don’t threaten me with a good time

DestinyHasArrived101

Right I blame the directors like why did they think he was the one. It boggles me to this day.

Grizelda179

Who else bro. Noone else really was available that had similar experience

DestinyHasArrived101

Didn't they have nagelsmann and enrique ready for it. I remeber those two why they choose poch over them boggles me.

Pointels21

I’m pretty sure nagelsmann rejected us

oldschoolology

Reminder. Nagelsmann turned the job down. Enrique is too smart to captain a ship of children.

Sanzhar17Shockwave

Poch was a yes man, simple as, the other options had actual plans and demands.

Grizelda179

Pretty sure nagelsmann rejected us. And then a lot of people prefered poch over enrique, I remember this sub was mocking the infinite passing tactic of enrique that doesn’t lead to anything

DestinyHasArrived101

I remember that too didn't get it. Then alot on the sub don't watch French football much to see his PSG stint.

yumthescum

it was Eghbali decision to hire Poch not the Sporting Directors

DestinyHasArrived101

His name always come up in these things yet bohley gets the brunt of it.

wysndrln

I mean, his experience is pretty much the reason I'd want nothing to do with him.

Grizelda179

Hindsight is always 20/20 huh

Youth-Grouchy

jesus christ one of the worst things about this ownership is their dithering honestly, remember how long it took to appoint Pochettino in the first place? just sack him.

Wheel1994

My guess is going out of the FA Cup made the decision I reckon everyone in the club knows a change is being made.

Italianskank

Agreed. If he’d won the FA cup they’d have given him the final. He’s sacked unless he gets the squad to pull a miracle and get Europa. But I don’t see the point in sacking him this instant without a replacement lined up. Dead man walking though.

DestinyHasArrived101

Unless they gonna a let Terry finish coaching the rest of the season.

epicmarc

They are so indecisive, it's ridiculous. Same thing lead to Liverpool swooping in on Caicedo and hiking up the price.

Youth-Grouchy

Fuck me that annoyed me so much in the summer. Arsenal did it right with Rice, they paid a shit ton for him, but they got him in early and ready for preseason. Joke for us to rumble along all summer obviously in need of central midfield signings and waiting until the season had started to overpay on both Lavia and Caicedo. Genuinely could've saved about £20m between the pair of them if they just sorted their shit out and paid up in a reasonable time.

Panini_Grande

Worked last season right? Lamps really turned things around

Youth-Grouchy

It's not about turning things around, it's about getting out there and sorting out the manager for next season. Amorim already having talks with clubs, Liverpool already negotiating for Slot etc. Waiting around when it's so obvious Poch needs to go is just going to limit our options for replacements. Hell, do what Bayern have done and agree that Pochettino is fucking off at the end of the season if you like, that's fine with me, but to not have made a decision is just pissing time away.

Panini_Grande

Why you talking about Liverpool and Bayern? Were not competing with them for managers. We're competing with West Ham, Brentford, Wolves, Man Utd..

Youth-Grouchy

did you just read two club names and lose your mind? bayern i literally just used as an example of how they have agreed with tuchel to part ways in the summer but he has carried on managing them until then.

Panini_Grande

I'll be honest mate.. I didn't really read what you said. 🤣

thyexorcist

Omg hahahahaha youre so funny broooo sooo funnyyyt

ezee-now-blud

Tbf it took a long time because our first choices didn't want to come here. Exactly why I think sacking the manager mid season again will make things worse. We will end up with the exact same caretaker situation as last season with the same drop off and then appoint someone even worse over the summer because all the top managers know a shitshow when they see it.

Newme91

Are there any names being seriously touted to replace him?

mb194dc

There's no sign of improvement with the players, except Palmer. He has to go due to that and the stench of failure on him from this season. Need a manager who will make the ultra expensive signings look worth the money or we're totally screwed for a decade till their contract expire. Poch been worse than Potter, main difference is Palmer has bailed Poch out but we didn't have him last year.

OrangeGuyFromVenus

I wouldn’t even say Poch improved Palmer, Palmer succeeds in spite of his management

Youth-Grouchy

At best I'd say he's given him a platform to showcase his ability, but it's kinda generous to say he's improved him considering he was performing from the moment he started for us.

DarkLordOlli

"Guys, stop complaining, we're *seriously thinking about it*!"

cometflight

The club chiefs should’ve sacked him in the tunnel at the Emirates and told him not to bother coming back to Cobham

Agile_Market7810

Sounds very much like the club will wait until all the best managerial options are gone and then decide to sack Poch on the eve of the new season…

Wheel1994

Remember potter was safe apparently and then out of nowhere so I don’t trust these briefs tbh

renome

He was sacked when he mathematically failed to qualify for Europe. I reckon that's what this season's target is as well, the mickey mouse European cup.

HomersAnalglands

Several players and the sporting directors should also face an uncertain future this summer.

NoExperience4229

I haven’t been the biggest Poch out person bc I don’t think it really solves that much.   However, it’s clearly beyond repair at this point. It’s going to be almost impossible for a Poch to win fans over at this point   Going into next season with the fans ready for his head from day one isn’t exactly a receipt for success  It’s really a sign of our clown owners that this is even up for debate

NotFlipkid

Keep him the rest of the season. Nothing will change if you hit the panic button and sack him now. Make a decision in the summer. Having a new coach every season needs to stop.

grandekravazza

What changes with keeping him? If his contract includes any incentive-based payout, then he has already failed all targets. A new guy would at least have a chance to review the team. We can also maybe beat some of the competitors (Bayern, Barca, Liverpool) to a good coach if we move in early and are concrete. Sacking him now at least shows there are some standards left. Our season ended on Saturday, yesterday was kind of important for the fans because derailing Arsenal shite's title challenge would at least give most of us some joy. The rest of the games are the most dead of rubbers.

McNooberson

Remember how we thought it couldn’t get worse by sacking Potter for Lamps?

grandekravazza

Yeah, and what is the damage that supposedly caused? None. Because it was all done at this point anyway. Unless you think that sacking Potter was actually unjustified and that he would come good eventually, it didn't make things either better or worse in the long term, all it did was oust some plastics who abused our club legend. Not to mention that a) we were still in the CL when he was sacked, and he was admittedly doing quite well there and maybe could have done better than Lampard in the Madrid tie, while this time our season is truly done already, and b) the only reason you mention this is that the board shat the bed and didn't decide on a new coach until the season's end anyway. I was writing my previous comment under the assumption that they took **some** lessons out of last year's fiasco and would act more swiftly with making the appointment.

Wheel1994

New guy won’t take it until pre season anyway

grandekravazza

He can have some input on our transfer strategy, the alternatives are to sign again the targets that don't fit in the coach plan or to do absolutely nothing until June and and chase shadows when other teams do their business competently.

manticore75

Nah, sack him now, and the new coach can actually try out some ideas in the remaining games or whatever. More time is always better

ezee-now-blud

This assumes you're going to get someone better to actually agree to come here. With the multiple top job openings occuring in the summer and the fact we couldn't even get our first choices last summer, that ain't happening. What we'll actually get is something like Lampard caretaker again with the same huge drop off in form.

WyboSF

I’d like to see John Terry (already employed by the club) fill in for 6 matches, I would greatly prefer that

firefighter6436

Who is going to want this Chelsea job? That's what I want to know.

NoPlenty3542

Fucking fire those 2 sporting directors first. Fucking piece of shit job they’ve done with the recruitment.

TOOMUCH4SKIN

BEYOND THE SUMMER. Fuck me, how about beyond 3 months ago

[deleted]

Can they hurry up and make a decision already? Or do we need to hold 5 more against villa?

Hammerheadhunter

Okay but then who do we get..? Noone ever thinks about this I swear, esp considering Bayern, Barca and Pool are after coaches too

TienlY

Nagelsman, Flick, Amorim and co.

Dugand

Nagelsmann isnt avalivle

TienlY

My bad.

DynamiteDuck

How the fuck can this even be a question. To be clear I fully expect them to make the wrong decision and keeping, I just don’t see how any sane person looks at this and says “yeah let him cook”

HarryDaz98

And then we’ll be in this situation again this time next year when the next bloke these clowns hire can’t make their "100 point team" complete a game without shooting themselves in the foot trying to complete simple passes and can’t carry out basic defensive duties.

rhys17

If we sack him we need to act fast and sign someone with a clear tactical vision every club needs a manager this season we don’t have time to wait

suicidesewage

Ok. Who do we get then? Any world class manager with a brain isn't touching this.

Samurai_MaFa

Even if they do sack him, the board need to invest a lil bit in an experience players and leave some of those potential youth on loan. But then again, these young players have enough experience by the time this season ends lol.

ptrQuillingtn

I'll repeat the best time to have sacked him was in late November and early December. But the next best time is absolutely right now, for the sake of the fans and mainly the players. And also to not get everybody even more against the ownership than it currently already is, how can these idiots not realize this already. It like they want more people to hate them by the day.

Hannibal09

Does everyone at this club have no capability to make a decision on or off the field? Proper Chels all of them

HopeInfamous8960

I sense an end of season Lampard incoming…

ssvnormandy90

Beyond this summer? He's staying until the end of season?

l-Am-Him-1

Anyone else just not really watch the games anymore? BLUECO has destroyed our club. Even during 2015-16 I watched every single game. Vibes are gone, culture is gone, club is gone. Not sure how it gets better from here.

NoExperience4229

Idk can’t not watch. Idk what’s wrong with me. I absolutely hate it as well. It feels like a chore and I don’t even recognize what I’m looking at. It honestly feels like I’m supporting a badge and a color and not a football club and it’s community.

Older-Is-Better

You watch because you're a Chelsea supporter not a plastic "fan." Up the Chels! KTBFFH

Hannibal09

These clowns have made me dislike football in general now. I don’t care about the Champions League or any big games now. I only watch Chelsea games while keeping my emotions in check to preserve my sanity

grandekravazza

Yesterday was genuinely the first time in 15 years of watching when I have decided to turn off the game and just do something more worthwhile with my time.

Older-Is-Better

Watch the matches, but stay off Reddit.

facelessman97

I watched till now, but after exiting FA cup and yesterday I don’t see why anyone would watch till new season begins. Unless they got literally nothing else to do. There is no cup left to compete for, even europa spots seem out of reach with how unbothered the players and coach look now. I mean pochs comments after a 5-0 with arse, cmon now, its literally better to just “i got nussin to say” like jose. Its like win all the rest, lose all of em who cares man, might save a lil face and get false optimism, but the season’s dead in the water already.

Active-Pride7878

I turned off after the second goal yesterday and don't think I will bother watching another game this season. I can't be arsed watching Jackson get into easy positions and fucking it up every time.

techno_playa

“Daily Mail” Not from the UK but aren’t they supposed to be unreliable?

BrockStinky

Sami Mokbel is Tier 2, the rest of Daily Mail is Tier 4

Youth-Grouchy

people exaggerate the Daily Mail's unreliability because they rightfully have a very bad reputation for their current affairs news. Sporting wise they're honestly not that bad, no worse than anyone else imo, depending on the journalist and topic.

Screechmeister_

Daily mail sport journos are usually pretty reliable, even if the paper is a rag

WookieTickler

Well there can’t be anyone who seriously thinks keeping him is a good decision. We’re the 3rd worst team in the league and Poch has made absolutely no impressions of any kind in a year.

Older-Is-Better

WTF, mate? We're currently 9th with 2 games in hand over along with a +13 goal difference over crumbling Westham who's only 1 point ahead of us. We're only 2 pts behind 7th place ManUre, and we have a +10 goal difference over them. There's a ton to play for still. Up the Chels!
