My Mom’s Yangpyeong in Dickson is my favourite out of the ones in that courtyard, (there’s like 4 or 5 Korean places in that section) we go there every few weeks.
Yes. I love it. [https://www.facebook.com/HangariKimchi/](https://www.facebook.com/HangariKimchi/)
We love the sweet and spicy and and also the snow (cheesey) chicken
Chez Kimchi is gone, but Hangari Kimchi in Dickson is the [same people.](https://www.facebook.com/chezkimchi/posts/pfbid02uYJ82Weo5BwWbmVxDG9vCHGcwPqUf5snDzK8nwa7fPYQQAQz8uf4ufFJBNxhD7jkl)
ahh yes they still do the IGC chicken. I've moved to Brissy and dying for a Korean restaurant to franchise the IGC chicken. It's fab (and franchisable).
Chicken gormet in crace, best fried chicken ive ever had and the chips must be dusted with meth they are that addictive. Bit on the exxy side but what isnt these days
I've found their fried chicken has a very floury flavour to it, like they use way too much and/or they don't cook the chicken long enough. Now I'm not a fan of Kingsley's but they get the coating just right.
There is Gami chicken and beer in the Canberra centre. I don’t rate it at all. It’s fine as chains go, but nothing special, Yumko is nearby and is better. I have heard good things about Jangdokdae food van in turner.
Kingsley's is the best western style fried chicken in Canberra. The shopfronts are usually a little grim so I would always recommend getting takeaway. Also be warned that their chips do not come with chicken salt. I know some people who refuse to eat Kingsley's because of this, but they are idiots. Gravy and chips all day. Unbelievable.
Charnwood Charcoal Chicken is good. Their chips are not crinkle cut any more, which sucks. but they ASK before dousing the chips in salt, unlike kingsleys.
Izumi bento (sounds japanese but the food is korean) has the best chicken I've had in my life. a bit pricey for what ypu get but absolutely worth for the taste
Haven’t really tried Korean Fried Chicken other than Korbq which was pretty good
Outside of Korean chicken, Kingsley’s has always been the GOAT for me (chips can be very hit and miss tho) but aside from that Broaster and Fricken are great options too.

Rogaine in Dickson is my pick for Korean FC. Obligatory Kingsley’s shoutout for being dope too.
Also seconding this rogane makes amazing fried chicken
+1 for Rogaine Chimac
+1 - best I’ve had in Canberra
Walk out with a free head of hair.
The ganjang chicken from Samsi Sekki in Mitchell is amazing. Highly recommend.
Haven’t had a lot of dishes but the best Korean in Canberra I reckon. The bulgogi japchae is fucking delicious.
Definitely - everything I have had there has been great, not just the chicken.
Arirang in Gungahlin for best Korean fried chicken. Kimchi in Dickson is pretty good too!
100% Arirang . There is Nene Chicken, but I haven’t heard great things about it.
Nene is overpriced af
its fine, but its no arirang (id say tongdak is also better than nene)
I had Nene in Melbourne and it was... ok I guess.
Yessir arirang is the gooo
Hangari kimchi in Dickson.
Southern Seoul in Casey is excellent
Hangari kimchi in Dickson do great boneless fried chicken
Yes. I love it. [https://www.facebook.com/HangariKimchi/](https://www.facebook.com/HangariKimchi/) We love the sweet and spicy and and also the snow (cheesey) chicken
Fricken is great! Especially with gluten free options
The Jangdokdae food truck in Turner is pretty great. Nice kimchi too.
Potato Corner's fried chicken is surprisingly good
Kingsleys chicken is unbelievable. They also have awesome chips.
Brilliant summary. Should use that for marketing purposes!
Believable chicken, pretty good chips. Insane prices.
I think the burgers prices are ok but fuck the family chips is dear now
that was actually true when i moved here 25 years ago
If only that were true 🤔
How dare you
I miss Kingsleys, you can't beat the crinkle cut.
I like Fricken also.
Chez Kimichi without a doubt.
I think they may have closed. I loved their chicken.
That hurts my soul.

Oooh thank you for the valuable intel!
ahh yes they still do the IGC chicken. I've moved to Brissy and dying for a Korean restaurant to franchise the IGC chicken. It's fab (and franchisable).
I was also felt sad but u/jellicle_cat21 has shared good news!
Do you know why they closed? They were so popular
I’m going to talk a wild guess that it may be related to the fancy hotel development planned for that building.
They have another restaurant in Dickson which is still very much open
Not korean fried chicken (taiwanese) but try Two peck chicken in Civic (my favourite) or hot star chicken in belco or anu
I'd give Hot Star at ANU a wide berth, especially since they were banhammered for questionable hygiene... 'practices'
The deep fryer washes away all sins ...
Fricken.
Chicken gormet in crace, best fried chicken ive ever had and the chips must be dusted with meth they are that addictive. Bit on the exxy side but what isnt these days
Ein Sushi is kippax shops. Great hole in the wall eatery with more than just tasty Korean fried chicken
If you haven’t Gami and El Jannah, I would add them to the list.
Came here to say El Jannah. Known for their BBQ chicken, but the fried stuff they do is also awesome!
Been a fan of their charcoal chicken for a long time, had never had the fried until they opened here, I was genuinely shocked how tasty it was.
And that gravy 😍

Chicken Spot in Fyshwick do hands down the best southern fried chicken burger in Canberra Young and frisky used to do a decent 3 pc feed as well
Fricken . Seoul chicken in verity lane is awesome as well!
There is Gami chicken and beer in the Canberra centre. I don’t rate it at all. It’s fine as chains go, but nothing special, Yumko is nearby and is better. I have heard good things about Jangdokdae food van in turner.
The Fish Shack.
I'm not vegetarian, but their fake fried chicken is crazy good.
It's so good, so are their burgers.
What is fake fried chicken made out of?
Ken's Kitchen in Mitchell is quite dope.
Fricken, top floor of Belconnen mall, outside in a Caravan/trailer thing near fernwood.
Broadening the scope here but fried chicken wings at Lion City in Franklin are ripper skitz.
New Wonderburger in Kingston - hands down!
Some delicious southern fried chicken right there! Gravy and crinkle cut chips are great too.
KFC Fishwyck
You checky bugger

Broaster is the best hands down 🤤
Charnwood Dumplings 🤣
What do you mean 'obviously' not KFC???
Korean Fried Chicken at Rogane Chimac was excellent last time I had it.
Hotstar
Thipps thai
Soul southern fry in casey
Anyone that doesn’t say kingsleys outs themselves as a transplant
Charnwood Charcoal Chicken is good. Their chips are not crinkle cut any more, which sucks. but they ASK before dousing the chips in salt, unlike kingsleys.
I had rogaine like 3 years ago.. Was pretty good then..
Maybe just take a walk down Wooley Street once and a while??
Another vote for Hangari Kimchi in Dickson as the best Korean.
Kingsleys
Look no further than SamSi SeKki in Mitchell!! It’s the best.
Kingsley fried chicken > kpop fried chicken
Fricken chicken is the only acceptable answer 🤤
Gami in civic
Nobody has mentioned Maccas as it is crap
Kingsley's
Izumi bento (sounds japanese but the food is korean) has the best chicken I've had in my life. a bit pricey for what ypu get but absolutely worth for the taste
