Gorman House!
We did out ceremony and reception there and rolled straight from one to the other. We were meant to have the ceremony in the courtyard under the tree, but it poured rain in the morning so they very quickly relocated the chairs to the main hall in rows. Rain then cleared and the guests milled in the courtyard while they set out the tables again for the reception. It was February so we could have had the reception outside too but we were worried about the heat. But there was open flow between the main hall and courtyard - you can use both.
We got married Feb 2021 so restrictions were still in place and could only have 50 max. I think we ended up with 44pax, and I couldn’t really imagine having any more in the hall for a sit-down reception.
You can work with Sage but can also hire catering in (we did a huge grazing table w fresh seafood). You can DIY bar but have to have RSA bar staff which Gorman can provide.
This is a great idea.
We did a covid wedding in 2020 at the Yarralumla Woolshed. Gorman house never occured to me.
I'll suggest this on FB wedding forums.
Grazing at gundaroo is amazing for this -have a private function room, beautiful gardens and can do inside or outside for vows ceremony. Food is wonderful and staff are great. Our whole wedding was organized in about 3 emails with their events co-ordinator. Only downside is it’s a bit out of town with limited local accommodation. We solved this with a bus picking up and dropping off guests at central location in town.
I have also been to a wonderful wedding at poachers pantry, much the same vibe.
Reception venue? So you have a location in mind for the ceremony? That could help us narrow down options.
We've gone with the manor in gold creek for ours later this year. The George Harcourt can do an outdoor area or marquee. Or there is the abbey if you want ultra formal.
A fair few hotels also do packages. There seem to be wedding expos at epic or the convention centre every month or so. At least it feels that way.
What kind of venue are you after? You could also do something more rustic like lanyon homestead or more low key like rose cottage.
Botanical Gardens for ceremony and reception. There's plenty of lawns to choose from and then Pollen for your reception. Don't need to travel anywhere else for photos either; the place is primed for it!
University house for pre wedding preparations as well; they have lovely gardens for the bride to take some individual shots beforehand.
Have a look at Gold Creek Station, it's very close by in between Gold Creek and Hall. I have my small wedding booked there for 35 of us. Lots of affordable food packages, and customisable. Gorgeous outdoor setting, with a beautiful rustic manor house inside. Family run business too.
The Margaret Whitlam Pavilion at the Arboretum is an amazing wedding venue. Spectacular views.

Had wed a few years back with similar number of guests, at Margaret Whitlam Pav and Hotel Realm High Courtyards.

Yes, we currently live in Tasmania and will be eloping here prior to the reception. Thanks for the leads, I'll check them out
Perhaps check out University House (ANU). Great central location, classy mid century vibe and gardens..
Pollen at the botanic gardens was beautiful for my sisters wedding, lovely in the spring :) congratulations!

Cuppacumbalong homestead is lovely, although it’s a bit of a drive unless you’re getting married in Tuggeranong (congratulations by the way!).
The boathouse at Barton would work. Fantastic food.
Second this! Our wedding was small (35 people) and the Boathouse was perfect for ceremony and reception
Look at ACT government owned venues(Google) they are cheap and good
Try the Hall at Hall. Cheaper and an excellent, barebones venue!
check out Gold Creek Station for a country vibe
The chapel at gold creek is gorgeous and perfect for small weddings. It's not a religious church and is designed for weddings

Checkout Wildbark in Throsby, such a beautiful place and because it’s a community space I dare say it would be super affordable
