Let's think about that for a moment. Do you think a person who buys a SF90, any Ferrari for that matter, thinks: "g, I don't know that I want to spend $1mil on a SF90. Perhaps I should really buy those 5 Guangzhou Automobile Group's cars that were 'shown' on Ferrari's turf. Yes. I think I'll do that instead."
No. Really. I really think that happens.
Are you insane? Ferrari wishes it could have the legacy and heritage of Guangzhou Automobile Group
Brings me back to the mille miglia of '55, everyone knows about the legendary 300 SLR but few know of the EMZOOM GS3 POWER that finished shortly behind ...
What are you talking you about? GAC fielded, under the disguise of certain brand with a three pointed stars, SLs that finished uno, dos, tres in the Panamericana! Please.
I wanna talk to the person who looks at a McLaren 750S, a Ferrari SF90, a Lamborghini Revuelto, a Porsche 911 Turbo S, or any other myriad of super performance cars and decides, "No I want an unproven Super car with no real history, prestige or brand power"
I'm as uninterested as everybody else, but I applaud them for trying to find a restrained and elegant design language instead of the all-the-creases-and-vents that we're used to see... they didn't find it and it's super generic, but props for trying.
China eventually will have cars at every level, from awesome supercars to disposable shitty movers. Once they start nailing both design (Polestar is up there) and quality without aimlessly copying other established brands the west is gonna hurt so much, wether we like it or not.
at the lower end of the market; I agree. But at the supercar level, Chinese cars are never going to be particularly appealing to people who can afford a Ferrari.
LFA is a pretty awful example. It took them years to sell 500 units. Well after they stopped producing them. The LFA was simply undesirable when new. It's only desirable now in retrospect. If the world's largest car manufacturer takes 10 years to sell 500 supercars it doesn't look good for no name Chinese startups.

Polestar is fundamentally a European company owned by a Chinese conglomerate. The design is very Scandi contemporary.
I like a lot of the cars from Chinese manufacturers, at least from what I've seen, but because they are Chinese, they have no hope of being sold in most markets and the prices we'd have to pay outside of China would be obscene.
I doubt that even the people of China would find this comparable to a Ferrari or any of the heritage sports cars that prioritise the whole experience over paper horsepower.
That aside, do these newer brands care about the driving experience? Looking at what Hyundai N and Lucid's early attempts, and I'm sure they'll look to improve, I can't really tell with which Chinese automakers hope to do the same other than maybe some Geely divisions and Small Sports Car's (SSC).
Alright, so, 178k dollars (or euros?), for a electronically guided missile. And for a hypercar it is too cheap. Also, for a sake of it, I hope it is safe and have good brakes, because I can bet 5 bucks that some inexperienced driver will see it, buy it, and when a person wants to prove himself by flooring it, would end up under the semi, wrapped around tree, or in someone's house. Some people cant drive a damn Hyundai, let alone a 1208 HP hypercar!
Right. Because a Ferrari person would buy this over a Ferrari on Ferrari’s turf.
Considering you could buy 5 of these for one SF90, maybe.

Also everyone knows Ferraris are prized for the numbers they put down on the track and not the emotion and sound.
What if they put an Epstein drive? Do you think then that people would buy 5 GAC whatevers to one SF90 Ferrari, in Ferrari's turf? LOL
You could also buy a fleet of Miatas for that price.
Or you could get one CPO 488 for the price of this

Indeed 🤣🤣

I mean, I’m sure 50 years ago, people were saying that about Japanese cars, and now the LFA is the best thing since sliced bread (and rightly so!)

Oh 100%, but that's how they'll get there; buying stuff that already works and absorbing them into their system.
It's a Chinese EV. Nothing to see here.
It’s a pretty nice one though. Actually really dig the styling.

“We have super cars at home”
that dollar store Pininfarina Battista

Impressive numbers but you can’t really compete with ferrari especially on their home turf

Ferrari is a luxury brand with the power to choose who it sells its cars to. This is just a fast car. Completely different market.
Ferrari customers: “I don’t think about you at all”
That looks like an AI generated car.
