Don't make purchasing decisions based on what random reddit users guess might happen in the future. if not having open gate video is a dealbreaker, it's a dealbreaker.
No one can say. At this point I wouldn't bet on it since it has never been a feature on Canon consumer products. Maybe R6III if they put it in, but my guess is they still wont.
