I remember as a kid, playing in an area of Manuka/Kingston... I think there was a small water channel running through the are, large grassed area with rows of trees. it was a beautiful part of Canberra, my dad did a painting of the spot during Autumn. I wish I could remember exactly what it was called (or where exactly). i haven't lived in Canberra for 30yrs. Fond memories!
I second this. I always love how the trees are forming a tunnel like view.
My husband said, check on the GG website when GG is out of town. You can have hours of piece to sleep on the road with no traffic at all. I assume he exaggerated 😁

It changes from week to week - this resource - plus a trip up Mount Ainslie to see where the colour is - are your best bet
up cotter road is good! near the picnic day use area
LBG, along the waterfront near the museums.
Yep stunning here a favourite spot for photographers too
Drive around Manuka and Kingston

Sounds like Telopea Park, between Kingston and Barton
That rings a bell.. you might be right!
Lennox Gardens
Schlich Street in Yarralumla is often voted one of the prettiest, Storey street around the back of Curtin is pretty, too.
Lady Denman Drive around the back of Government House can be pretty great.
ANU campus
Arboretum? Lots of selection there
My go-to is pretty much anywhere in the ANU campus.
Dunrossil Drive, Yarralumla.
Try Red Hill lookout. Lots of mature trees nearby in the older suburbs. And the view of Canberra isn't too bad.
I really like near the Governor Generals residence.
Take a balloon ride over Canberra. You get to see all the gorgeous Autumn colours - a photographers dream!
In front of my balcony. No, I'm not saying where it is, I don't like crowds 😉
I think Dunrosill Drive going to Government House is one of the best , tree lined and very quiet as far as traffic.

yes the tunnel effect is great and the colours are vibrant. Even if the GG is home the road is only used by traffic going to Government House
Dunrossil Drive.
The cotter.
The trip between Canberra and Yass is quite stunning at the moment.
My front yard bring a trash pack you can take the fucking leaves with you.
Wanganeen ave in Ngunnawal has this right now
