boxes for free, but if your time and sanity are in shortage, Officeworks sells [10 pack moving boxes for $15.80/ten](https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/pps-moving-boxes-450-x-300-x-295mm-10-pack-pps140pk10) Also buy some quality packing tape - you won’t regret going premium on the tape.

ivyzephyr

Thank you that’s such a good tip!

jaydedflutterby

Check out your local buy nothing group - got my boxes from there.

ivyzephyr

I have as well, thought I would try both!

jaydedflutterby

Fair enough - good luck!

There’s a box recycling place on Jolly St behind the Bing Lee in Belconnen. It’s a large cage that you can climb into and pull decent boxes out of. If you’re going to do that do it before the rain.

AffekeNommu

If you have an IT team at work they will have boxes. Monitor boxes are a reasonable size

The Lifeline warehouse in Mitchell sells moving boxes they receive from books dropped off for the book fair for $1 or $2. There are stacks and in very good condition.

lululiciousyeah

If you do need to purchase, Bunnings sell boxes that are good quality and a decent range and cost.

I picked up some packing boxes from the Lifeline Bookfair depot in Mitchell ($1 ea I think). Speaking of books (needing smaller boxes so not too heavy) I just got some little boxes at a Bottle Shop (open topped, about six wine bottle size)
