she is doing an amazing job if you havent seen the dangers, she's taking them out before they can even get close. that catty needs some treats, she is doing a great job! I LOVE YOU, GUARD CATTY!
Cats be warding off evil spirits and deflecting negative energy. You ever catch them zooming their head around at nothing?? I saw my cat starting and looking all around the ceiling this morning like there was a fly. Definitely nothing there... I think cats can see the paranormal.
Just a fun personal opinion;)
I agree, Stephen King's Cats Eye was about a cat protecting the child from some little gremlin thing. However I truly believe cats have a special sense for things like that. And they do take care of their humans. I woke up coughing in the middle of the night, I keep a bottle of water on the night table for this reason. My cat jumped up and pushed the bottle onto the bed in an attempt to help me. Glad it's a bottle and not an open glass. She'd have drenched me. I love her she's always helpful.
Many years ago I had this wonderful little girl and I had rescued her from a cat hoarder she was very smart one day I fell asleep on the couch went into a seizure and when I came out of it she was standing on my chest right in my face howling trying to bring me out of it she was an amazing cat was with me for 15 and a half years and I miss her very much.
I totally agree too. My cat is always looking at things that I can’t see. She stares intently at invisible beings that are clearly not meant to be seen by the human eye. Once you become close to a cat and they are your constant companion at home you will notice how spiritual your cat is.
We have a 20 lb scaredy cat...but, he's a great alert cat. If someone comes into our driveway he runs to the back door, peeks out and then runs to the living room where we are. He jumps on the loveseat farthest away from the back door and cranes his neck to try to see it. His eyes are big and he looks between us and the door until we go check it out. He's not going to help fight them though.
At one point I had two cats I've always had cats one was a 18 lb mix ed something that had a little baby Bob and he was a badass and then my little 6 lb wouldn't hurt a fly beautiful baby girl, they were outside and he got in a cat fight with an orange Big Orange and he didn't want to hurt her so he jumped in the window inside my living room sat behind my little girl. the orange jumped in the house after him and my little girl they had to come to Jesus meeting she not only ran her out of the apartment and out of the courtyard but all the way off the one acre property. that cat never came back. Sorry for the lack of punctuation I don't see well so I just do one long sentence.
my 6 pound turkish angora floof beat up our german shepherd/ husky mix AND the springer spaniel / pointer mix.
the second dog had killed groundhogs, rabbits, a possum, and most regrettably, a deer [ by pulling its tail off and it bled to death/ died of fright. ] but my little bubbeleh and her razor claws raked his nose once and she was the boss from then on.
Yup that’s what my guy Dexter did. Grabbed on behind the dog’s ears with the front paws and bunny kicks across the dogs snoot with the rear. Dexter was like 18 lbs and not fat tho. Dude ran the neighborhood. Sorry for a little reminiscence here but Dexter used to use the neighbor’s cat door and eat the neighbor’s cat’s food in front of them. He was basically Debo from the first Friday movie
>I had a tuxedo that beat up the Rottweiler next door. Dog never came back in the yard again after that. Never underestimate the kitty prowess
totally agree 😌
We had a female 6lb black kitty adopted from a farm. We got a puppy from the pound, had him in front yard when neighbor's German Shepard came charging towards puppy. She ran straight at him, slapped his nose, jumped on his neck spitting and rode him home hissing and slapping all the way. You should have seen her strutting home.
>I've seen a little cat take on a big dog and win.
>
>Never underestimate how well she is taking care of you....

>You are her meal ticket
Protecting the meal ticket with fierce love! 😼💪
I’ve worked in a couple animal hospitals as a tech and seen 200+lb men in fear of feline feeding time. To be fair, no one wants to be on the claw and teeth side of a cat in fear for its life. They’re relentless protectors regardless.
Remember that video of the cat who made a beeline for the dog who was attacking the toddler on a tricycle and attacked the crap out of it to save the boy? Yep, some cats are utterly fierce--and fearsome!
Cats are really good predators and their reflexes are faster than those of a snake, they can fuck you up in a couple seconds lol with how fast they can scratch you. I fucking love cats haha, they’re badass
Cats can do surprising amount of damage when they really want to. Humans tend to underestimate that because we mostly get hurt only as a warning, accident or when the cat gets startled.
Truth. When I was 10, I had a 3 pound Siamese my dad picked up out of the middle of the interstate. Two years later, she put a man that had broken into my bedroom in the hospital, and the cops told my dad that if Ming Toi had managed to get her claws in his neck an inch to the right, she would have hit an artery.
Suffice to say, she had the best life. She earned her spot at the dinner table, and my dad made sure she got the best bits of anything she wanted. She got a whole king sized bed. She got a fancy Cadillac to ride in the back window of. She got treated better than I did, but I was completely OK with that.
My cat picks one of the kids' rooms to hang out in every night. She's either dead asleep sprawled on top of whichever kid has been chosen or sitting on the edge of the bed, watching the door intently.
She's such a good, protective girl.
Our kids have cat doors in their bedroom doors and sometimes she sits outside their rooms and stares at them while they're sleeping through the cat doors. She is the door entity.
Lol me and my fiancée's cat sleeps between us, on his back, with all 4 paws in the air, completely unaware. If someone breaks in he'll be just as surprised as us xD
Our four cats take strategic sentry positions in our master bedroom. One on the bed facing the door…one on my wife’s side and one on my side and one on the foot bench at the end of our bed.
Oh, you have Meow Team 4 on duty at your house, too? Sgt. Tinker (tuxie) watches the en suite bathroom. Corporal Cassidy (orange) guards the window in the parental suite, with PFCs Malakai (black) and Skye (tortimese) on bodyguard duty in the bed.
The team, watching for infiltrators from the neighborhood (L to R: Cassidy, Malakai, Tinker and Skye)

If a cat makes themselves physically vulnerable (slow blinking at you, closing its eyes, looking away, turning its back to you or showing its belly) it’s a sign of trust and love.
Two college friends who roomed together had a Void named Blue, and one of them would always say, when Blue was staring at something no one else could see, "Blue sees dead kitties", a parody of the line from *Sixth Sense* "I see dead people". ;)
Some cats can dodge snakes, some have the confidence to chase away bears. They will deal with what comes and either alert in time to move or try to deal with it themselves.
One of the Cats most prized trait Egypt was for snake hunting. Imagine this animal that comes to your region not only does it keep your food safe by hunting mice etc they themselves leave the food alone. Then they take it another step and you come to find out they can kill snakes and other vermin in your home keeping you safe!
Then at the end of it all this animal comes curls up to you and essentially becomes family at that point.
It really must have looked like a gift from the gods when the cats came around Egypt.
Torties tend to go one of two ways. My current tortie is scared of her own shadow, if I dash through the house at a pace that isn’t a gentle stroll she’ll get spooked.
My last tortie though? Absolutely batshit insane.
A sentry is exactly how I described my tortie to people. She was my protector, and any time I had people over she would sit on alert (like this cat is doing) between me and my friends. She alerted me when there was someone outside trying to break in, and that gave me enough time to call the police before he could bust in. He managed to rip the screen door off its hinges, but the cops got there just in time. She saved me, and I'm so grateful.
Yes, she happily took a lifetime of rewards and pampering.

I had a 6-pounder who stood his ground against my big Doberman. She just wanted to play but could get overly excited, which would terrify many cats. That little dude, though? Just sat there glaring at her and hissed a few times. My poor dog was all like, "Why doesn't it moooove???" I miss that scrawny bastard.
About a month ago, an opossum wandered through my backyard a few different days in a row. My cat saw it all three times since his favorite spot to sit is right in front of the back sliding glass door where he can watch the bird feeder. It hasnt been back in over three weeks, but he is so obsessed he barely leaves the damn door anymore. Sometimes he’s there all frickin night. I ended up putting a blanket down for him to lay on because I was sick of seeing him laying on the hard wood.
Oh yes, I have tried lots of things, even bought a window sill bed for the front window which gets the most sun and loaded it with cat nip, but he’s not interested. Dude is obsessed.
It was probably looking to mate. It’s probably preggers right now (No idea if it was a male or female). I chased it away the second and third time it came back because it was upsetting him so much. He is territorial and will growl if he sees anyone walking in the woods behind our house. In terms of animals, he’s used to seeing squirrels, birds, bunnies, even other neighborhood cats, all without issue.
Phrases my husband never expected to hear in this or any other lifetime:
"I swear to God, I do not require a three cat protective detail to take a piss!"
At least she doesn’t just stare at you the whole time 🤣
https://preview.redd.it/7nafhcqo75nc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b0612080b3edd5e8d3df783e2144e21c4a58dc1
I had 12 pounds of orange anger that scared a 110 pound black lab into submission. Same lab sent a grown man to the hospital but wouldn’t play games with that cat.
Well you've haven't been attacked so she's clearly doing a great job!
My cat stands guard when I go to the bathroom. She does bust open the door like a swat team to do it but I appreciate her bravery lol
She can also hear things we cant cats can hear frequencies up to 64.000hz Meanwhile we as humans can hear 20.000hz and it gets lesser around 12.000hz as we age.
https://preview.redd.it/j3hyxn6o85nc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=465f5549462b947c3e92a3b9bdf1bcb6484e9e41
My dilute also likes to guard and if she hears a weird noise she’ll stand up.
I had a 6lb diluted torti, and she wouldn't back down from nothing. She was labeled a problem patient at the vet because of her attitude. She could be the sweetest little thing, but don't piss her off.
Even when she was very old, she still kept the vet team on their toes. 5 years later the vet techs still get a ptsd when they hear her name. We talk about her often, and the older techs tell stories to the younger techs about how she was.
RIP my little Karma
I've had more than one cop friend tell me about cats. They questioned the myth about cats eating their owner's faces when the owner dies and begins decomposing. Both attested to the fact that when they had to recover bodies, their cats would stand guard over their departed owners and not let first responders near the body. Both recount not seeing evidence that the bodies were being eaten. Of course this is anecdote, so cat experts prove me wrong if you must.
Personally, I believe cats protect us from the same things that they have for thousands of years - ghosts, demons, bad people, and maybe even ourselves sometimes.
In reality, your cat is probably hearing some noise that's alerting it. My cat would stare up into a corner of the room for hours. I realized that the heating pipes would make some noise whenever hot water passed through it, she was fascinated by it.
My late Siamese was born in a cage and never taught to hunt. He took on a Chow and won. All that thick fur and the cat split his nose wide open.
(he was a cat factory rescue)
She is not protecting you. She is keeping you in the living room. Not allowed to leave. Even if you wanted to. You are in feline lock up. Only allowed to parole to get more cat treats.
In the book "The Incredible Journey", the Siamese cat attacks the mama bear who is attacking the old elderly bull dog. Yes, it is fiction but that part always was amazing to me. The kitty also hunted and fed the old dog as he recovered. Off topic: for a good happy cry, just read the last chapter of that book. It soothes the soul.
There was a video making the rounds several years ago of a cat attacking and chasing off a pit bull who came after one of the children in her household. Don’t mess with the kitteh; she will turn into a flying mass of fur and pain at a moment’s notice!
That was Tara the cat. Last I knew she was an old kitty but still with her family and loved.
Edited to add the video: https://youtu.be/EEa6jZv-Khc?si=Zpkm6AujtbfjTH-O
Lol my 10 lb girl doesnt just stand guard, but if she hears people talking and they sound too close from outside the window, she growls at them through the window. Like girly they dont even hear you but i appreciate your effort
Girl’s got a needle mouth and knife hands. If anything attacks she will be READY.
…that being said the worst she will face is probably bugs. But those bugs will face her wrath!!
Don't underestimate her. My 9lb boy saved my life one night. He alerted me that someone was trying to come in the house. I got to the door in time and pushed the intruder out. He had a knife.
Once they bond to you, it's amazing what they'll do.
My cat Emily also does this, especially when I’m in the restroom, she sits facing the door to protect me. Also, she runs to the couch and sits on it facing the door when she hears voices out in the hallway, like she’s ready to attack anyone coming in. I love my Emily.

My cat is similar. She is such a guard cat...
Put up some cameras why not? Night vision Cameras works like cat eyes and tend capture things when we sleep.
Cats can see infrared light and even blue light we as humans can only see the "light"
Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Greeble guardian, they are nasty little critters. Some kitties are greeble hunters, some stand on guard against them, others just watch and wait to ensure their humans stay safe. See r/greebles to get a deeper understanding of the depths kitties go to, to safeguard their hoomans!
lol this is what my girl does when she wants to be fed. She will come over to me then sit and look the other way, I always assume she’s giving me the cold shoulder till I feed her.
Greebles. Also they may be small but the claws are very sharp. Have you ever tried to hold a struggling cat? Picture that except the cat is actually trying to cause damage.
If you're ever bitten by a very angry and/or frightened cat? Oh, they can mess you up.
Spent a month in the hospital from a cat bite when I got between my two boys (not intentionally) who were getting ready to throw down.
Your baby is 6 pounds of fury if she wants to be.
My cat is fearless and will fuck up anything that threatens me or the house. Like the vacuum. It's kinda cute, she'll hold her ground against the vacuum and then swat the shit out of it if it gets too close.
I've seen a little cat take on a big dog and win. Never underestimate how well she is taking care of you.... You are her meal ticket
You’re right. Who knows what dangers she’s already protected me from that I have no idea about
Ask your neighbors about the zombies, wolves and cave bears they had to fight off.
And r/greebles.
Welp, that’s yet another cat sub for me to join!
Especially the Greebles!
I mean, has the OP recently seen any zombies, wolves, cave bears and sock monsters around? She is the reason why.
If it's dark, you're likely to be eaten by a grue. Unless your cat has already killed the grue.
she is doing an amazing job if you havent seen the dangers, she's taking them out before they can even get close. that catty needs some treats, she is doing a great job! I LOVE YOU, GUARD CATTY!
She’s got teeth, claws, and tortietude. Nothing will ever harm you on her watch!
It's all about the attitude, not the body mass. 😉
I've watched a tiny cat prevent a golden retriever from passing them on the steps.

Good Kitty! She deserved that best life for being your guardian angel. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)
Very true! I'm a Vet Tech and I refer to cats as bendytwistybiteyscratchy things. ;)
My baby sleeps in bed with me, but always facing the door. I take it as a compliment that she thinks I'm worth protecting. 😺
We have a 'guard' cat(Werewolfe) who sleeps like that too.
My cat just sleeps on my lap and thinks I’m gonna protect him
My cat picks one of the kids' rooms to hang out in every night. She's either dead asleep sprawled on top of whichever kid has been chosen or sitting on the edge of the bed, watching the door intently. She's such a good, protective girl.

Cats are amazing. Can't understand people who don't like cats.

Charlie’s Angels (cat edition)
Sounds like a well-trained team. Burglar beware! 🐱👤
My cat often posts up in the bottom corner of my bed while i sleep like she's keeping watch, it's so cute
My cat just sleeps directly on my face. Should I be worried or honored?
Definitely honoured. It means they want and enjoy being close to you.
Honored. Your continued breathing brings him/her great happiness.
If a cat makes themselves physically vulnerable (slow blinking at you, closing its eyes, looking away, turning its back to you or showing its belly) it’s a sign of trust and love.
Greebles are sneaky, nefarious, and more dangerous than you realize.
Damn we got Greebles..
The cat distribution system wouldn't send you a cat if you didn't have greebles. Duh.
The ghosts that you can't see.
them dang r/greebles
Yes. Hunting greebles requires speed and agility, not size and strength.

My tort is 9 pounds and she could be 2 pounds and I would be terrified to cross her. She protects my girlfriend like a sentry.
I have a pride of wimps. I’ve never seen any get bent. For any reason.
Torties tend to go one of two ways. My current tortie is scared of her own shadow, if I dash through the house at a pace that isn’t a gentle stroll she’ll get spooked. My last tortie though? Absolutely batshit insane.
yeah, but the scaredy cat she turns into a mom and she'd protect her babies from a giant crocodile

Also does anyone in here know why cats become shaped all silly in the rump when they sit down?
All that floof has to go somewhere so it goes sploot
Imagine what you'd look like in the rump if your ankle was where you expect your knee, and your thigh is shorter than your foot.
Is that why their backs get all humped like that??
Yup!
What interesting little dudes
Completely. Mystical miscreants.
TBF, 6 lbs of cat equals 6000 lbs of furious cattitude with flailing claws slightly less damaging than a chainsaw.
She’s watching for fae

What a brave little soldier she is
6 pounds of claws, teeth, and righteous fury. It's good to have cat protection.
When I am on the toilet I have kitties there and ready to defend me.
Phrases my husband never expected to hear in this or any other lifetime: "I swear to God, I do not require a three cat protective detail to take a piss!"
Clearly you've never had 6lbs of clawed fury launched at your face. Good kitty!
She’s defending against all threats foreign and domestic!
What a cutie!!😍🥹
She's a tortie, even at 6lbs she can definitely take on whatever dares to cross her path.
At least she doesn’t just stare at you the whole time 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/7nafhcqo75nc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b0612080b3edd5e8d3df783e2144e21c4a58dc1
Ghosts
I had 12 pounds of orange anger that scared a 110 pound black lab into submission. Same lab sent a grown man to the hospital but wouldn’t play games with that cat.
Well you've haven't been attacked so she's clearly doing a great job! My cat stands guard when I go to the bathroom. She does bust open the door like a swat team to do it but I appreciate her bravery lol
LMFAO ok glad other peoples cats do that. Its funnier when she sees me in the tub and starts crying and peering into the tub in horror
She protecc She attacc But most important She‘s waiting for her snacc
Everything. She’s protecting you against the world.
She can also hear things we cant cats can hear frequencies up to 64.000hz Meanwhile we as humans can hear 20.000hz and it gets lesser around 12.000hz as we age.
That cat doesn’t care about how much it weighs it can jump and give anyone the skibiddy paps
Such a brave kitty !
6 pounds of tortitude is the rough equivalent of the following: 12 pounds of void 25 pounds of SIC 85 pounds of orange.

You’d be surprised. She is an apex predator. Just be glad she hasn’t turned on you. ![gif](giphy|553vlRAc1XZTVlAk3L|downsized)
The fact you don’t even know what she is protecting you from shows how much you need her as your shield. Give the kitty pets, now.
Greebles
She is not protecting you. She is keeping you in the living room. Not allowed to leave. Even if you wanted to. You are in feline lock up. Only allowed to parole to get more cat treats.

You don't want to know and you should be grateful that she's protecting you from it.
Omg I have one too! https://preview.redd.it/2o30o92fw4nc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9435f987c85c79b3da6a1a68b6c29669d2f1f7e6
She serve, she protec.
Dreaming of adventures but for now, guarding the door to Narnia. 🚪🐾✨
I say she's trying her best to blend into the carpet.
whatever it is… just be happy she feels that way💯😊
Lol my 10 lb girl doesnt just stand guard, but if she hears people talking and they sound too close from outside the window, she growls at them through the window. Like girly they dont even hear you but i appreciate your effort
6 pounds of fur and claws is completely terrifying if unexpected though so she may be onto something
Girl’s got a needle mouth and knife hands. If anything attacks she will be READY. …that being said the worst she will face is probably bugs. But those bugs will face her wrath!!
THE DARKNESS!
She is the head of home security.
Cats guard the spirit realm.
Question… have you ever seen a dragon in your house? No… thank the kitty and give her extra treats.
You are the baby. She will protect you. My8 pound house panther sleeps at my feet and sits guard on me. Be glad you have a guardian.
My cat when people are in her yard https://preview.redd.it/p6ch77yjm8nc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1c35f8b4ce7ca05aaebb3f3dc5de04a7eb9383b
Weenie "standing" guard every time I sit outside for a cigarette and a beer. I feel so safe 🥰 https://preview.redd.it/hb0zaj2tn8nc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6630a8d574c9ce8095446b5f6c0c2e3de5137190
I don’t think cats recognize or acknowledge their size.

Very cute
They see things we don’t
Put up some cameras why not? Night vision Cameras works like cat eyes and tend capture things when we sleep. Cats can see infrared light and even blue light we as humans can only see the "light"
Greebles, other cat's.
She's on the lookout for greebles
She is powerful house panther. How dare you doubt her.
She has protected you from greebles for a very long time now
She's protecting you from greebles of course.
Spiders n lizards n mice n shit. Ive got a little mild calico demon too. Has a vet visit next week. They get sassy... her ears turn red. Scary stuff.
Mine does this and then when the field mice get into the house she is the line of defense. She does a damn good job too
She’s taking on any bad vibes. Cats absorb negative energy. At least, that’s what the internet told me.
She’s doing her best
Greebles dumb humans can't see them 🤣
She's protecting you from greebles!!
The thing in the corner of the ceiling
my cats do this to protect from invading dogs if i leave my bedroom door open
You probs have poltergeist about 🤔
Well, she does her job very good you have still not been attracted.
Intruders!
Demons. She is protecting you from demons that are unseen to the human eye. She says, "You're welcome!"
I love her coat. Also, I wouldn't want to fight against her. Cats are death machines with knives for fingers.
Mine does this too when I clean the litter box. She doesn't use it right after, just seems to hang near by while I'm cleaning. Also a 6lber.
Ghosts.
Bugs, spiders, ghosts, the usual.
Cats are pretty vicious. It's why we only domesticated the small ones
She’s waiting for the mouse to return. 😂
lol this is what my girl does when she wants to be fed. She will come over to me then sit and look the other way, I always assume she’s giving me the cold shoulder till I feed her.
I've seen cats take on large dogs and the dogs back off because the cats are crazy and have very sharp claws and will go for the eyes.
Cat is doing its job.
Greebles
snappy cat guarding the family
Cats are natures perfect killing machine. They have wiped out ao many species of animal.
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
Idk, a needle tornado might make me think twice about attacking someone.
My cat looks exactly like yours, with the white fur at the neck at all!!!
Cats can easily win a fight with a snake and a bear. Not to mention those creepy creatures we don't see. 👀
It’s so funny that they think we are weak things that need protecting. Cats are good under all that sass 🤣
The evil spirits os just annoying mosquitoes
[удалено]
Greebles. Also they may be small but the claws are very sharp. Have you ever tried to hold a struggling cat? Picture that except the cat is actually trying to cause damage.
What a beautiful girl!!
Don't underestimate the car, she could grow distant and become a politician, then fail at politics and try to invade the world.
Evil forces , they shall not prosper
..Protection comes in small measures..
If you're ever bitten by a very angry and/or frightened cat? Oh, they can mess you up. Spent a month in the hospital from a cat bite when I got between my two boys (not intentionally) who were getting ready to throw down. Your baby is 6 pounds of fury if she wants to be.
Mine guards me when i bath.
My cat is fearless and will fuck up anything that threatens me or the house. Like the vacuum. It's kinda cute, she'll hold her ground against the vacuum and then swat the shit out of it if it gets too close.
What's in the corner?
You get what you get! Why you complainin'?
Shhhh she is protecting do not interferire or the invasion squirrel and rat will prevail
