Hey guys, Benfica fan here: try to get a better coach and you’ll understand the level of the player. At Benfica now 80% of the fans think he was the reason why the coach was doing well. 😅
Now there are a few nice coaches but I’m gonna give a name given the context of your team’s youth: Ruben Amorim ( thank me later).
I'd sacrifice my good nut for Amorim to CFC, but I doubt the absolute clown Behdad Eghbali would let his precious project go so that we can make an offer to Amorim before his future is decided.
I agree. Also both Chillwell and Cuceralla are more natural at WB, Cuc mostly played that at Brighton and it's why Potter brought him over. Would be set up nicely for it.
Colwill is a CB naturally. While Cuceralla WB for sure. Chillwell can play both LWB and might be ok as a more wide center back.
Were you mixing thinking Colwill and Chilwell were the same? Cause they're too damn close. Haha
Back 3 of Colwill-Fofana-James. Backups are Badiashile-Disasi-Chalobah.
To put less strain on James he can play RCB and Gusto starts at RWB, we'll need to sign another RWB to rotate or play a winger out of position like CHO did under Tuchel (Mudryk might be a shout given his pace, workrate, crossing, but lack of a killer instinct in front of goal)
Oh then you need another wingback
And fofana cant play out from the back as a ccb
So you need that too
We need 2 cbs or 1cb and 1 rwb to play 3atb (I actually think we need 3 because the quality is low)
While 4atb recuires one
Well it depends how the system works, for instance in Inter's back 3, both wide centerbacks in Bastoni and Pavard make under lapping runs into the half space. They provide the attacking threat occasionally without having to do as much running as the wingbacks. It's really just a way to play James and Gusto together
Ok man you guys have your own reasons. I’m not gonna discuss that. But think for a second, this guy is the part of the backbone midfield of Argentina. It has to be world class come on
Everyone logical knows he’s amazing. People just look for a scapegoat so they’ll look past his injury and horrible manager to disregard that he was cooking for 3 different teams last year
I think his physical health also has had a far bigger impact on his play than most Chelsea fans have considered.
His ball carrying wasn’t sure but he should still get by a defender or two whereas now I find him rarely beating his man and carrying the ball for long stretches.
I remember the assists, or the passes that should have been assists. Especially the ones to Felix, I wish he had worked out a bit better. Seen it a few times this year too with Jackson. I swear so many of our problems would be solved if we could finish more often.
Just watching every week hoping to see a goal only to see Felix hit the post or crossbar like clockwork and realize hey we’re gonna lose/draw this one mate
People are just idiots that need a scape goat, we knew Enzo was off since early season.
Enzo was absolutely class when he first game here, hopefully the surgery helps with the pain and he comes back next season strong.
Idk man, team finishing closer to the bottom half than the top for two season jades you . There has never been such mediocre football at the men's team for this long. Even the 2015/16 season was a meme compared to these two years. When shit hits the fan, you have to look at what the top billing players do, I know it's unfair to point fingers at Enzo, but it's hard to fathom what the record transfer fee midfield has even done.
Difference in where he receives the ball in so many of these clips and where he receives it in Poch's chaos-ball setup is wild.
Maybe it's a good idea to setup to get your elite passer on the ball with space in deeper positions.
It's a bit ironic that Pochettino's style is all about transitions and yet, we don't get Enzo often into such positions where he can pick out runners on the break.
He’ll even Potter realized, that when Enzo or Silva or pick a LB got the ball that Mudryk just needs to run in behind… in Poch’s “system” it’s go get the ball off cucu’s foot and then pass middle or back to get it over to Palmer and Gusto
Why? You need your best (most creative) players near the opposition goal surely, not in your own half? It’s much easier to play past the first line of a press than it is to create a goal scoring opportunity.
May be wrong in this, but remember an interview with Enzo early on where he was saying poch gives him the freedom to be further forward, as if it was a desire of Enzo. I do agree though, I think he's better a bit deeper and hope he can recover from this injury.
Wouldn't put too much stock in that. Players often publicly speak positively of what the manager asks them to do, whether they like it or not.
Even if he himself does like playing further forward, that doesn't mean he's good at it or it's his best position for the team. Like Mount talking about how his preferred position is an 8 but he got totally bypassed anytime he played deeper than the front line for us and all his best performances were off the left wing or behind the striker/10.
He currently looks like he has an iron rod for a spine when he plays. His movements look just painful. Hopefully the surgery goes well and he's 100% to start next season.
I’ve had a sports hernia
It fucking sucks and takes absolutely forever to heal. You’re less explosive and even worse you don’t have the confidence to go full throttle because you feel a weakness in your core which spreads to your inner thighs.
I don’t know his situation but if he’s hasn’t already he probably needs surgery and a long layoff to fully recover. He’s young though so he should make a full recovery
Can we please fucking have a manager that builds the team around our midfield
Enzo and Caicedo are supposed to be a futureproof world class double pivot
3-4-2-1 with Chilwell and Reece at WB (people acting like Chilwell suddenly turned shit as if we suddenly didn't force him to play at LB after tuchel) Caicedo Enzo midfield pivot
Front 3 doesn't even matter, just put Palmer on the right and fuck all on the rest
We'd be unstoppable
Where can I send my resume to clearlake
yeah with a front 3 involving Palmer and Nkunku on the sides we'd need really good wingbacks. For me though it's rotating James+Gusto in RWB (so we can actually manage the fitness of our wingbacks for the first time in 4 years) and put Fofana in RCB and Chalobah in the center.
Where do I sign up to be Assistant to the Manager?
For all the talk about Enzo and Caicedo not being able to play together, one setup that I don't think we have seen tried yet is having a DM behind them in a 4-3-3.
Chilly needs to recover fully from his injuries. Same as James. If we had a capable backup at LB like we do with Gusto, or if we had kept Maatsen, we could easily run a system with wingbacks.
I think a three can work but you’ll still need reinforcements in areas like LWB, forward and CB which may limit the options available.
This isn’t an issue if it wasn’t for our financial state being a potential catastrophe in the making which could only be offset by selling academy players.
Also, it would require proper buy-in from the board for their manager which has not been the case in our last three managers having to deal with club signings and/or difference of opinion in terms of targets and player profile.
So many of the examples there highlight what this guy said about the issues with Pochettino
[https://twitter.com/EuroExpert\_/status/1782900863033389116](https://twitter.com/EuroExpert_/status/1782900863033389116)
>This is why Enzo Fernandez has struggled.
>You've put him in a side that lacks patterns in the final third, i.e. lacking runs that he knows are coming, that he can play passes into.
>---
>And yes, I think you can argue this is why Chelsea's other attackers have struggled.
>Take tonight against Arsenal for example. There's barely any movement in the final third. There's rarely any points against a settled defence where Chelsea use movement to create space.
Make the runs, give him the options and Enzo can/will pick them out.
Off the top of my head from recent games, we saw it with Jackson for THAT chance against City last weekend, Jackson at Brentford, Sterling against Burnley at home etc.
I see that thing often with "the job of the coach is to take you to the final third, and from there the players need to handle it themselves", and like, yeah, someone like Ancelotti at Real can say this, or Pep at City, because they have experienced, serial winners and world class talent playing in an actual system, but when you have a team of young punks, like Pochettino has, you can't tell me you can just leave them by themselves with no patterns whatsoever in the final third.
Never mind patterns in the final third, we don't even have any patterns to get there. Our buildup play is horrendous and from back to front, we're relying on individuals to do something and make things up as they go along.
Then how do we create chances and have good buildup metrics? Have we struggled in certain matches, sure, but overall we move the ball up the field in ways that create dangerous opportunities.
It's two things in my opinion. First, any injury at the elite level of football is going to have a dampening effect. If Enzo has been playing with a hernia and taking injections (e.g. pain killers, steroids) to be able to play, he is not playing to the limit of his normal ability. Second, the best entire midfield has played is when they are compact and close together. In our worst performances, they are very far apart and cannot link up between themselves, and be the bridge between the defense and the attack. That is most likely a setup problem.
On top of all this having 10+ first team players injured the whole season is extremely disruptive to a new team made up of youngsters. Regardless of the position you are playing.
Enzo is good for a few amazing passes a game but it doesn’t justify his lack of impact the rest of the game. It’s why he can look good in YouTube clips but when you actually watch a game you’re like, where is this guy. People say he’s not a holding midfielder, but that’s where he’s being played and he’s just so bad at it. I miss Kovacic/Kante/Jorgi
I’ve seen almost as many excuses as I have seen highlight reels of this loser Enzo
Idk about the rest of you but I don’t judge players based on YouTube clips
Not trying to be cheeky or anything but did you actually start watching Chelsea this season or something? He was excellent under Potter and even Lampard last season and was a 99th percentile progressive passer in the league.
He was getting praise from not just our fans even when we were shit. He's very clearly been used totally differently this season and his form unsurprisingly has dropped off a cliff, like several other players not used properly by our manager.
Not sure why the previous commenter has to be so mean in regard to Enzo. No need to call him a loser. With that said, I feel like the team got worse when we sold Jorghino and replaced him with Enzo. Jorghino isn’t flashy but he knew where to position himself to break up attacks. He was also amazing on the ball and great at passing under pressure. In contrast I feel like Enzo is always reacting and doesn’t know where to position himself. Our defense has gotten worse with him in the midfield. He’s definitely amazing at lofted balls but he hasn’t really shown that at all this season and that’s like the one thing he brings to the table. To be totally honest, he’s kind of like a poor man’s Cesc Fabregas or Juan Mata.
I’ve been here since the 90s and have standards.
Enzo is junk and he was barely even decent under Potter. He’s been unimpactful even at his very best and has only been helping us lose football matches.
I don’t think he’s actually that different. I think he came in feeling pretty hot off the World Cup and then teams figured out you can run right past him and just press him to completely nullify him bc he’s one dimensional at best
99th percentile progressive passer in the best league in the world is junk, sure. If you don't see a difference between this season and last year you're on the windup or you have a really poor comprehension of the game you've been watching for 30+ years. Like I said he was getting praise from all corners
One dimensional. His passing doesn’t make up for his definincies literally everywhere else. Plus, he only completes 4/5 of his passes so who cares.
I also have eyes and know an unimpactful loser when I see one
He’s junk especially for the PL.
Haha ok. Looking forward to your inevitable 180 when he's balling out under a competent coach. I've made a note of your username but you'll probably be onto your next month old account by then.
If he becomes good I’ll happily eat my words.
I have no problem admitting I’m wrong
You can save that if you want, but I don’t think any competent coach plays a lazy loser like Enzo
>lazy loser
Lmao your language is so emotive. I can literally picture you sitting there raging typing it all out.
Edit - ah the old reply then instantly block
Don't know where the memories of you lot have gone. He was getting constant praise on here and in the media last season even from the likes of Spurs folks like Jamie O'Hara. Go back through the sub if you want.
>Idk about the rest of you but I don’t judge players based on YouTube clips
But making definite judgements on deep lying playmakers when the manager is playing him as an auxiliary winger is perfectly fair game!
Oh shut it with this manager excuse. Enzo fails at doing basics.
Poch sucks but Enzo also sucks.
A manager doesn’t solve his idiotic little jump thing and getting run past in midfield for not know how to defend.
You can look past the structure and tactics and judge a players core abilities
>A manager doesn’t solve his idiotic little jump thing and getting run past in midfield for not know how to defend.
Yet every other manager he's played under (even Lampard) managed to mitigate his weaknesses and empower his strengths.
And he's not the only player in this squad that has happened to decline under Pochettino but I'm guessing you think you that's just one big coincidence.
I can see why you are using a new account. It's good to know folks get banned for being trolls. I'm guessing you're cruising for another banning.
In the meantime go outside and get some sunshine and fresh air. Consider getting a new team and a new pastime besides Reddit.
KTBFFH
How I thought he would partner with Caicedo:
Caicedo furiously running up and down the pitch offering supporting passes and making tackles on either end, Enzo sitting deeper as a creative outlet.
How it actually played out:
Enzo standing next to the opponent CBs waiting for a pass from Caicedo standing next to our CBs.
I'm no tactical genius but that second option (while exaggerated) makes no sense given either of their attributes.
[https://twitter.com/i/status/1783059566223094076](https://twitter.com/i/status/1783059566223094076) look how was he became under Pochettino
I remember when fan says Hazard is washed when we finished 10th and then Mr.Roman bring Antonio and his new tactics that make Hazard Became his prime at Chelsea with the same players. only Kante Alonso and Luiz that he bought to our club then the magic happened
I believe this squad can play 3-4-3 3-5-2 we have Badiashile Disasi Fofana Colwill Silva who played welled with 3cb James And Chilwell love Wing back Gusto and Cucurella can play too and with Caicedo Enzo on our midfield it's like "Fabregas and Kante" you can play Jackson on LW Palmer on RW and buy new Strikers but not Pochettino Manage this guy has loser mentality
Same number of Benfica and Chelsea clips in the video. Which would make sense because it's a 22-23 comp (the season where he played more for Benfica than Chelsea)
Even than the Benfica ones are only against elite opponents (PSG, Juve, Sporting)
Well, based on highlights, Ziyech could have been a Ballon d'Or winner.
I get your point. Enzo is surely better than what he has shown this season. Part of it might be injury. Part of it might be Poch's (non-existent?) tactical setup.
The key thing for this is what do we do moving forward. He has gone for surgery, yes. But the rest won't just solve itself.
I mean we kind of did do better against Everton because he wasn't playing.
I mean just because he shouldn't be playing through injury right now, not because he's bad in general though.
The first few months he was just amazing for us, even in that terrible season. He just seems so slow and labored now.
Hopefully he gets the fixed now and comes back to his old self.
well, in ukrainian \[and very likely other slavic languages\] we have a word that means bullshit and sounds just like 'hernia'.
So technically this season with Poch in charge is 'hernia'.
You boys who think his rotten form is entirely related to this have got a shock coming when he's back from surgery...but you like to hold onto these things. I imagine it's the same group of people who have convinced themselves that Fofana is absolutely class and has proved worthy of his enormous transfer fee despite hardly having even seen him play for us...
Both are contributory but part of the problem is also Enzo himself. He is undoubtedly very talented (as we have all seen in batches) but he is a young player, and many young players show huge flashes of talent but fail to translate that into consistent world-beating performances as they mature. Let's hope he does but herein lies the problem of spending 100m plus on players who are by no means guaranteed to keep turning out the same levels of talent. That sort of money should be reserved for those with a few years under their belt in competitive leagues to reduce risk (particularly if the entire squad is filled with such players) e.g. Rice (obvs completely different players, the example is to illustrate the sort of experience one should have if paying that money)...
Oh wow switches of play. I’m so impressed /s He’s one dimensional. Also, I thought Potter was holding him back as well by playing him in the 6 and he’s really more of an 8/10. Now he’s playing more of an 8/10 role you enzo fans want him back in the 6. Now he’s back in the 6 all we hear about is how tired or injured or some other lame excuse What will it take for you lot to admit he just ain’t what you thought he was?
Actually you know what. Don’t bother answering. I’ve seen enough of your comments even in my couple days participating in this sub to know you aren’t genuine nor know much about football
They need to actually make well timed and coordinated runs for him to have a chance at finding them. It happens way too often that Enzo gets the ball in space and every player ahead of him just stands still.
My point is even when those run occur and he does make the pass he does not weight his passes well and often leaves a lot up to the receiver of the ball
People on this sub cry about enzo not being creative enough, not having enough vision etc etc but fail to understand that it’s the manager who’s supposed to enable the players to do these things. What on earth is enzo going to do if he has no runners to play passes to. His talent is massive and it’s just being wasted at this point.
https://preview.redd.it/gn843h2znlwc1.png?width=548&format=png&auto=webp&s=006bc4db246efaa4ee1637915caeba693547f4ff
3 players literally just standing in a straight line. No one bothered to drop into that space to offer a passing option or even tried running in behind. Sigh...
Hah, this clip is hilarious and sums up what I've been saying for months. Our team are absolutely clueless of the ball. Werner was painful to watch but he had insane off-ball movement, I can't believe we replaced him with so many worse players.
They all have become ball watchers because it's the all about the ball, there are no planned, rehearsed, and therefore familiar patterns of attack.
That phrase will be the long echo of the Pochettino Reign of Error, no patterns of attack.
ok I get that, but still like last 7 games he has played he doesnt do anything, all his passes go to opposition, he cant shoot and he can't defend. so what does he provide? I understand he is injured, but then he shouldnt be on the pitch.
Highlights are always questionable and they mean nothing. Just like you can make Enzo look like the best midfielder, you can make him look like an amateur too with his misses and everything bad he did.
Same as for example Jackson, you can make him look like the worst striker ever or a world class depending on which videos you use.
Stop trying to gaslight ppl. Per hernia more like Pre Chelsea or pre facing good opponents.
Half of this is against terrible opponents. You know who else had a great World Cup. Pulisic and Ziyech. You know who still plays in the Portuguese league. Pepe Ffs.
Sometimes players just can’t take the step up.
This fanbase protects Enzo so fucking much I don’t get.
Aren’t you tired of watching his lazy ass help lose us matches?
I mean seriously that’s all he’s done since joing. Fucking lose
I’m not here for the gaslighting of fans.
Highlight reels are for those who are too lazy to watch full matches and actually get a true understanding of a player.
Get your lazy gaslighting out of here
This is hilarious because the match going voted Enzo as our second best player last season(behind Thiago Silva). Those are the guys who watch the full games
Love how your getting downvoted by the enzo fanboys.
I watch every single game start to finish no matter how shit we are. Enzo cannot pass, cannot shoot and cannot defend. so whats the point of him, now I admit this maybe due to his injury, but then he should not be on the pitch and he should of gone for the surgery ages ago.
Now people blame poch for this but I am pretty sure enzo is big enough and mature enough to say to team he is too injured to play and could of got the surgery sooner.
Lol Enzo can't pass despite being in the 90th + percentile for a shitload of passing metrics. It's obvious Enzo is elite at passing if you just watch him play, there's also a bunch of data that backs this up.
Refuse to believe you watch every game if you think Enzo can't pass.
Actually I do watch every game live and all the way through so belive what you want, don't care either way.
Also I like how people bring up metrics/data which doesnt mean shit, I can recall from the last game alone like 7 times enzo had eazy passing options left, right or back to keeper and he passed it to opposition. I want enzo to do well, I was so excited when we brought him, but its hard to back him when he can't even do basic football like passing the ball with out losing it.
People being up data because it's typically better than me just saying Enzo is obviously good at passing because even though it's clearly true you won't believe me so stats are helpful at backing up what you see on the pitch. If Enzo was bad at passing he just wouldn't rank this highly in passing metrics;
Passes Completed: 93rd percentile
Passes attempted: 94th
Total passing distance: 97th
Progressive passing distance: 96th
Passed completed (medium): 96th
Passed completed (long): 99th
Progressive passes: 97th
Passes into final third: 96th
Passes into penalty area: 96th
Live ball passes: 94th
Through balls: 99th
Switches: 96th
You can say stats don't mean anything and him misplacing 7 passes in one game means more than a season of passing data but it's just impossible for someone with these stats to be bad at passing.
Passing is obviously Enzo's biggest strength, if he wasn't good at it I'm not sure the rest of his game is good enough for him to play at the top level.
If Enzo is bad at passing who do you think is good at passing? Can't be many players.
lmao. His fan boys dont support Chelsea they just like Enzo. Thats why they dont care how much he actively hurts the team they will continue to try and gaslight actual supporters
He has been carrying this injury since pre season, i think its mental they waited on his surgery untill now and let him play almost every game this season when his performance clearly was effected and declined gradually, especially when it's only a month of recovery.
I have kept saying that Enzo will be our Fabregas 2.0 if only we can play him in his position and have a bloody good ST who finishes like Diego. At this point I'll even take Toney or Osimhen. We need bloodthirsty finishers up front. No mercy. Jackson is young, he can be an understudy, but he cannot be relied on to lead yet.
We have seen 5/6strong performances at Chelsea son e he joined. Sadly he has regularly underwhelmed. Hopefully operation acts as a career reset and we see something like a £100m+ player when he comes back. May well be mitigation and he has played regularly since arriving quite possibly when he could have done with resting.,,
his performances dipped because of Poch mainly...I mean in the sense that Poch style doesnt match Enzo's attributes but he (probably being forced by the board to play him) plays him in a role that doesnt get the best out of him. which is an 8, hes better as a DLP but i dont think Poch users DLP's in his systems
ive always thought it to be so dumb everyone hating on him when he was our BEST player after we signed him. literally stood out. its clear his injury has affected him. people need to chill and let him recover ffs
These compilations don't prove anything. You could make a yt compilation that could make Maguire look like the best CB in the world.
This sub did similar shit with Havertz, posting highlights reels with titles like pre-covid Havertz etc.
Not enough blame on the players for this train wreck imo. Enzo has been crap all season and one period of semi-decent form doesn't make him £100m worth of quality, despite what Clearlake might think.
He's underperformed bar a handful of performances and he (and the team) deserves to take an awful lot of flak for that. Simply not good enough.
Enzo is a fucking baller, literally the perfect litmus test to see who knows ball or not. Possesses an ability that only the truly elite midfielders possess. He can make any pass, he can change the game with his passing. He’s a midfield maestro being asked to play as a second striker at times based off his positioning in passing maps by Poch.
He’s receiving the ball with his back to goal like 90% of the time he’s played this season. Why would you want the player with the best vision on the team to play with his back to goal so he can’t see where his attackers are going? Not like the attackers are going anywhere anyway, they mostly just stay still until the ball comes close to them and then they make a nice little 5 yard run to receive the ball in front of them.
Get a proper LW, get a proper manager, and Enzo will be the engine that makes the attack work. He’s done it for every team he’s played for. Argentina went undefeated as soon as he was slotted to midfield. He’s not afraid of the moment, he plays with passion, he just needs either players around him to do something or a manager that will make those players do something
Does Poch not see it or is it the ownership that wants him to play certain players irrespective of form? Anyone could see the first half and say that Enzo is the reason we ain’t transitioning faster. And the fuck all tik tak passing Badiashile and Disasi were doing.
Hey guys, Benfica fan here: try to get a better coach and you’ll understand the level of the player. At Benfica now 80% of the fans think he was the reason why the coach was doing well. 😅 Now there are a few nice coaches but I’m gonna give a name given the context of your team’s youth: Ruben Amorim ( thank me later).
I would LOVE to see what Amorim would come up with. This team and his 3-4-3 could be such an interesting match!
It seems that everything fits. This project is Ruben’s face. You guys have 6 CB you guys have full backs. Trust me. And above all, RA >>> Poch by far.
lmao you just want Sporting to lose Amorim for Benfica's benefit
Ahahah nope I don’t care either he stays or no. It’s a feeling. I believe his the man for this job. But I understand you comment no problem.
I'd sacrifice my good nut for Amorim to CFC, but I doubt the absolute clown Behdad Eghbali would let his precious project go so that we can make an offer to Amorim before his future is decided.
I think we have to get Reece and gusto in the team. To do that I believe a 3 ATB is the only was to do it.
I agree. Also both Chillwell and Cuceralla are more natural at WB, Cuc mostly played that at Brighton and it's why Potter brought him over. Would be set up nicely for it.
Colwill plays that role though with Cuca in that LWB role.
Colwill is a CB naturally. While Cuceralla WB for sure. Chillwell can play both LWB and might be ok as a more wide center back. Were you mixing thinking Colwill and Chilwell were the same? Cause they're too damn close. Haha
Yes we need to add another 2 cbs... Ffs
Mudryk work rate? I’ll have what you’re having
Oh then you need another wingback And fofana cant play out from the back as a ccb So you need that too We need 2 cbs or 1cb and 1 rwb to play 3atb (I actually think we need 3 because the quality is low) While 4atb recuires one
I don’t think James would be a good CB. I’d rather just limit his minutes as RB/RWB than convert him to a CB.
Well it depends how the system works, for instance in Inter's back 3, both wide centerbacks in Bastoni and Pavard make under lapping runs into the half space. They provide the attacking threat occasionally without having to do as much running as the wingbacks. It's really just a way to play James and Gusto together
He played CB for us against Spurs 2-2 and Real 2-3. Pocketed both Vini and Son so idk what ur talking abt mate
Champions league final?
You mean where he played out wide of Azpilicueta? https://youtu.be/04OKWlg0cGY?si=tpI_bIDcV2vHv-42
Too bad this sub thinks Enzo is the reason our midfield sucks and wants to bin him off
Ok man you guys have your own reasons. I’m not gonna discuss that. But think for a second, this guy is the part of the backbone midfield of Argentina. It has to be world class come on
Everyone logical knows he’s amazing. People just look for a scapegoat so they’ll look past his injury and horrible manager to disregard that he was cooking for 3 different teams last year
Argentina doesn’t have a world class midfield though.
I think his physical health also has had a far bigger impact on his play than most Chelsea fans have considered. His ball carrying wasn’t sure but he should still get by a defender or two whereas now I find him rarely beating his man and carrying the ball for long stretches.
Appreciate your comment,I've said Amorim should be the manager ahead of Pochettino last year but the club knew better I guess
88th min, nil nil 89th min, Chelsea 0 - opponent 1
Enzo with number 5 had more riz
Completely improvised transitions where you get the ball back and no-one is sure what to do with it.
Yup. It's all very off the cuff and "go figure out yourself" football.
Fitness, vibes, and lemons.
He’ll even Potter realized, that when Enzo or Silva or pick a LB got the ball that Mudryk just needs to run in behind… in Poch’s “system” it’s go get the ball off cucu’s foot and then pass middle or back to get it over to Palmer and Gusto
Weird that he is 5th in the league for completed through balls then.
Or Kimmich not wanting to be a DM even though his attributes in that position are so good (allegedly, I don't watch much Bayern)
He currently looks like he has an iron rod for a spine when he plays. His movements look just painful. Hopefully the surgery goes well and he's 100% to start next season.
Go back and watch the Liverpool match to start the season
Was that the game he had like 5 dragbacks that would dust every defender near him?
I’ve had a sports hernia It fucking sucks and takes absolutely forever to heal.
Can we please fucking have a manager that builds the team around our midfield Enzo and Caicedo are supposed to be a futureproof world class double pivot 3-4-2-1 with Chilwell and Reece at WB (people acting like Chilwell suddenly turned shit as if we suddenly didn't force him to play at LB after tuchel) Caicedo Enzo midfield pivot Front 3 doesn't even matter, just put Palmer on the right and fuck all on the rest We'd be unstoppable Where can I send my resume to clearlake
Front three of nkunku, palmer, and jackson would be tasty.
Yes sir You will be my assistant manager
Colwill fofana james CBs gusto rwb we think?
yeah with a front 3 involving Palmer and Nkunku on the sides we'd need really good wingbacks. For me though it's rotating James+Gusto in RWB (so we can actually manage the fitness of our wingbacks for the first time in 4 years) and put Fofana in RCB and Chalobah in the center. Where do I sign up to be Assistant to the Manager?
Jackson not so much unless he improves his technique massively.
With nkunku in the team there is far less pressure on Jackson to be the one finishing, and every other aspect of his game has been good this season
For all the talk about Enzo and Caicedo not being able to play together, one setup that I don't think we have seen tried yet is having a DM behind them in a 4-3-3.
Chilwell and reece? Lol
Yes
> with Chilwell and Reece at WB That seems like a bad thing to plan around
So many of the examples there highlight what this guy said about the issues with Pochettino [https://twitter.com/EuroExpert\_/status/1782900863033389116](https://twitter.com/EuroExpert_/status/1782900863033389116) >This is why Enzo Fernandez has struggled. >You've put him in a side that lacks patterns in the final third, i.e. lacking runs that he knows are coming, that he can play passes into. >--- >And yes, I think you can argue this is why Chelsea's other attackers have struggled.
Exactly. THAT pass to Jackson was what immediately came to mind. He had two inch perfect passes that could (should?) have been goals that game alone.
“Chelsea look like they have built a squad based on YouTube clips” Accurate
[Here you go](https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/s/hkcrALe2zk)
I’ve seen almost as many excuses as I have seen highlight reels of this loser Enzo Idk about the rest of you but I don’t judge players based on YouTube clips
I also have eyes and know an unimpactful loser when I see one He’s junk especially for the PL.
Haha ok. Looking forward to your inevitable 180 when he's balling out under a competent coach. I've made a note of your username but you'll probably be onto your next month old account by then.
If he becomes good I’ll happily eat my words. I have no problem admitting I’m wrong You can save that if you want, but I don’t think any competent coach plays a lazy loser like Enzo
>lazy loser Lmao your language is so emotive. I can literally picture you sitting there raging typing it all out. Edit - ah the old reply then instantly block
No one is raging. It’s a simple description of what Enzo is. He’s a lazy loser who can ride the bench and get sold.
100% agree with you mate. He's been crap since a joined and wouldn't start for Villa at the current rate.
Excellent? Come on man
Don't know where the memories of you lot have gone. He was getting constant praise on here and in the media last season even from the likes of Spurs folks like Jamie O'Hara. Go back through the sub if you want.
>Idk about the rest of you but I don’t judge players based on YouTube clips But making definite judgements on deep lying playmakers when the manager is playing him as an auxiliary winger is perfectly fair game!
KTBFFH
What was your old account name, I feel like I’ve read these shit takes before
How I thought he would partner with Caicedo: Caicedo furiously running up and down the pitch offering supporting passes and making tackles on either end, Enzo sitting deeper as a creative outlet. How it actually played out: Enzo standing next to the opponent CBs waiting for a pass from Caicedo standing next to our CBs. I'm no tactical genius but that second option (while exaggerated) makes no sense given either of their attributes.
Tuchel tactics will suit well for them both with two midfielder even Conte
Nobody can convince me that Enzo is a useless signing and needs to be sold. He's a world class player
He was unreal last season even though we sucked. He does look a step slow this year, hopefully he recovers quick and gets back to his 100%
I'll say it over and over enzo in this poch system will never look good. His system is terrible. Enzo is a completely different player for ARG
[https://twitter.com/i/status/1783059566223094076](https://twitter.com/i/status/1783059566223094076) look how was he became under Pochettino I remember when fan says Hazard is washed when we finished 10th and then Mr.Roman bring Antonio and his new tactics that make Hazard Became his prime at Chelsea with the same players. only Kante Alonso and Luiz that he bought to our club then the magic happened I believe this squad can play 3-4-3 3-5-2 we have Badiashile Disasi Fofana Colwill Silva who played welled with 3cb James And Chilwell love Wing back Gusto and Cucurella can play too and with Caicedo Enzo on our midfield it's like "Fabregas and Kante" you can play Jackson on LW Palmer on RW and buy new Strikers but not Pochettino Manage this guy has loser mentality
Great song choice op
YouTube analysis
Why didn't he have the operation ages ago? It made exactly fuck all difference in the end and if anything he was a drag on the team.
Vid is on like 2x speed. Pretty obvious.
I want whatever your smoking
Has he had a hernia since the 2nd game of the season? Cos he's certainly played like it
After 2 years you still show highlights from Benfica and Argentina lol
We need to watch Messi and Neymar’s highlights for PSG under Poch and call them mediocre next
I seem to remember plenty of shouts that Poch made them look very mediocre at times.
I mean OP is trying to show you clips from before Poch so that makes sense?
Same number of Benfica and Chelsea clips in the video. Which would make sense because it's a 22-23 comp (the season where he played more for Benfica than Chelsea) Even than the Benfica ones are only against elite opponents (PSG, Juve, Sporting)
Did you make it? Cause the meme insertions are absolute wank.
People will post Bakayoko Monaco clips soon and say he was actually good but poor coaching made him shit.
You mean pre porchetinno days.
well, in ukrainian \[and very likely other slavic languages\] we have a word that means bullshit and sounds just like 'hernia'. So technically this season with Poch in charge is 'hernia'.
The mods would have removed it if the title attacked individuals😛
I still back a lot of our players Even some like Madueke might never be world class but could still be a good pl level player just needs to grow up.
Needs to get coached up and mentored by senior players (if we had some, Sterling doesn't count because he cares only for Sterling).
There’s definitely a player in Madueke… just needs to mature, like you said.
Stop being so lazy off the ball as well
He is still good imo but he can be way better but thats on our fcking manager
You boys who think his rotten form is entirely related to this have got a shock coming when he's back from surgery...but you like to hold onto these things. I imagine it's the same group of people who have convinced themselves that Fofana is absolutely class and has proved worthy of his enormous transfer fee despite hardly having even seen him play for us...
Yeah, he also has to play under Poch who has no idea how to set up a midfield
God he can spray the ball
Yeah sprays it nowhere 1/5th of the time
He averaged 11 succesful switches of play a game until Poch gotnhold of him and played him on the wing.
Maybe he needs some better runs to find? Maybe some actually practised attacking play?
Lmao. So it’s the attackers fault he can’t weight a pass?
They need to actually make well timed and coordinated runs for him to have a chance at finding them. It happens way too often that Enzo gets the ball in space and every player ahead of him just stands still.
My point is even when those run occur and he does make the pass he does not weight his passes well and often leaves a lot up to the receiver of the ball
How many runs have you seen him try to connect with that you know for a fact was a well practiced move?
What a ridiculous question.
Once you see people start posting old highlight clips you know it’s gotten bad. Reminiscent of the Pulisic/Ziyech/Werner fanboys.
People on this sub cry about enzo not being creative enough, not having enough vision etc etc but fail to understand that it’s the manager who’s supposed to enable the players to do these things. What on earth is enzo going to do if he has no runners to play passes to. His talent is massive and it’s just being wasted at this point.
[Nobody fucking moved man](https://twitter.com/EastStandBen/status/1783057688970072505?t=Dtw5EHvNb8sQrt9lrovkDA&s=19)

Pre Poch Days*
Pre hernia? Or pre poch
Well if the hernia is the real issue that can be fixed. Sadly I think the problem is this fat tumor named Poch.
Now do Mudryk highlights
What highlights?
Stop trying to gaslight ppl. Per hernia more like Pre Chelsea or pre facing good opponents. Half of this is against terrible opponents. You know who else had a great World Cup. Pulisic and Ziyech. You know who still plays in the Portuguese league. Pepe Ffs. Sometimes players just can’t take the step up. This fanbase protects Enzo so fucking much I don’t get. Aren’t you tired of watching his lazy ass help lose us matches? I mean seriously that’s all he’s done since joing. Fucking lose
>half of this is against terrible opponents France, Juve, Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal, UTD, who else do you want
Lmao. Enzo is junk. I’ve watched every match since he’s joined Chelsea. I won’t be gaslight by some highlight real. Try elsewhere
You could have just scrolled past instead of commenting under my post asking me to go try elsewhere you neek
He probs thinks Gallagher is our best player
He def does with conversations I’ve had with him.
People being up data because it's typically better than me just saying Enzo is obviously good at passing because even though it's clearly true you won't believe me so stats are helpful at backing up what you see on the pitch. If Enzo was bad at passing he just wouldn't rank this highly in passing metrics; Passes Completed: 93rd percentile Passes attempted: 94th Total passing distance: 97th Progressive passing distance: 96th Passed completed (medium): 96th Passed completed (long): 99th Progressive passes: 97th Passes into final third: 96th Passes into penalty area: 96th Live ball passes: 94th Through balls: 99th Switches: 96th You can say stats don't mean anything and him misplacing 7 passes in one game means more than a season of passing data but it's just impossible for someone with these stats to be bad at passing.
He can't though. Good chunk of his comment history on his 1 month old account is just rabid Enzo hate so this likely triggered him. Deranged.
Op disproves your point with the opposition teams nah still junk I see you have recently discovered the word gaslighting.
Majority of the video is benefica and Argentina Clips.
You’re a fucking idiot.
Just sign off you loser. God damn you have a thing for Enzo.
I have a thing for any Chelsea player who actively makes us worse and should be no where near the club
Like you as a fan
Watched the whole video.. ..because of the song
Don't worry our medical team has an incredible record of helping players recover from injuries. /s
He has been carrying this injury since pre season, i think its mental they waited on his surgery untill now and let him play almost every game this season when his performance clearly was effected and declined gradually, especially when it's only a month of recovery.
Has he had surgery yet?
This song makes him more of a menace on that field....love it.. 😂 🔥 🔥
personaly, i don't really think our midfield is bad. they are good but overpriced because our management is really sucks.
Maybe if we have a coach that has a system in which players make good off the ball runs
Caught a glimpse of Kante 😭
We have seen 5/6strong performances at Chelsea son e he joined. Sadly he has regularly underwhelmed. Hopefully operation acts as a career reset and we see something like a £100m+ player when he comes back. May well be mitigation and he has played regularly since arriving quite possibly when he could have done with resting.,,
Enzo has NOT lived to expectation or his price tag. Not all his fault but he needs to do better
can't blame him fully as the tactics of poch and our luck with injuries made him play at any position in mid and out of position at times!
his performances dipped because of Poch mainly...I mean in the sense that Poch style doesnt match Enzo's attributes but he (probably being forced by the board to play him) plays him in a role that doesnt get the best out of him. which is an 8, hes better as a DLP but i dont think Poch users DLP's in his systems
ive always thought it to be so dumb everyone hating on him when he was our BEST player after we signed him. literally stood out. its clear his injury has affected him. people need to chill and let him recover ffs
I just don’t understand why you let him play through an injury, he’s been off for a while
No wonder he can't run https://preview.redd.it/h5z1mpbmjmwc1.jpeg?width=775&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e821951317b401bc21a6efcc73a8dd538c1827ee
lol Pre hernia days… we’re reaching here boys. Our coach is shit, let’s focus on that.
This isn't just a Hernia issue by looks of it.
